Today is December 3rd!
The Winter Meetings will be held December 8th to December 11th in Orlando with the MLB Draft Lottery on December 9th and the Rule Five Draft on December 10th.
Wayne Garrett turns 78 today! A member of the 1969 Mets, the lefty infielder played for the Mets from 1969 to 1976 when he was traded to Montreal. He played in Montreal in 1977 and 1978 before being traded to the Cardinals. After his time in MLB, he spent two seasons in Japan.
Darryl Hamilton was born on this date in 1964. The Louisiana native was an outfielder who played 13 years in the majors, debuting with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1988. He played seven years with Milwaukee and also played for the Rangers, Giants and Rockies. Hamilton spent the final three seasons as a player from 1999 to 2001 with the Mets. After retiring, he became a broadcaster. Hamilton was tragically murdered at age 50 by his ex-girlfriend Monica Jordan in 2015. He was survived by his three sons.

The 7 Line announced their annual Spring Training outing yesterday. Tickets go on sale 12/11 at 10a I think
I was really hoping the Mets would get Cody Ponce. Everything I’ve read about that guy makes me think his improvements from 2025 were real. I think the Blue Jays just got themselves a nice starting pitcher for setup man money.
That little bastard Rosenthal is reporting that the Brewers are considering trading Peralta. Personally I’d have him in a heartbeat (Peralta, not Rosenthal).
There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth if we don’t re-sign Diaz and I’m not sure I’m here for it
From the Athletic:
Mets should be knocking if he is available.
“Perhaps this was inevitable, but the interest in right-hander Freddy Peralta is so significant, the Milwaukee Brewers are now considering “cracking the door open” for trade discussions, according to a person briefed on their situation.”
Peralta is interesting cause it’s a 1 year deal. Pretty consistent 30+ starts in recent years & roughly 170 innings pitched yr.. also like guys going into contract years
Hey Mets fans!
Stat obsessed Jays fan here. For anyone interested in learning a bit more about your new closer, I have made a breakdown on IG [here](https://www.instagram.com/p/DRy6XnnFWIb/?igsh=Y2p4OW0ycm1zcjVp)
If you’re interested please feel free to check it out!
If Peralta really is available, one or 2 of Mauricio/Acuna/Vientos/Williams is gone, for sure.
That stresses me out solely because I am Vientos truther, and he’s likely going to be DH going forward, but we are in the mix for Schwarber…..
Are any of the three people who voted Pete Alonso for NYC mayor in this sub?
