Miami Heat Created A MONSTER
DaVon Mitchell was such a dog. He gets me excited when he plays defense. I take you to their comeback attempt against Detroit. They ended up losing, but that’s not the point. This was a great stretch to showcase what he brings defensively at his best. He really ignited a run that gave them a chance in a game where they should have just got blown out. Keep in mind he’s listed at 6 foot 210 lb 6’4 wingspan and he’s going toe-to-toe with Kate Cunningham who’s listed at 6’6 220 lb 7 foot wingspan to start it out Kade is trying to set up a screen and at this point I’m like yeah DaVon is going to get screened. This is the perk of being undized though. He squeaks through like a nimble cat. No advantage is created. Nice crossover. However, he’s right there for the next move and he pokes it loose. Couple possessions later, DaVon gets shifted a bit, so he’s forced to switch. You see Kade lighting up with Glee because he’s like, “Finally, I’m free. I can I iso.” DaVon notices that Cade with the tunnel vision, so he sneaks behind him like a cheetah on the hunt. Once he spins, guess who’s back, and that leads to a sick alleyoop and one on the other end. About 30 seconds later, he avoids the screen. Kate is ahead a bit, but DaVon with his speed does get back in front, forces him to half spin, and as soon as he fully spins, he pokes it loose. Unfortunately, on the other end of the floor, he smoked the layup. But we can just ignore it because three stays on Cade Cuttingham in a matter of 2 minutes. That’s just unbelievable. It felt like I was watching prime Drew Holiday. And I found this funny. Look at Cade. He did not want the smoke in a do or die possession. He’s doing everything and anything to screen this monster away. And that’s the smart move. But man oh man, as a teammate, can you imagine watching your smallest guy consistently go up against very tall individuals and just give them hell. I mean, watching that type of effort, spoiler alert, that inspires you to play harder and it sets the tone. the Miami Heat with the way they operate and run their organization, it was a match made in heaven from the start. I I knew eventually he would live up to his potential with them. And it’s not just his defense. He’s having a career year offensively, averaging 7.8 assists per game currently. That’s ranked sixth in the NBA. He has a total of 163 assists. That’s ranked fifth. But the icing on the cake, only averaging 1.5 turnovers per game, only a total of 32 turnovers on the season. That’s the least amount among the leaders, and it’s not even close. He’s taking care of the basketball at a crazy level where it’s really hard to comprehend. On top of that, he’s been efficient from everywhere on the floor. He’s shooting 40% from three on 2.7 attempts per game. He’s also shooting 50% from the mid-range region and 53.5% in the paint. Both 82nd percentile above average per pivotfade.com. The only spot on the court he’s been below average is the restricted area, but that’s not very surprising considering he’s only 6 foot. And in my eyes, the percentage ain’t that bad for his role and his size, 62.7%. Plus, he’s shooting 67.3% on driving layups this season, which is good for 86 percentile. The mid-range has been a huge development. It wasn’t even an option for him before this season. Low volume, and the volume is definitely still low, and it’s kind of a last resort option for him. However, it’s gone from a disturbing 28% last season to 50% so far. So right now, DaVon Mitchell is scoring at all three levels, and he’s doing it pretty efficiently, and he’s not relying on others to create shots for him. Half of his buckets are unassisted. And also, keep in mind, he’s doing the assisting. He’s dishing and dying to everybody and anybody. And a big change to the Heat this season is they’re playing much faster. Literally, last season, they were ranked 27th in terms of pace, and now this season, they’re number one. And Eric Spolstra has said multiple times, DaVon Mitchell is a big reason for this. Whenever he has an opportunity to, you know, pass it up ahead or, you know, dribble quickly up the court, get in a set or just Iso or whatever, he’s doing it and he’s doing it quickly. And that’s what stands out to me for DaVon. He does everything quickly. That’s how he’s been getting to the basket. That’s how he stays in front of people. He also has quick hands to get steals. In terms of loose balls, he’s quicker to them. And my goodness, his step back so damn quick. Currently one of my favorite players to watch in the NBA right now. He’s such a dog. OMG… it feels so good to be a HEAT fan. This is mind-blowing what we are witnessing here. Just makes me laugh at all the Jimmy Butler glazers who wouldn't shut their pie-holes until about 3 weeks ago. 😂 And look at Jimmy now, over in Golden State toxifying their locker room as he embarks on another "joy" journey. 😂😂😂
I leaned about him at the beginning of the season, NEVER bet a point prop or an over on a guard against him
'Off-Night'😅😂… Dude has the best nickname in the NBA since "Tne Mailman"😅
He was with the heats g league 5 or 6 seasons ago. His nickname is Off Night
He's on a 24/2 contract. Steal.

Baby Hardaway 😂😂
Smallest guy on the court yet he barks and piss with the big dogs 😂
If you're a hard worker, want to learn and being held accountable, The Culture is the place for you 🔥
6 foot 210 is a gahdamn NFL running back. Cades not moving Davion off his spot!
His been a defensive DAWG since his Sac days, I think what the discussion needs to be is how the heat system turned him into a point GAWD
Crazy how sacramento had haliburton, fox and mitchell.
