CANUCKS ROSTER MOVES & HUGE TRADE UPDATE: VANCOUVER’S ASKING PRICES REVEALED + BOESER, PETTERSSON
[Music] So, we have ourselves some Vancouver Conucks trade updates and roster moves to dive into today. Nothing too big, but I guess stuff that we do need to talk about when it comes to the makeup and the progression of this hockey team. Let’s start out with what is actually real, and then we’ll get into what could be. Because the Vancouver Canucks made themselves an announcement earlier this morning. GM Patrick Alvine announced today that goalender Nikita Tolapilo and defenseman Elias Peteron have been assigned to the Abbottzford Canucks. Now that is not really all too surprising when you look at just the way the team has been assembled the past few days. Yes, Tolapo had himself a pretty strong win against the Anaheim Ducks, but other than that, he didn’t get too much of a sample. He had some losses thrown in there. It’s whatever. Nobody was expecting him to be the next coming of Thatcher Demco anyway. But once Tolapilo left the team for the birth of his child, the Canucks had to call up Yuri Peter on emergency conditions. And now with Lankanin back with the team too, it seems like the Vancouver Conucks are okay with just having Lankanin and Peter as the one two at the moment. Thus allowing the team to send Tolapillo down back to Abbottzford and allowing him to do his thing. It’s not an indictment against Toapilo that he’s getting sent down. I think it’s really just circumstantial. It’s like, okay, well, we already have Peter. We don’t want to send him down again. He’s been going up and down the entire year, it seems like. So, Toapilo, you can get some rest. You can have some family time. Go down to the AHL. Just do your thing. We need some goalies there. Anyway, so it seems like that’s the way Vancouver’s perceiving this. Meanwhile, you have Elias Person getting sent down too to the Abbottzford Canucks. He has spent the entire season with the main Vancouver squad and he had spent a good chunk of the end of last season too with Vancouver as well. Might I remind you Elias Person was not placed into Abbottzford towards the end of last season for the playoff run wherein they ended up winning the Calder Cup championship. At that time it was like okay well Elias Person is too good. He doesn’t need to be in the Abbottzford system. We’re going to keep him with the main squad. He doesn’t need that extra development time. Mancini, the Karamaki, Ratu, these guys can and probably should be down there. But not Elias. Oh no, not Elias Patterson. He’s too good. And it is kind of a shame because in the end of that last season, he was amazing in the limited sample size that he had. He showed off good skill, some snarl as well as just good decision-making. I mean, Elias Person had a very impressive end of season last year, but this year he has definitely taken a step back in those departments. Decision-m is just not there. The effectiveness and how he does things not there. And so I think Elias Patterson, this was about time for him to get sent back down, maybe get a little bit more of a role as a top defenseman on an AHL team instead of being thrown to the Wolves on this defensively not sound Vancouver team who is winning games very seldom and who was just plummeting down the NHL standings. Meanwhile, when it comes to those standings themselves, you can say that for the Vancouver Conucks, the tank is going strong. But when it comes to players that could be on the move in this tanking scenario, looks like we have a few that may not be dealt. Take a look at what David Pñota said on the sheet two days ago with Jeff Merrick regarding the Vancouver Conucks. Brock Besser is not going anywhere. You’re not moving to Brusk. or Person, they are not waving right now. So, it does seem like most of the emphasis on Vancouver Conucks trade talk seems to be centered around a few names. You’ve got Kefir Sherwood, who of course is going to be on the trade block here. Super cheap player, very cheap contract, lots of goals, lots of points, lots of intensity and physicality. Sherwood can be seen as a very perfect trade candidate for a lot of these NHL teams that want to add some grit whilst adding a scoring element to their bottom six. Sherwood is a dog and I can’t imagine what he would be like in the playoffs. That seems like a transformative kind of addition. We also have Connor Garland trade talk that is going wild. Even though it seems like Vancouver doesn’t want to trade away Garland, it seems like interest in him is at an all-time high. And there could be an offer or two that maybe makes the Vancouver Conucks think. But for Elias Person, yeah, no, it doesn’t seem like he’s on the move. He signed long term anyway. 11.6. It’s going to be hard to move that contract. We just made a video about him. He’s been very good. I love Pey at this point. He has been such a redeeming story of redemption for the Vancouver Conucks. Brock Besser, it would be very difficult to move him, I think, at this point. He had just signed as well. and he seems very motivated to be a Vancouver Canuck longterm. Although at this point I’m starting to doubt whether or not the prime Brock Besser that we saw a few years ago is ever going to come back. You know, like 40 goal Brock, 70 80 point Brock, a guy who was a goalcoring machine back when he was a rookie with the Sadines in 2017 18. Like that was almost a decade ago. Brock Besser has been here for a long freaking time and it’s going to be really difficult to try to get that out of him. Jake De Brusk just signed so yeah, I don’t really think he’s going to go anywhere either. These forwards are not bad. Don’t get me wrong, they’re like middle six, top six caliber forwards on most teams, but if you’re a Stanley Cup championship contender, I don’t know if Brock or Jake De Brasque is a firstline forward at this point. Can Elias Person be that Barov like firstline caliber asset? I’d probably say yeah, but it’s hard to see that out of him because the wingers that he plays with just are not that great. But let’s move on to some other Vancouver Conucks trade talk. This is what Dominic Stramati went out there and said earlier this morning. Dollywall on Donnie and Dolly just said that the Vancouver Conucks, they do not want draft picks. They want to stay competitive, quote unquote. And there are a number of examples over the past few years as highlighted by guys like Thomas DR that indicate just how that plan doesn’t work. You can trade Yanick Hansen for Nikolai Gold Dolman. You can trade draft picks for Lucas Reichel. You can acquire Vitali Croft. You can acquire Eric Bronstrom. You can acquire Daniel Sprung. These guys who are not good on their old teams as young guys coming over to Vancouver trying to give them a change of scenery. This does not work. You’re not getting a cutter goce. You’re not getting a Yesper wallad. You’re not getting any of these guys that were available. You’re getting bottom of the barrel level replacement prospects that don’t have value. Vitali Craftsov stunk this season. Daniel Sprawn couldn’t hang in the National Hockey League. Speaking about that, doesn’t seem like he’s able to hang in the Continental Hockey League either. We’re going to make a video about that soon as well. But Vancouver has gone through this song and dance so much. They refusal to get draft picks. They just want to get guys who are 20, 21, 22 so that they’re young and they can compete and contribute to the team. Now they want to be competitive. Oh yeah. at the Vancouver Conucks, second last in the NHL competitive, right? Anyways, that seems to be the status quo of this team. I don’t know if internally they really do believe that they can be competitive with this roster once everybody comes back. Oh yeah, then we’ll start winning and then we’ll make the playoffs and then anything can happen and then we’ll get the 17th overall draft pick instead of being projected top three like the Vancouver Conucks are right now, which uh yeah, at some point I think we’re going to have to start diving into the draft and whom it is the Vancouver Conucks could take in the 2026 selection of guys. That’s getting excited, man. Like remember when the Vancouver Conucks were getting top five picks in 2016 and 17 and we were excited about whom they could take? Oh, could they get Matthew Kachchuck or could they get Casey Middlestead or Gabe Valardi? They got Yolvian Patterson. So, uh, one swing and one hit. But either way, we should be starting to talk about that again this year. So, let’s talk about that more as the season goes on. For now though, let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about these Vancouver Conucks roster moves as well as the trade updates. Seems like no PD, no de Brasque, no Besser moves, no Tyler Meyers. And it seems like the Vancouver Conucks don’t want draft picks. Or at least that’s what it seems like. Who knows if that’s actually going to happen. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below about these updates. I hope you enjoyed this British Ash and bye. [Music] [Music]

My opinion, get this looser organization out my city. They are run by amateurs that have no clue on how to build a solid well balanced team. This has been the story of this organization since they came into the league.
laughable. take the draft picks and good young prospects. canucks as a whole cant compete
Yeah boeser should go, hasn’t provide since forever
They are one of the worst teams on the league by alot. They are all better off in the AHL.
Debrusk needs to go. He not helping the team. Kane aswell
