He was an afterthought in the Glen Rice/Eddie Jones trade but quickly became one of our most important players and was a huge part of our most successful era. Always one of my favourites to watch, he brought 100% every single night.
R.I.P.
that sucks. I was even thinking about that 2001 team earlier today
I was working at a game store in Stonecrest back in 2000 and he came in to check it out. Real nice guy. He was wearing all purple Hornets sweats. He was huge!
Mannnnnnn that’s a bummer.
He was such an underrated player.
One of my all time favorite trading cards is this one of Elden dunking on the entire Mavs franchise including baby Dirk. Mason is in there too. Double RIP
ACC legend in addition to Hornets player as well. I met him when I was a kid at this ACC all-stars thing right before he got drafted. He was the biggest person I had ever seen at that point in time. One of the nicest guys at that event too. Some of the players seemed to just be going through the motions, but he seemed genuinely happy to meet the kids at the event.
