Shout out to these two, they’ve been showing up the last few weeks. Magee has been matching his feet with his eyes these last few games and looks to be carving a name for himself regarding our future plans. Mikey is also back to his 2024 form, since he took over outside after the injuries to Marshon and Amos. I say keep him outside where he has sideline help and sign a nickel who can be the vet presence for Amos and Mikey.

Magee makes mistakes, but he plays with such intensity and fire, he makes up for it. Kinda like we saw Luvu doing last year.
Mike has shown he can be a good outside corner. Curious if they try him inside again next year or what.
Either way, both these guys and Amos taking another step forward would be huge for this defense.
I understand that Mikey played nickel in college, but this is two times that we moving him outside due to injuries and it’s clear as day that he is much better there. No more experiments with him I hope, leave him outside.
magee developing is a massive questoin mark for the speed of our defensive rebuild. If he can land himself consistently in our starting rotation it gives us a lot more flexibility in where we spend our open money.
Always good to see upside from the young guys. We still need a stud though on that side of the ball. If all we have to show after a couple of offseasons is a handful of above average players and JD5 that isn’t enough, need to strike gold.
The Sainristil nickel experience should be over until we have an elite pass rush. He’s clearly much better playing outside in zone than inside in m2m. But if we get a better pass rush next year, I could see a move back inside working out as that’s where he operated in college. Time will tell.
Magee fast as fuck boyyyy
Mikey is just better outside. Definitely surprising seeing as he played inside at college, but honestly, works for me.
Mikey and Amos should be a solid core of CBs going forward.
Magee stepping up would be huge, looked good and really hope he can stay on the trajectory. We likely need more LBs, but getting 1 good is a great start.
Magee erased any doubts I had about him in the Dallas game. Multiple times took on double teams with violence. Haven’t seen anything super negative about him since either so other than the occasional wrong fill, it’s been more than a few weeks of well above average play for him. Also, seems to have figured out the whole hurt/injured thing too so the sky is the limit for him.
They like Mikey inside because of his tackling ability, want him in the box & don’t like his lack of size outside. But at some point, gotta go with what’s on film and not how it looks on paper.
