Alek Manoah CAN’T Be the Solution for the Angels’ 5th Starter #RepTheHalo #GoHalos #Angels #LTBU

He did return from surgery and he made 10 rehab starts in the miners in 2025. He posted a 3.96 erra with 35 strikeouts and 23 walks in 38 and 2/3 innings. That included a 2.97 erra in 33 and a third innings in AAA Buffalo. Big question is do these numbers give a better narrative about Monoa than maybe what’s out there right now? because what’s out there seems to be like uh he’s kind of like in the the the bargain bin and he really struggled. I think it tells the story of somebody who’s coming back from Tommy John surgery. Mike, it’s $2 million. It’s not a big deal unless their plan is to put him into the rotation. This can’t be the last move that they make for the starting rotation. Somebody has to be six, seven, eight in the pecking order. And every time somebody is signed for that six, seven, and eighth spot in the pecking order, everyone goes, “Oh jeez, here we go again. Bargain bin.” These moves happen every offseason. In case you haven’t noticed, these kinds of things happen every offseason. We have to stop thinking about like, “Well, you know, it’s a lowrisk, high reward thing.” Like, yeah, that’s what this is and that’s what everybody’s saying. That’s what we’ve said. However, it’s frustrating that we have to say that again. It’s frustrating that we like that has to be the Angels fans mentality. And if the Angels don’t provide better than this in the off season, it’s going to be another rehash of what they’ve been doing over the last few seasons. And that’s why fans are frustrated. I get it. There there is an element of it’s nuance, right? Like it’s both can be true. You could be frustrated that this move happened because yes, it is low risk, high reward. And the fact is you you got to sign guys like this. You’ve you’ve got to have them on your 40man uh as part of your roster.

  3. Guys, by now! We all should know GMPM'S philosophy he's been the GM since 2020 when Perry took over. Every off-season and deadline samething. These moves shouldn't shock anyone.

    I am really starting to believe. GMPM'S being competitive is signing castoffs, dumpster diving searching for the diamond in the rough. It's hard being a fan with this GM. I guess I am a true sicko.

  4. You are correct, signings like this happen every year…. and every year the Angels stink lol. I really thought team was going to make a pivot to run like an actual MLB organization after the Ward trade and Rendon buyout talks…. but nope! Same old Angels! Definition of insanity is doing the EXACT SAME THINGS and expecting different results.

  6. Angels will continue to look, like they did after signing Hendricks. And then by spring training when no other starting pitchers are signed, they will rely on Monoah,

  7. It’s going to be another rehash of the past few seasons. PM is not going to spend money on free agents because of the Skaggs lawsuit.
