  1. That’s good for d Petey. But bizarre they didn’t let him
    Join the ahl last year

  2. Makes sense. Tolopilo won’t have enough time to become an NHLer now that he’s a parent.

  3. D-Petey makes sense. He has not been looking good most games, even with sheltered minutes. This is why I really wanted Forbort back, because he was still a dependable veteran.

I am not saying Forbort would have changed the fortune of this club, but it would have given D-Petey more development time in the AHL, which he clearly needs.

  4. I remember thinking at the time it seemed kind of foolish not to let D-Petey join Abby for the playoffs.

Last season was his first year in North America, so it’s not like he had a ton of AHL seasoning.

  5. He was fine with toch just saying. This is 100% bullshit get this guy outta here now the development of our up and comers is dwindling

  6. I know Adam Foote is “Captain or Team Tank” or whatever the joke is, but young players keep regressing under him. Raty’s stats at the end of last year (10 last games or so) put him around the high end of an NHL 3rd liner. EP25 was profiling better than most 3rd pairing guys in the league.

It’s clear Adam Foote does not know what he’s doing and the management team is just letting him keep this job at the expense of players on this team. Like, rookie careers can be ruined with crap like this. Is this really worth the risk?

  7. We know what D-Petey can do. It’s just a matter of time before he gets back to that level and exceeds it.

My only worry is he got dinged in the head last season if I remember correctly. Just speculation but that might be the reason he took a step backwards so far this season. Another reason might be losing Tocchet’s strict structure which elevated certain players who need structure to shine.

  8. These guys all rookies playing over their head in roles that they are not ready for.

A good team with depth would have had an opportunity to sprinkle them in. But here on this team they are being asked to play big minutes vs teams top lines.

The entire team other than maybe a couple guys, are playing above their weight class and it shows

It not Foote regressing them more than they are not ready and it shows.

Just remember, everyone wants Malhotra, and yes I like him.

But what has he done with his group this year???
It’s the same thing isn’t it?

  9. EP25 needs a reset . Let him play some big minutes down there and get his confidence back .

  10. I am going to be in the minority, but this has been a long time coming.

At his age I want to see him be dominant in the AHL rather than get exposed.

Foote is not doing him any favours.

  11. A 21 year old, 3rd round pick struggling in the best league on a team with the worse goals against needing a recalibration in the minors: I am ok with this.

I wish our team was good enough that the bringing up, running them out, and sending back prospects was part of development and not a reaction to injuries and poor team play.

  12. The new direction from the front office is to get younger. So sending our young D-man to Abby fits that new direction…..

  13. So Foote’s conclusion is he’d rather play Joseph than D-Petey…

    Lmao, what an awful coach.
