Cleveland Guardians STRIKE in Free Agency Add Connor Brogdon RHP to the Bullpen #mlb #guardians

The Cleveland Guardians strike in free agency. I’m Jeff Ellis of Lockdown Guardians. Let’s talk about the Cleveland Guardians newest addition, Connor Brogden, right-handed pitcher, who will likely be a part of their bullpen. Connor Brogden comes over from the Angels. He came up through the Philadelphia Philly system, though, and had his two best years in 2021 and 2022 where he is an above league average reliever. Since then, he’s bounced around because he hasn’t been effective. What’s caused the change? Well, he’s walking guys at a higher rate and his left on base rate has gone the wrong way. More guys are scoring when they get on base and he’s putting more guys on base. Mostly works with a fast ball and change up. Neither of those pitches really flash. Plus, bottom line, how much do you trust Cleveland’s ability to identify traits and fix pitchers? This one doesn’t make as much sense to me as someone like Matt Festa if I’m being honest. But at the same time, it’s only 900k. League minimum is 780. If it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. But there’s something they see there. And the Cleveland Guardians are about as good as it gets in terms of looking at pictures and realizing when there’s more on the bone. Make sure to check out Lockdown Guardians for even more information on the addition of Connor Brogden and anything that happens relating to your Cleveland guardians.

  1. HR/FB rate demon bit him the last 2 years. 66% in 2024 in limited major league innings and 18% in 2025 after being around 10% his first few seasons.
