TNF’s Andrew Whitworth: Don’t Count Out Joe Burrow & Bengals Playoff Chances | The Rich Eisen Show

Brother, I have been taking a beating from this chair for months. Okay, hold on a second. I’ve been taking a beating from this chair for months over me saying the Bengals season is not over cuz I believed in Jake Browning and then I believed in Joe Flacco and then I’m like, “Hey, Burrow is coming back and now I saw what I saw on Thanksgiving night.” Okay. And they’re just two back. That’s it. They’re two back but they’re in Buffalo, Western New York. Burrow versus Allen. Good oldfashioned December football, man. Is the Bengals season over, Andrew Witworth, or are you with me? What do you got? Never over if Joe Burrow’s got a chance, baby. If Joe Borrow’s around, there’s never I feel like all we are is back to last year, Rich. I mean, I’m back to last year watching them on this chase, all these things. I’m I’m like, dude, did we just get back to 2024? What happened? because it’s just now we’re going to sit here and play the game of if this team beats this team and this team beats this team and then they could win this game and then he’s going to play out of his mind. Uh, you know, I don’t think, you know, I think Ryan Fitzpatrick is probably nervous this week because Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills, he he knows it. He knows what happens because here’s what happened. Not only did Joe Burrow come back and play quarterback last week, apparently he also played middle linebacker, free safety, rush end. Like all of a sudden their defense is good. Like what? I this doesn’t make any sense. I don’t know what’s happening, Rich, but it’s Joe Burrow apparently makes everyone better. Uh, so listen, I think it’s going to be fun and it’s going to be a heck of a war in Buffalo. Um, I this could be, man, the story if Joe Burrow can go get this dub uh of the rest of the season is going to be a lot of fun to watch. It is so much fun and it all starts on Thursday night on Prime Video with Cowboys at Lions. What a week. Awesome stuff. Fitz and Wit is going to be a great pod to listen to certainly off of Burrow V. Allen coming up this weekend. I can’t wait to see the rest of the season with you and the rest of the crew on Thursday night. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. Why does the media keep doing this every year with Joe Burrow like he’s Tom Brady? Joe hasn’t done anything in this league besides that one year he made it to the Super Bowl.

  2. worst case for cincy… most likely not making it, along with only worsening their draft pick for next year… its like pittsburgh most years. mediocre ending, still no playoffs AND a mediocre draft pick.

  3. If Joe burrow wins out and has a couple 3 t.d games and a couple 4 t.d games and they make the playoffs Joe burrow should be the most valuable player! Would be 8-0 with him and 1-8 without him.

  4. Not nearly as many ifs needed this year…bc 3 of their 4 wins are div wins. So there is a very real scenario where if they end out 9-8 they win the division. Wildcard isnt even a discussion this year Whit..which was what the ENTIRE convo was about last year. Only thing that comps to last season is they need to win out…which they ALWAYS have to win out. Almost nothing is the same…including them starting out 2-0, which they also never do lol

  5. Did Al Golden bite off more than he could chew when inheriting a problematic defense? With so many rookies and young players, looking like they did in their last Superbowl run against Baltimore with the turnovers, we'll see Sunday if he's got the defense corrected.
