POST-RAW | Kris Knoblauch 12.02.25

Uh just an overall thought on your team’s game. It felt like it was one of your team’s better uh defensive performances of the year. I thought overall it was a pretty good game. Obviously, you’re disappointed anytime you lose and you look uh for the negatives. You look to critique the wins or the um things that we didn’t do to get to win. You know, I thought they had some chances. Uh Stu came up with some big saves, but overall I thought we played a game where more often than not that we come out victorious and are feeling good about ourselves, but um you know, I think we had some probably not enough quality chances. I think we had a lot of possession time, shot attempts, shots on net. Um, you know, I have to look back at it, but um, you know, I right now from what I’m seeing, I’m disappointed that we lost, but it was um, more of what we need. Just an elaboration on uh, Skinner. It felt like he was hanging in with Wallstead kind of every step of the way there a little bit. How was his compete this game? Yeah, I thought Stu played really well. We needed uh, I think the first goal I think there was a redirection. I think it hit a body in front that just changed directions slightly. Um other than that, he’s he’s perfect. He made some big saves when we needed him. Um you know, uh in the third period, I’m not sure what what they had for chances on the on the penalty kill. That was a big opportunity for them to, you know, seal that game. But, uh we came up with a kill and Steu’s obviously part of that. But um yeah, I liked his game. Yeah. Did you like your team’s trying to put good games on top of each other here? Uh can you get over the result and and sort of, you know, allow your team to believe that they’ve stacked two good games at least together on each other or does the loss taint that or change that in any way? The NHL is about winning games and you want to win. But in the long picture, I prefer that we play the right way and we play the right way and well that we’re going to win more often than not. And tonight, I thought we had an effort and a game where we should come away with the two points more often than not. And you know, we we’ve had some games this year where we were terrible and we won games just by, you know, maybe our goalender was better or special teams, but there wasn’t much um to like about it. Tonight, I thought there was a lot of things that we did well and we play that game again. We’re going to get at least one, two, if not three or four goals. So, um definitely looking at the positive. I’m a class half full kind of guy right now. Chris, uh, what did you see on the six on four in the final 40 seconds? Um, you know, we probably had a little more time. We didn’t have to force it right away. Um, yeah, and then after that, we never got it really set up. So, um, I don’t know. You six on four, you want to get the puck to the net. You’re going to outnumber them. Um, but with the guys that we have, you know, you’d like to get a better opportunity, but you know, the puck’s not in my hand and they see something, they’re going to try and take it. Um, last thing you want to do is pass the puck around the outside and not generate anything. But there’s a balance on, you know, playing with that urgency, getting it to it to the net and trying to score and trying to make a play. So, and more often not they find ways to make plays.

  1. Skinner had one of his better games, even though the goal was on him. And offensively we were very weak, our game is predictably throwing the puck behind their net, no combinations, not good PP. McDavid forgot where the net is.

  2. Oilers playing one of the best teams in this season , Oilers played very well , the only goal was a blast in off the faceoff. Only one goal is improvement in consistency .
    Good job guys.

Stu, glove hand has to come up faster . other than that, great effort by everyone .

  3. This was actually a pretty good game for the Oilers. They out shot the Wild, dominated the face off circle, and had more o-zone time. They just couldn't solve the Wall.

  4. The Stu haters really have to reach tonight ๐Ÿคฃ
Honestly, Stuey was great!! Gave the team every chance to win he could, and nearly kept up with the opposing goalie. There were definitely a lot of Wild players feeling robbed tonight lol.
Tough game for the forwards, especially McDrai. There were a lot of passengers on the struggle-bus tonight…
… But Stuey wasn't one of them ๐Ÿ˜†
Jokes aside, I'm proud of our guys for hanging in there!! It was definitely a full 60-minute effort, and like Knobbers said, there were still a lot of improvements visible on the Oilers tonight!! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

  5. Win one lose one or two, Oilers are just that an average team playing .500 hockey, Skinner was the weak link letting in a easy save that a top notch goalie wouldโ€™ve stopped.

  6. The Oilers had a few chances, but the "other goalie" was better again.๐Ÿ˜‚Knob is running out of excuses

and I have a feeling that if the Oilers don't make the playoffs this year, Knob will be fired.๐Ÿ˜œ
