The STRANGEST mask in NHL history…
The guy that made my masks all these years was Michelle Lef fever. One day as I was playing for the Nordiks at the beginning of my second year there. I hear a knock on my hotel room during training camp. I opened the door and and that was him. He says there I made a mask for you. See if you like that. And it was the the mask that everybody talks about and uh you know I looked at it and I and I tried it and I I like that it covered the neck. I like that it came away from the neck so I could I couldn’t have any problems bending my my head down. When I got to Pittsburgh the following year, I just had a friend of mine just paint it with the the paint job that everybody knows the mask for. Yeah, that’s the last mask I had. I kept it till the end of my career for the last few years. But uh I had other mask before and uh and they were they were all uh kind of similar to that but they didn’t have the neck piece you know they weren’t as long as as this one eyes.
Michel Dion’s Penguins mask wasn’t just iconic — it was one of the STRANGEST goalie masks in NHL history. #nhlshorts #nhlhistory #nhl #pittsburghpenguins #micheldion #nhlhockey

Most bad ass mask. Mike palmateer used to wear a similar style, but not with the cool neck extension.
