  1. Congratulations to Hazel on winning the 2025 Jack Graney award.
The St. Marys, Ont.-based shrine presents this award annually to a member of the media who has made significant contributions to baseball in Canada through their life’s work. We are lucky to have her in Toronto and across Canada.

  2. Extremely well deserved. I love seeing her around and she really adds so much to the experience.

  3. That’s one outdated photo.

I’ve watched her for years. Be real. She’s just fine, nothing special for what she does.

  4. Well deserved! You could tell from Teoscar’s reactions to her during the World Series last year that she’s well-liked by players in addition to being a real pro in front of the camera: that’s not true a lot of the time. Only the second woman to win the award (after trailblazer Alison Gordon).

  5. Hazel is top tier. If Cheek and Howarth are at the top in Jays history, and Jamie and Buck are the next tier down, Hazel is either already in that tier, or at worst she’s knocking at the door just below.

  6. I only started watching Jays games for the playoffs, for National pride reasons, and Hazel was immediately my favorite. Incredibly well spoken, smart, and it’s clear all the players like her. Very well deserved

  7. Totally well deserved. Often in other sports’ broadcasts, the on-the-ground interviewer feels like a corporate exercise, serving as a mild annoyance before we can get back to the game. Hazel actually elevates the vibe on the ground. The players genuinely like her and you get all these authentic moments when she’s in front of the camera, and she knows when to let it breathe. Total pro.
