After a hot start, the Nuggets are now ranked 16th in defensive rating.

It’s a bummer but to be expected when you lose your 2 best defenders in CB and AG. That’s 40% of our staring lineup which is tough to overcome.
You do realize we’re essentially down 2 starters who also happen to be the best defenders, forcing one of our other defenders to play as a starter and kind of killing the rotations we can play right?
I’d like to point out during the hot start that opponents were shooting well below league average against us for the first couple weeks. It wasn’t because of good defense. They were getting plenty of open shots and just not converting. That was with AG and CB.
Teams are making their shots now.
I think it’s a bigger problem than just available personnel.
Missing you two best defenders is going to make your defense worse shocking I know.
If this team can have average regular season defense they will be a real threat in the post season. These numbers just don’t matter, 4th seed sounds fine to me. Play whoever round 1, OKC round 2 so we have an easier conference finals to maybe get some rest before finals. Not getting the finals without beating the Thunder anyway. All about getting healthy.
What losing Braun and AG does to a mf
A lot of people here are pointing out that having CB and AG get injured is the culprit, but I don’t buy it. A serious contending team cannot go from a top 3 defense in the league to 16th just because 2 guys go out. The Thunder haven’t had their best defender all season, but they’re still on top. And that’s exactly the kind of team the Nuggets have to become if they’re going to beat OKC.
For the last several years, the Nuggets have relied on Jokic being the most dominant offensive player of all time allowing them to just outscore everyone despite their shitty defense. But that’s never worked well consistently and the number of random bench players who’ve had career high scoring nights against them is just crazy,
There’s 62 games left. We’ll be fine see y’all in the WCF
We won the chip with a 15th best defense. Just need to get healthy and show stretches where they can defend on a top 10 level
