Is THIS the main problem that the Canucks have right now???
All right, Conucks lose to the Colorado Avalanche by a final score of 3 to1. And look, the ABS are obviously the best team in the NHL. They’re fast, they’re strong, they’re big, and that really showed. The Canucks, look, they showed effort. I can’t say that they aren’t trying because I’m watching the games and they are grinding to try and stay in these games. The problem is they just flat out aren’t good enough. They don’t have the legs or the clinical ability to finish on the chances that they do get to be able to keep up with these top teams in the clip that they are playing at. Honestly, you watch the Canucks in the offensive zone and they’re doing whatever they can to try and keep the puck out of the net, but they look like they’re in survival mode. The ABS are just skating circles around them. They can just retrieve the puck and create chances like that. Meanwhile, the Canucks, it takes them a while to even get into the offensive zone. Creating chances and scoring and hitting the net is just another story. Probably the thing I’m most frustrated at with this Canucks team is the fact that they struggle so hard to even hit the net. They’ll have a couple chances in the slot, but it’ll get wired into a defender or wide of the goal. In regards to Quinn Hughes, his edge work, his skating, his hands are unreal, obviously, but it’s one thing to break a defender’s ankles, and it’s a complete different thing to put the puck in the net. I’m taking scoring any day of the week, and I think that Quinn Hughes in the offensive zone has to pass the puck a little bit more. His play has become very predictable, and you know, he’s going to shoot every time. And the worst part about it is it’s not like his shot is getting through every time. It almost always gets blocked or goes wide. He’s looking off the pass to Person who’s open on that wing and Person has a better shot than Quinn Hughes. Let’s not get it twisted here. It’s a harder shot. It goes in more off of his stick. I don’t know why he isn’t the primary option when it comes to just letting one rip. And yeah, he’s a great player Quinn Hughes is, but it’s getting frustrating to watch because it’s the same thing over and over again, and it just never works. I don’t know who’s to blame for this. if this is the strategy that Foot wants them to play or if Quinn Hughes is disregarding any sort of adjustments that they’re trying to make and he’s just trying to do it his own way. I have no idea. And I’m just kind of ranting. It’s okay. I’ll let them off. It’s the avalanche, so I wasn’t expecting a win, but the Conucks had the early lead in this one. It was a nice pass from RG Baines over to Lenus Carlson in front of the net. He dees by Wedgewood and finishes it beautifully to make it one- nothing for the Vancouver Conucks. Canucks actually didn’t play that bad in the first period. Yes, they were hemmed in their zone a little bit, but overall they were trading chances. Even Kier for Sherwood had a chance on a breakaway to try and make it a two nothing lead. Couldn’t score unfortunately. ABS in the final minute of the period get a goal from Nathan McKinnon who gets this one off of his stick very quickly with Lanken out of the net. Pio Joseph maybe could have done a better job at tying him up, but it’s one to one nonetheless. AV scored two goals in the second period. The first one is from Brock Nelson on this breakaway. beats Lankin inanin. And then in the final minute of the second period, it’s Nathan McKinnon who gets his second of the game. Just a rocket. There’s not much you can do about that one. 3-1 game. In the third period, it was kind of a dead stalemate because nothing was really going on. The teams were kind of traded chances a little bit. Conucks have a couple late, but again, it’s too little too late. They can’t get on the score sheet and they lose to the red hot Avalanche that stay at the top of the NHL. So, yeah. Yeah, I want to know your thoughts in the comment section down below. There’s not much I haven’t already said in previous videos. I sound like a broken record, but man, it’s tough. What can I say? At least if the Canucks continue losing, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. They have a very good shot of landing one of the top players in this 2026 NHL draft. If you want to see me make videos on the potential players that Canucks could draft with that first overall pick, all of the good players like McKenna, Stanberg, Verhov, Belchetts, let me know because at least that could be something that this team can look forward to uh by the end of the year. But that’s all for me in this video. Thank you for watching. Subscribe if you’re new. I’ll see you in the next one. Peace out and take care.
The Vancouver Canucks lose to the Colorado Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon in a game where Linus Karlsson scored the opening goal, Quinn Hughes tried very hard to get the offence going but was he trying to do too much?

What bothers me is Vancouver and was dead last in 2017 and yet they haven’t really done anything to show for it since then. A few top end draft picks and decent pick ups from trades/ free agency. But no system to back it up. Some games it looks like beer leaguers.
Why did I even get my hopes up on this game?? Shame on me 🤣
CAnucks sat back too much & could of dealth them clean but choose not to. Consistancy & awarenes were crap .
Interesting that someone notices the predictable plays in the offensive zone. Why is that – bad feelings between players or poor directives from management?
Second avs goal looks offside.
No Heart or Energy Anymore
As much as the ownership group of the Canucks would like to believe that rebuilding is off the table, it can’t be ruled out. Over-reliance on Quinn Hughes to provide point production on the back end has hurt the Canucks so much, with his existing contract set to expire in June 2027. There’s still time to trade QH but if he doesn’t want to re-sign, a rebuild seems pretty much inevitable.
Glad to hear someone criticize Hughes finally,I’m sick of everybody eating out his ass.
I don’t even watch the games anymore, just check the score and watch this recap
Canucks games are just eyesores.
Yeah there were too many "what if" situations this year "what if Demko stays healthy?" " What if Petterson has a bounce back year?" "What if our younger guys take the next step?" for this team to have sucess this season. It's been a pretty rough year so far…
They do t have a second and 3rd line that's the problem.
This was the same problem last year a handful of games with over 30 shots
Get Aquilini out of the office. He should keep his hands off. This is what happens when someone who isnt a gm tries to be one.
the Canucks have a better power play when Hughes isn't on the ice. Times when he has been injured, they get set up and get the puck on the net. When he is on the ice, seems like they stand around wondering what he is going to do next. Trade him for Bedard.
At first i thought the Avs second goal was offside. Nelson was ahead of the play
Hughes is putting the whole organization on hold. Trade his ass…tired of it.
I don’t know why everyone is so surprised. The Avs don’t lose and the Canucks aren’t very good. Do the math.
In over 60 years the Canucks have never had a first round pick.. yeah..thats fair..
EP 40, Boesser and Hughes just need a wider net to shoot at.
Yeah id be down for a look at the draft. Beats watching the games
1 nothing against avs is not a lead, you need at least 3 goals before you can call it a lead. So many grade A chances are not hitting the net thus scoring woes continue.
The problem as I see it is the lack of shooting. They say pass it as EP40 has a better shot. The problem is that he never seems to want to pull the trigger. EP40 will try to pass the puck from a great scoring position through 2 players to someone who is covered in front of the net.
Backchecking is none existent from some players. Instead of trying to do a stick check they need to take the incoming forward out of the play. They try a lazy stick check and then it is bye bye. You never saw Adam Foote just stick check anyone, he would always take the body.
Debrusk is a catastrophy in his defensive play
