me talking to myself writhing in pain on the floor after eating my 6th slice of pizza
I know it isn’t a shocking relevation but hearing him take unfiltered responsibility is still refreshing.
At least he’s holding himself accountable. I can respect it. Hopefully we come out swinging against LA!
probably a good reminder that these guys are putting on a character at the podium
I watched this episode today and it’s really interesting how a lot of the discussion is based off the limited times we see the players on the TV.
“Hurts just sits there, never talking to anyone,” is something I read/see often. Yet here we actually see accountability and him engaging with other players. Maybe we should stop making wild theories up based off seeing a player for a fraction of a second on TV. He does it with the Smith throw earlier in the game as well. Gets up and goes to apologize and take accountability.
It’s anecdotal but it reminds me of when people assume how I feel based off my facial expression. I am admittingly not good at hiding my emotions but people make up wild shit based off the configuration of my face. They are often very wrong and make shit personal when I am thinking about something completely different.
I’m glad these are coming out, it’s annoying seeing him sulk around on the sidelines after plays like these. Easy to bash him after seeing it. So seeing him actually talk his teammates and take accountability is a good thing to hear and see
I love Hurts but what QB wouldn’t say “my bad that’s on me” in that situation?
QB1 taking accountability
That’s on him but that play looked so easy. Dude literally just walked into Hurts and took the ball off him, it also came off way too easy.
Truth
Dude I love seeing this side of Jalen
This is great to see, I didn’t think he was like this
I’ve been through the spectrum of opinion on Hurts over the last three years and what I’ve landed on is he is an incredible QB and leader playing in a flawed system. The Eagles run an incredibly limited offense because they have an immense amount of talent. That has worked some years with a competent playcaller but the blame too often is set at Hurts feet when they fail. There is no doubt in my mind that he plays the games the way he is instructed. It is not his preference. He can be better but so can literally every other player in this offense. They are not well coached right now and that leads to several mistakes at many different positions. So much of what people think about Hurts comes from quotes without context and assumptions. I hope they let this man loose and stop playing scared.
I love those touques dang
We need more than 1 short yardage play. Even if it works most of the time its just emblematic of how stale and predictable this offense is. Instead of building off of this formation and maybe getting a few more yards we are just happy to bash our heads into each other for the 1 yard we need.
As critical as some of us are with him at times (admittedly, I’ve been more critical of him this week than most), you can never say that he’s not a leader and doesn’t take accountability for when he comes up short. He doesn’t get flustered, he doesn’t let his emotions fuck his his game, and he doesn’t make excuses.
Never forget that is as Texas as a dude can be
Wish camera angles live during the game would show us when he’s talking to other players rather than only showing when he’s sitting by himself with his brain turned off staring off into space
The “FUCK” he lets out before the video cuts is missing.
