Mini-Movie: Chargers Bounce Back & Sweep Raiders | LA Chargers

It is a beautiful day in Los Angeles. The Chargers looking to cook up something special against the Las Vegas Raiders. 212. Chargers coming off a buy. Prior to that, a brutal loss in Jacksonville. You got some time off. You know, I thought it was good for everyone to get their bodies back. The buy, I think, really tied in the opportunity to really dive into some stuff. So, looking forward to the next challenge. This is a refocused and recharged Chargers team coming off of their buy. Jim Harbaugh told us they have to have a playoff mentality with every game and every opponent going forward. Win the next game. Dominate on three. Dominate on me. One, two, three. That’s how I make sense of it. Huge game, Raiders. So, it is a rivalry and we know they’re going to bring it. It’s a rematch of a week 2 game in Las Vegas, which the Chargers won 20-9. And LA has won the toss. They have elected to defer. Hey, set the code right now. Chargers, like we said, will start on defense and an opportunity for them to try to get back to what has been a dominant bunch. Yeah, let’s get ourselves ready for that. Um, win the next game. We’re underway at SoFi Stadium. Hungry defense taking the field, guys. Cam Hart says everybody’s itching to get back out there, especially after the long bye juice to be back up. Play action. Gino drops. Work, work, work. Now throws underneath. Swatted down at the line of scrimmage by Tulie. And here’s Gino to pass. He’s under duress and trying to escape. He can’t. He is dropped. And what a way to announce your return after a byee. A three and out including a sack. Hey. Hey, nice job. Nice job. Chargers offense after forcing a three and out from their own 25 yd line. Offset eye. Third and three. Keenan, he’s just a vet. I’ve been been watching him since I was in middle school pretty much. Raiders rush just three and now on a delayed bits. Here comes five. Keenan with a catch and a flag. I don’t know how the heck he came up with that. Hey, good ball, boy. He’s a legend to be completely honest with you. At this point, we can call Keenan a Chargers legend right now. They rush just two. There it is. Quick pitch and catch right at the marker and he fought off two Raiders to pick up that first down and you need to keep the chains moving. Keenan is your guy. It’s always good to kind of just you know bounce ideas off of him or just um you know taking some of his game and add it tomorrow. Herbert looking left. Pressure’s coming. Throws middle. Q get into the end zone. Touchdown Chargers. Q got hit at the four. did a little shimmy for a 10yd connection. Daddy’s the kids. It’s Q’s seventh receiving touchdown of the season and Herbert’s 20th touchdown toss. It’s fast. It’s physical. Coach Mer just wants the best for everybody. There’s a hand off to Genty. Genty spun back in the line of scrimmage. Stop. He’s he’s a young guy who understands the game at a high level and just gets a yard on the play. Thier Tart on the stop. He puts players in the right position and he coaches the right things. Pressure coming. Gino hit. Gino set. Dwan James out of here. Unimpeded. And Gino felt every last ounce of that man’s body on that hit. Whether it’s bursting to the ball, using your hands, getting off the blocks, making tackles the right way. I think he just preaches team defense. Tosses out wide and that pass is broken up and is that intercepted by Tony Jefferson. It is. What a grab. Let’s go. TJ, that man plays and that man makes a big play every time. Hey, sir. Hey, that’s what you do, baby. That’s what the you do. That’s what you do. Hey, let’s go. Let’s go. Chargers got to find some answers. They certainly had it on defense, man. They were dominating this game. Forced an interception, couple sacks on Gino Smith, some three and outs. Just a weird game and you can even feel it in the stadium. And then the Herbert injury just kind of got things weird and all these Charger fans a little trepidation with that injury to Justin Herbert. And Justin Herbert will get the football to begin this second half. And there’s the pitch to Videll. He’s got to get to the corner. He does. There he goes into plus territory. Vel on his horse. 30 20 10 Gman Videll. Touchdown Chargers. 59 yds and the energy is back in the buildings. What he has done in the absence of Omari and Hampton is a big part of the Chargers storyline this season. Hey, way to get out there with clean feet. Clean feet. All it takes right sniff his ass off. Great job. Three plays, 67 yds, 57 seconds. Chargers back on top. 14-7. Juice is back in the building. Let’s go. Hey, just eyes, discipline, execute. Overcommunicate the calls. overcommunicate. Jesse takes the pitch on this one and he’s stuck. Needed three. Got one. It’ll be a third and two. Third down, money down. Third down, money down. Man, we just called it third down money down. And um I think that’s pretty cliche throughout the, you know, throughout football. I ain’t even going to say throughout the league, throughout football because I think everybody understands how important third downs are. One of three on third down. This will be a third and about a yard and a half. Smith in trouble and he’s sacked. Two pull two in the back field. And a big play on third down. If you don’t let a team continue a drive, if they constantly punting and they constantly have to kick field goals, that’s another thing that’s just deflating. You know, you getting the offense off the field, they can never get in the rhythm. You get them to third down and you guys are having great coverage. You got a great rush, you get a sack, you get a turnover, you get a pass break up, and now they got to go try off the field and go back on the sideline, talk about it again. Hand off to Genty trying to work the right side of that lineup now. Cuts back toward the middle. Tackle it. Good. Good job. Great job. Great job. You got to win situational football. Third down, money down. Got to have it. So, you really just got to lock in. Whether it’s third and medium, third and short, third and long, third and XL. Uh, doesn’t matter. You got to win the situation. Got to get off the field. What a run bit by Denzel Pam. That brings up a third and five with Bowowers, the motion man. In motion left to right. Joins Bash. That’s where Gino’s looking under pressure and he’s dropped again. Now let’s go Deshawn Han and Khalil Mack all there. A loss of eight and backto back drives by the Raiders ended with a sack. Yeah, baby. Tie a piece. Not to mention, you know, we have the best quarterback in the league, you know, so constantly giving that guy the ball back, it does a lot. We understand what we have on the other side of the ball. You know, given number 10 chances, then we we gonna score points. And now Herbert is coming back in to a huge ovation here at Sofa. He’s as tough as they come. Big story this game saw Herbert with an issue to the left middle finger of his nonthrowing hand. Steps up, eludes the rush, and he’ll wisely go down before Jeremy Chin could hit him again. And another part is like with him like that just it takes it to another rug. It’s like there’s never any like grimace or flinch. There’s Herbert to throw middle of the field. Trey Harris with the first down grab into plus territory. Do your go pretty pretty amazing. And a couple impossible throws after that, you know. It’s amazing. You know, we uh incredible. And again, Herbert with that glove on the left hand makes it a little bit awkward as he’s in the shotgun. They need to get to the five, but he’s standing on the 12. Herbert to throw, looking for Maki. And now he’s going to take off. He’s being pressured to the end zone. Maki caught. Touchdown Chargers. And he’s laughing. He’s just so much lighter. It’s just fun to see Justin Herbert having fun. Yeah, especially in light of the injury. Yeah, Justin buying some time, extending the play out to the left and Maki does a nice job seeing it’s a broken play working back to him. Baker’s kick is good and the Chargers are up 14. The way your defense is playing and got a beat on this passing game for the Raiders, that feels like a big big obstacle for them to overcome. Hey, listen. Hey, knowing what they’re going to they’re going to try to get the ball to 89. All right, they’re going to maybe run some screens, maybe some boots, maybe some deep shots. All right, let’s go. Let’s see if the Raiders can respond. And at first down, play action for Gino Smith. Locates Gentiw. Nice job, too, man. We just went out there, played hard. You know, ain’t nothing new, ain’t nothing different. And cleaned out shy of the first down marker. They’re going to say about a half yard short. Guys were able to fly around and you seen in the fourth quarter, third quarter, guys were able to hit another gear. On third and one, Chino throws incomplete. Let’s see what Pete Carol wants to do on fourth and one. I think we’re getting to that spot in the game where you have to go for it. This is the eighth drive today for the Raiders and they have six first downs. Genty, the running back on fourth and one again to Genty and he’s tripped up. Hell no. Hey. Hey. Get that sweet out of here. Tulie. How about Tulie with a sack and with the stop. A turnover on downs. And he is fired up. And so is this crowd. DJ. Yeah. Yeah. The response is the response. You got to respond with actions, man. Yeah. There’s been some hits today. I think we played a lot more physical at the line of strength. Gent is crushed in the back field. smart technique-wise up front. What about the performance of this Chargers defense? They’ve been stellar this afternoon. Stopping the run, getting after Gino Smith only allowing 14 points in this contest. That’s a dominant mindset right there. I love that. Be a nice statement drive right here coming out of the buy and be able to put this game away with a nice little four, five minute drive, get some points here. It’s huge just moving those chains, you know, going to the next set of downs. is huge just cuz if you get stopped on that third down, you know, one the momentum goes to that defense. They feel that. It’s a big one now. Like to get at least one first down, take two or three minutes off this clock. Throwing on the run. He’s got McCunky for a first down. That’s a big one. Under six minutes now. You get a big third down, you’re essentially crushing the defense. Will third down and four. Herbert and John has this one. Another third down conversion. They start to feel that and especially you start putting it together with a long drive, you know, those guys, they start to feel that and it kind of just you kind of like delivering body blows to to the defense. And now a flag is down late. There’s a late hit on Herbert. Give him an extra 15. That’s going to be on Crosby on the field. Whatever. Yeah, John. They can get two L’s, too. So, the ball is now at the 27 yd line. a four-minute drive. We’re up by whatever. We can end the game with the ball. We get two or three first downs. We’re running the ball. We’re trying to run the clock out. We’re just leaning on them, right? Videll all the way to the 17 yd line. It’s very satisfying cuz you can see the frustration sometimes on the field. Like, man, like what do we got to do to stop it? Like that’s a very satisfying feeling to feel. Here’s Trey Harris on third and two and he picks up the first down. Another third down conversion for Los Angeles. They are now 12 of 17 today. That’s the feeling that you’re looking for. There’s nothing like it. It’s pitches to Patterson. Working left. Patterson all the way down at the first down marker and it looks like he’s got it. It’s a hard to describe feeling honestly. 2414 Chargers at the two-minute warning. You were going to score. You I mean we up we already up too, but you good. Definitely score. How about the trust of Jared Patterson coming up from the practice squad again. And they’ve trusted him with the football a lot today. Let’s get Jared Patterson a touchdown, huh? Hand off to Patterson. Patterson into the end zone. Touchdown Chargers. Jared Patterson. And this Charger ground game has absolutely dominated the Raiders. That’s how you going to win the game. What did you say, DJ? Let’s make a statement. That’s how you going to win the game. Go get it then. He said a 4-minute drill. Instead, it was a 5m minute 54 second drill. And they cashed it in for a touchdown. I know. I was going to have to call you a little drive, huh? Good drive. That was awesome. Just going put it away right there. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Take two knees. Chargers sweep the Raiders again in 2025. You’re about to be 4 and0 against them. Oh, keep going. Yeah, love me, too. Chargers get out of here with their eighth win. They’ll improve to 8 and four. Four and zero in the division. Hey, that was one great win. That was one great win. Keep together, everybody contributing. Our fates are intertwined now. Five more weeks to see if we can play six. See if we can play seven, eight, nine, whatever it is. The road the Chargers still have to travel to get to the playoffs. This was an absolute mustave. Yep. And they took it right now. We are on the road, baby. [Music]

  1. Minter to GRO screentime ratio = 1539 : 1. LOL. We're gonna lose Minter to a HC position next year for sure 😄😮‍💨😪 He deserves it but we need him so badly!

  2. I thought the 'Trey coming in for Justin' moment deserved inclusion – that was the most emotional moment of the game – and the peak challenge the Bolts faced – when people realized Justin Herbert was injured. Great vid as usual from the best SM team in the business, but felt like it missed the most important moment of the game.

  3. I love that we're giving Minter his flowers, but can we keep him on the hush and just pay him head coach money to stay as a defensive coordinator?! 😂
