We Just Saw The SCARIEST Part About The New York Knicks…
So, the Milwaukee Bucks decided to blitz Jaylen Brunson late in this game because he was on fire. And this is exactly why Duce McBride starting just makes the Knicks a better team because watch how Brunson kicks it out to Hart, right? All of a sudden, the defense is overcommitted. They’re down a man at this point. So, Hart, he has the IQ to be able to whip this out to the corner to Deuce for this three. Just nobody in this league better shoots it than Deuce, man. He’s going to make that every single time. Another blitz and then Cat gets the rebound. Cat’s got to make that and get in one. But still, you like the decision-making by Hart. He knows that Giannis is not going to contest this cuz Cat is right there. So, he just reaches out and Hart goes up, misses the layup, but Cat’s there to end up getting this board. And I like that little push off by Cat right there. Yes, sir. Cat, let’s go. Go up with this. You got make that though, Cat, with that. Look, come on, Cat. We pay you like 60 million a year. I need that, man. I need that one, Cat. Jaylen Brunson took over this game in the second half. He almost had a three-point and the foul with about two seconds remaining. That in my biased opinion should have counted. But take a look at how Brunson just effortlessly is able to work one-on-one. He’s got a smaller player on him and a munchkin. He’s just going to work him off the dribble move. On this play, Cat’s going to set the screen. He’s got Jiannis on him. Pull up three. Knocks it down. And then on this play, he’s got Rollins step back jumper. This is a move that Brunson has perfected is just this mid-range just fall away step back baby jumper. He’s able to create enough separation. Remember Brunson’s only 6’2, so he’s got to create space. And then he’s got Gary Trent on him. You can see he’s just hesitating, hesitating. Gets to that spin move, of course, right? And then he’s got the ball on the right side. And a lot of these lefties just love this step back right in that spot. Knocks it down. It’s pretty much the same type of moves. It’s Brunson just getting to that spot. He just needs a little bit of space. And then Mitch is going to find him on this back door cut. Brunson, good balance, of course, to finish that off. You never know. as an offensive player if you’re going to get hit or not, but you just got to fight through it anyway and finish. It’s a good kick by Brunson. And Brunson just that triple threat move, right? Getting to that strong hand, just automatic. I mean, he’s so quick. I’m going to be honest with you, boys. Brunson has the best footwork in the NBA. I mean, this is on a different level. He’s got that on a string. I mean, Harris doesn’t even have a chance. And then Deuce McBride, just a little pull up three-pointer, little hop step, get to that spot. I mean, Deuce was awesome tonight. And then Cat finally able to get going at a quiet first half, but he’s able to knock down his first shot, the second one. Mitchell Robinson just completely took over this game towards the end of the second quarter. You guys can see it’s a 12-point game. And watch how Brunson is going to draw all three defenders. So, you’ve got basically to this point a triangle. I can’t draw, but you guys can see a triangle of defenders essentially, right? And then he’s going to split these defenders and it leaves Turner as the last man standing. And then he’s gonna wrap around bounce pass it to Mitch. This is why you want to have a sevenfooter just right there waiting for that pass. go up and dunk it. And now it’s a 10-point game. So the Knicks, they’re getting stops. Clarison drives downhill again. Just wraparound bounce pass to Mitch. And one would miss the free throw. That’s the one downside of Mitch. Well, two downsides. One is that he can’t hit free throws. And two, he’s usually never healthy. If Mitch can stay healthy, though, he might be one of the better centers in basketball without question. And then Hart pushing the pace. Clarison’s got it. And again, the Bucks are not set because the Knicks are running. And it allows Clarison to throw up a floater. So even though Clarkson gets the points for this, Giannis is not able to step up because if he does, Mitch is going to be wide open uncontested at the basket. It’s just automatic, right? It’s either a wide openen floater like this or it’s Mitch just getting a putback dunk. So it’s perfect. And now you’ve got Hart backing down Rollins and he’s going to end up turning. I don’t know why Turner contests this. I mean, this is a terrible shot by Hart towards the end of the shot clock. It’s a grenade. And by him contesting this now, it leaves Mitch of of course wide open under the basket against uh who Gary Trent who’s coming over and then Mitch just throws it up and in and he gets the foul because Trent ends up pushing him. You guys can see he comes over and he pushes him in the back and one again. Mitch would miss the free throw. And then on this possession, Clarison’s coming downhill. He thought about the floater, but he ends up keeping it and he’s got Brunson towards the top of the key and everyone’s just drawn towards Mitch. Like everyone’s so worried about the paint and it leaves Jaylen, but like when does Jaylen Brunson ever get a look this wide open, it just never happens and he’s able to knock it down. Brunson did think he was fouled in this. He thought he was hit. Cat coming downhill, kicks it out to Male in the corner and he buries that which ties the game of course. And man, I like this no call as well. Like I hate when you have a player driving and then it’s not even his man. He just like steps in to take a charge. Like I get it and all, but like good no call. Male Bridges, his first shot of the night is good to go. And then Male right here is going to get another one. Good fake. Throw up that runner. The Knicks would give up a three the next possession down the floor, which if you’ve watched the Knicks, shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Knicks are the worst three-point shooting defense in basketball. And it’s getting to the point where it’s very, very concerning, especially the way the Bucks shoot. I mean, they just had to be better in that first half defensively. This is why I say all the time that Mitch is the second most important player on the Knicks behind Jaylen Brunson. I think you could argue it’s probably a tossup between Mitch and OG. It depends which mood I’m in cuz the Knicks just aren’t very good without OG, but without Mitch, I don’t think they’d have any chance is kind of the thing. Like you could see the Knicks, they hang in there and they end up picking up the win without OG. But like without Mitch, I mean, the Knicks just they wouldn’t have even had a chance in this game. But we’re talking about a 7 foot big man who’s the best offensive rebounder in the league, one of the best ever. I I mean he just creates second chance opportunities and it’s not even him just getting dunks at the basket. It’s him also kicking it out to open shooters defensively. That size helps the defense. He sets screens offensively. Mitch just does so many different things. The one thing though is free throw shooting. You’re just leaving points on the board at the end of the day if you’re Mitch. and it’s going to make him very very unplayable towards the end of playoff games as we saw of course against the Pistons, Celtics, and even the Pacers when Mitch was drawing the starts towards the after the first couple of games is that teams will basically dare Mitch to beat them at the free throw line and he’s just not able to do that. Like even if Mitch could go one of two every single time down the floor, I don’t think any Knicks fan would complain about that, but Mitch is not doing that and it’s just you could tell it gets to him as well. Mitch, he does put the work in in the offseason, but it hasn’t exactly shown. Like, it hasn’t the hard work hasn’t paid off. He’s still shooting lasers at the basket. If it if it wasn’t a backboard, man, those balls would just keep going straight and straight. It’s fly over the rim. So, hopefully Mitch can just get a little bit more consistent there. But even despite the free throw shooting, Mitch’s impact cannot be overstated. I mean, wow. He just completely took over this game when the Knicks needed him the most. Down 12 points, 508 and then they end up tying the game. Of course, would give up that three to end up losing, trailing by one to that point. But I think the Knicks are at their best when Mitch is on the floor. They just need to find a way to utilize Mitch and Cat together because the spacing is better when Cat’s just the five. I think Cat just overall is a better player, but in terms of winning a championship, I don’t think the Knicks defense will ever be good enough with Cat at the five, which means that Mitch will have to play alongside him. And Mitch OG male, I mean, that that is a scary scary defensive punch because they can switch everything and they’re physical, right? They’re tenacious and we saw that tonight. And I’m loving the starting lineup of Duc and Hart out there. Good close out to this game. The defense stepped up. They didn’t give up those threes there had been giving up all night. And Jaylen Brunson again just took over when the game was on the line. The Knicks have a seven-point lead with 56 remaining. I have a feeling Jaylen Brunson’s going to put the Bucks away right here. Watch this. Jaylen Brunson getting to a spot. Followway jumper. It’s good. No, he missed. I’m kidding. I had to hype it up, but the Knicks do get the offensive rebound. It’s Josh Hart. Who else? And the Knicks can just dribble it out to this point. Man, I do want to kind of commentate. Let’s see if I can be a Knicks commentator. Oh, Josh Hart turns it over. The Bucks down seven with 36 remaining. They need a three though if I’m being honest.

Mitch was -4 tonight. Needs to be better
Agree that no team with KAT at the 5 can win it all unless you have some defensive anchor type at the 4 like KG or whoever to protect the rim. We need Mitch or someone else like him, Hartenstein wouldve been perfect if we couldve kept him somehow then we wouldnt neec to deoend on Mitch so much.
Edit: sad part is our staff and GM damn sure knew we needed another real big not Yabusele size and I know or hope they didn't think Huk was ready yet.
Rick Barry offered to coach Mitch on shooting underhanded free throws, which would make a lot of sense. I guess his ego can’t take it. It is too bad because his contributions are otherwise awesome.
Kat a net 0…. we need better from Kitty Kat! JB 🔥 tho he's doing it all
Yeah I said the same thing that Mitch should try the Rick Barry free throw style! I think the NY fans would go crazy if the started making free throw that way!
The scariest thing I saw was that we try to lose games. If Giannis wasn’t on minutes restriction, we would’ve lost. Detroit better, Miami, Orlando etc etc. Even bad teams are close to beating us. So as a Die Hard Knick fan, I’m not impressed…
Trade a highleaper Giannis in KATS spot and it's guaranteed championship for the Knicks🏆🏆🏆
I’ve seen enough of Kat. He needs to be traded if he doesn’t improve by the trade deadline. He only plays well against the worst teams in the league.
We don’t have og at the moment h would’ve guarded Giannes
The big players like Mitch who can't shoot free throws should learn the underhand throw and could end up instead of shooting 50%, at like 75% or more… You know what stops them from doing it?
EGO
Brunson is "allegedly" 6'2 just like Iverson 😂
Interesting how most of the Knicks podcast wanted Josh Hart traded during the early season, now that he's back to his old form? Welcome to the Knicks fan base.😂😂😂
Whoever is Mitch's free throw coach should be fired. If he is just working with his old high school coach, that needs to be changed. That line drive shot kills him. No arc at all. He doesnt give it a chance for a shooters roll.
With Josh with 15 rebounds
This dork is unlikeable
