Ben Simmons WANTS TO RETURN To The Philadelphia 76ers? Sixers Rumors + Quentin Grimes Injury News
[Music] I cannot believe we’re doing this again. The Ben Simmons rumors seem to come up at least once a year and right now Sixers fans all over social media are talking about the idea of bringing Ben Simmons back once again. Although this time it’s kind of because of Ben himself. We’ll get into this whole situation, but before we do, let’s just get the question out of the way early here. Would you bring Ben Simmons back? Give me an S for sign. Give me a P for pass. We can debate it down in the comment section. So, let’s get into why we’re talking about Ben Simmons because trust me, I’m not going to talk about Ben Simmons on this show unless there is a really good reason to do it. And I didn’t even want to talk about this, but I felt like as a host of this channel, wanted to keep you guys informed, I had to. So on Instagram, a fan asked Ben Simmons, “If the Sixers asked you to come back to play center and power forward, would you come back on a minimum contract?” Ben Simmons said, “It’s not about the money. I would hoop there for free. It’s deeper than what they make you guys believe, which is why I keep it pushing. Right now, the focus is getting the body to 100% before putting my health in the line again, like I have been the past few years.” And it wasn’t just that. Also, recently, Ben Simmons on one of his own Instagram posts liked a comment from somebody who said that Ben would be a great fit on this current 76ers team. So, it is Ben himself who is sparking these rumors that he could return to Philadelphia. I’ll keep it real simple for you guys. My answer, and I’m talking about this on a YouTube short that I’ll post in a little bit. I tweeted about it as well. No, I don’t need Ben Simmons back on this team. Whether you think he can make an impact or not, yeah, I guess we can debate that. But I just don’t see that working out in any way. Even if Ben apparently does think so, even if he would play for the minimum, or I guess in his case, he would play for the Sixers for free, which is a crazy thing to say on social media, he knows that’s going to blow up. And look, when we talk about the situation, right, we can have a real conversation about possibly bringing him back. Forget about the drama, right? Even if Ben just left Philadelphia on good terms and there was no bad blood between him and some members of the organization and him and a lot of the fans out there. Although I think a lot of the bad blood between Ben and the fans has died down a little bit. Even if you throw out all that, I’m still not in on bringing Ben Simmons back because he just isn’t a highlevel player anymore. And that’s not to say back in the day, I mean, he wasn’t great. I had a Ben Simmons jersey. I loved Ben Simmons when he was in his prime playing at an allNBA alldefensive level. We don’t have to rewrite history and say he was never good, but we can also acknowledge the fact that today, December 3rd, 2025, Ben Simmons just isn’t a good player anymore. I mean, look at what he’s done the past few years. obviously had that hold out with Philadelphia, goes to Brooklyn, spent some time with the Clippers, and the the numbers, I guess they don’t look horrible when you consider, you know, impacting a bunch of different areas on the court. But look, there’s a reason that he didn’t stick around with Brooklyn. There’s a reason that he didn’t stick around with the Clippers and that he didn’t get any run really at all when it came to playoff time for the Clippers. And there’s a reason that he doesn’t have a job right now and he’s a free agent as we enter into December. And Ben said it himself in the Instagram comment that he is not healthy right now. His focus right now is getting his body back to a point where he can be back out there on the floor and not feel like he’s putting himself at risk. And if you remember, these are back injuries Ben Simmons is dealing with. I don’t think these are going away anytime soon. And I really doubt Ben plays at all this season because he wants to get back to 100% healthy. So you’re talking about signing Ben Simmons. Shoot, it’s not going to happen this year. I would highly doubt that. And there’s a chance Ben Simmons never plays basketball again. Look, he’s made his money. It’s why he said he would play 100% for free. And he just can’t be out there on the floor staying healthy. He’s not a good enough player to risk signing him, taking up a roster spot for a guy who is not going to be out there on the floor and again might never ever play again in the NBA. You combine that with all the latest, you know, the rumors and and the drama with him and him calling out the Sixers a little bit in that comment saying there’s stuff that they haven’t told you guys about that y’all don’t know about. Who knows what he’s saying? Obviously, the Sixers organization has had some drama with players back and forth, but I’m good on the Ben Simmons thing, but had to talk about it because it is making its waves right now. Now, still to come here on the show, the Sixers got fined by the NBA. Of course, it wouldn’t be an NBA season without Philadelphia getting fined. Plus, the latest injury news and a standings update after the Sixers beat the Washington Wizards last night. Before we get into that, shout out to today’s sponsor here making everything possible on today’s 76ers now and that is our friends at DraftKings. Minimum odds required. Additional terms at dkng.co/audio. Limited time offer. Busy night across the NBA. Sixers do not play tonight, but a lot of other teams do. Some picks I like out there. Denver is seven and a half point favorites against the Indiana Pacers. Pacers are awful. Knicks coming off a loss to the Celtics last night. think they bounce back against the Hornets. Who’ve been playing better ball of late, minus 8 and a half favorites there. Atlanta three and a half point favorites against the Clippers. The Clippers are a disaster. Give me Atlanta all day. And then Detroit four and a half point favorites against the Bucks. Some rumors starting to circulate that Giannis actually requested a trade already from the Bucks. Kind of crazy, but Pistons have been hot. Give me Detroit, of course. All odds and lines are subject to change. Shout out to DraftKings for sponsoring today’s show. So, let’s get to some of this news here on this Wednesday, December 3rd. The Sixers, big shocker, getting fined by the NBA. Happens every single year for different reasons. Here in injury reporting reason, NBA announcing today, Sixers have been fined $100,000. Really, nothing to them for violating league injury reporting rules. Sixers failed to accurately disclose the game availability status of Joel Embiid prior to their game against Atlanta on Sunday. Embiid was listed as out in Philadelphia’s initial injury report and subsequently played in the game. This fine does take into account the Sixers prior history of fines for violating injury reporting rules, which again happens every single year. And I tweeted this out. It’s not an NBA season until the Sixers get fined by the league for something related to usually Joel Embiid and his injury status. probably happened here on Saturday. Embiid was listed out on the injury report, but we know with Embiid’s status and his injury, one day he can feel good, the next he can feel fine. He probably woke up on Sunday and was like, “Huh, you know, I’m feeling much better than yesterday. I’m good to go.” Doctors check checked him out, saw he was 100% ready to roll. And they were like, you know what, they probably knew they were going to get fined, but they said, “Let’s throw him out there anyways if he’s good to go. We’ll risk taking the fine if he wants to play.” But NBA just continues to find the Sixers year after year after year. Let’s get to some surprising injury news. So, this was right before that game against the Wizards happened yesterday on Tuesday. Quinton Grimes was a late addition to the injury report with calf tightness. Second player now this season, early season to miss some games with calf tightness. VJ Edgecomb missed about three games with some calf tightness a couple of weeks ago. And look, obviously calf injuries are nothing you want to mess around with, right? Because they can long-term potentially lead to Achilles issues. I don’t want to obviously bring that into the air, but it can. That’s why VJ Edge was held out for some time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Quinton Grimes misses more than just that game last night. Of course, it was against the Wizards, so you don’t really need all the reinforcements out there against Washington, but Grimes missing time with calf tightness. kind of kind of injury where you play a lot of minutes, you you’re playing hard out there, which Grimes is, this can tend to, you know, lead to some issues. So hopefully he’ll be okay, but I would expect Grimes to potentially miss a few more games. Now, be honest with me before we get to the standings update here. Are these Sixers injuries starting to concern you? I’m not talking about him beating Paul George. Obviously, they’re dealing with their own things that they’ve been dealing with for a while now, but you know, we’ve seen Maxi deal with some stuff, BJ Edgecom deal with some injuries. Now, Grimes, Andre Drummond, Kelly Ubé, uh, Trenan Watford, Dominic Barlo, almost every everybody on this roster has dealt with an injury at some point. And I think it’s starting to get a little concerning again, not just for the Stars, but for everybody else on this roster. Give me a yes, give me a no. Are you starting to get a little bit concerned that maybe injuries could derail this season once again? And speaking of this season, this is where the Sixers stand after last night’s win. Really a a game you had to win against an awful Washington team, even though they did just beat Milwaukee the other day. Sixers now 11 and9 in an Eastern conference that’s been a little bit more competitive you know at least depthwise maybe the top of the conference obviously you have Detroit there but I mean is anyone really scared of the Pistons or the Raptors or the Heat up there at the top the Knicks just lost to the Celtics who also continue to have a pretty decent season. So six are still in there firmly in the playin at number nine. You know as we approach the trade deadline we get closer and closer players can be traded starting December 15th. It’ll be interesting to see what direction Philadelphia goes. Do they make a run and try to add somebody? Obviously, they don’t own their pick this year. That’ll go to Oklahoma City. All right, that’ll do it for today’s show. Again, I just can’t believe we’re we’re sitting here again and this Ben Simmons stuff is coming up. Just I can’t have him back on the roster. As I mentioned though, players can be traded starting in 12 days, December 15th. You want to stay updated on everything going on with the Sixers. We got you right here on 76ers Now. YES! I would for league minimum. If he changed his mindset and go back to who the 76ers drafted.
P
I would say, let him come back.We need a big body.He don't have to shoot just rebound and pass.He still has elite defense
if they bring him back i will officially disown the Sixers
S
I would bring back Markelle Fultz before I brought back Simmons. Absolutely no doubt.
no
If he was serious, he would start at the G league and proves himself….. It's Time to stop babying players
Honestly, for the vet minimum why not? If he’s being genuine it could be a cool opportunity for him to right a past wrong if that makes sense. Even if he signed I wouldn’t have any expectation of him besides what we’ve seen the last few years…DNPs or injuries. Chances are this doesn’t happen anyways if were being real though
If Ben Simmons returns to NBA then it should not be to 76ers. There is too much trauma in this relationship + expectations would be otherwordly unrealistic.
S
P. why would anyone allow this man to STEAL more money from this city. I say NEVER mention him again…especially coming back. He has No game, no work ethic, and is chasing a check for his high expenses. Thankfully we have Bob Myers…Will never happen again!!!
Ssssssssss
I'll take Ben Simmons over Bona
Ben Simmons makes one bad play and the whole world hates him he brings a lot to the table other then scoring
Pass
S
Sign him we can use the defense and passing we do not need him to shoot lol
P
P
Yes I would. Bring him back.
Ngl I don’t fw Ben Simmons at all but he’s actually going to play with some effort fr and take a HUGE pay cut bring him back
Pass
