[Music] It’s Bender’s postgame on YouTube presented by the Inside the Rink Podcast Network through insidethe rink.com. Hit subscribe now. Thumbs up. Uh Benders banter a little bit later on in the program. from three up, three down as well. Tell us your sips on a Tuesday night in the snow here in New England. Uh the Bruins lose the rematch to the Detroit Red Wings tonight in Detroit 5 to4. Um kind of the way I thought it would go. We talked about it last postame. uh almost 5-2 as my prediction was, but the Bruins again uh too stupid not to to uh just mail it in and try to come back and uh they fall short five to four. Um you know, just tons of breakdown. It it it was a it’s a miracle. It was five to four. Uh tons of breakdowns, you know, less than stellar goending. Uh defense just all over the place. Um just a recipe for uh a loss on the road. Yeah, they played bad. Uh got what they deserved. Um not not a whole lot to like really from tonight’s game, I don’t think. Uh with maybe the exception of Alex Steves. Um and Zidorov and Castellic, you know, getting into some uh misconducts and rough stuff. Uh, other than that, you know, um, not much to like if you’re a Bruins fan. It wasn’t a great watch. There really wasn’t much going on other than Detroit owning you in the offensive zone. Uh, too many mistakes, too many bad turnovers, too much too much bad puck management, you know, just the same old [ __ ] Same old [ __ ] uh when you play a team that’s um competitive that wants to win that um you know is trying to prove something based off of what happened in the last game. Um it’s a bad recipe for this defense. Um you know especially especially [ __ ] Andrew Peak tonight. She’s Oh man, it was bad. It was bad. Um we’ll get that’s a little foreshadowing. We’ll get into that uh at a later date, but uh a little later in the show. But uh I’ll tell you what, you know who had uh the fountain of youth that you’ve been sucking on lately is JVR. Uh he looked like JVR from 10 years ago tonight. Um he uh he snipes a goal. He was all over the place. Uh it it was really some of what the Bruins had from him a couple years ago on spec on you know specific nights he he did tonight to the Bruins. He uh he played extremely well. Um had the snipe goal. Um there was also the goal where Mo Cider who gets a little bit of revenge scores a goal where Andrew Peak is playing grabass in front of the net right directly in front of Jeremy Swayman. Uh no chance at all. can’t see the puck. It goes in the net. Uh poor coverage like be beginning of the season. Remember that high slot coverage that they just was non-existent? That was tonight. That was that was Victor Robertson’s man. Um and he looked a little rusty. He looked like he was out seven months, not seven games. I was just going to say he he looked like he hadn’t played in years. Uh and it showed, you know, healing one-times. Yeah, back to that thing. And uh and just Pat bad’s own coverage. Uh didn’t never had a shot he didn’t like. Shooting from all areas, even when they’re probably better plays to to make. Uh but, you know, he shoots from every [ __ ] way. Yeah, he does. Shooting from, you know, 55 ft, you know, in a in an oddman rush. Uh I’ll tell you what, another heels and fans. Heels and fans. Victor Robertson. I don’t think he’s nailed a one-time all year long. Yeah. Doesn’t seem like it. Jesus. Um, all right. Let’s bring in Chris Levali. Chris uh covers the Detroit Red Wings for Inside the Rank. Chris, good to have you on. And, uh, this Detroit team, uh, has had some defensive struggles. They did again tonight to be honest. I mean, the Bruins got four goals and some of it four coverage from Detroit. I just don’t see this roster having like a playoffbuilt uh, sort of acumen to them. They they have talented players, but I don’t know if they have enough grease and grind and and jam to uh to make any type of run. Well, you met nailed the hit the nail right on the head there with the defense. I mean, every game they’re trying to piece it together. Travis Hamick was a piece they had in almost every game this season. With him in the lineup, they’re 78-1. After tonight, he didn’t play. They had um Jacob Bernard Darker in they’re 73 and one without Travis Hamnick in the lineup. So, I don’t know what they’re doing. Every every year they try to like add these veteran defenseman and try to make it work with the young pieces and it’s not working. Like Hammock was a late offseason signing and has not worked this year. I like Bernard Darker in the lineup better and they seem to play better with him in the lineup. Cider, you know, Cider came out sort of gang busters, you know, really good pro prospect. Uh, you know, was getting a lot of fanfare. looked like he was going to be a really like a a stud type player. Um, hasn’t quite been there for me. And I’ll tell you what, he also has a death wish. He tried to go after Zidora after he almost had his balls beaten against Castleik and he tried to go after Zidorova tonight and it’s um, you know, I don’t know what he’s trying to prove. Uh, but uh, defensively, you know, not great. Uh, you can see all the offensive talent in the world, but Cider’s been a little bit of a disappointment. Cider, I think, is trying to change his game from what we’ve seen the last two years where he’s trying to be that tough customer for the Red Wings that they don’t have. And some games it works, some games, like obviously you’ve seen it the last two nights against the last two games against the Bruins, it hasn’t worked. And they need a little rough and toughness to their fourth line. I think that’s something this team is certainly lacking. Yeah, it’s it seems like Cider is trying to kind of fill that role cuz there isn’t really anybody else to do it. Uh so he kind of gets it by default because he’s one of the leaders on the team. So, uh you know, I think he kind of draws the short straw in that situation cuz I don’t think that’s really his game. I mean, he is a physical player and and he’s a a solid two-way two-way defenseman when he, you know, when he’s right. Um, but he has, you know, struggled a little bit in the last few years, but, you know, the team overall has struggled and I don’t know if you can put that all on him. You know, the goalending has been kind of an issue. Um, you know, how do you feel about do, you know, do do the Wings have, you know, a goalender um, you know, in the in the minors that possibly could come up here and and, uh, you know, be the one that actually fills the crease for them for the foreseeable future? I mean, over the last three weeks, it’s I’ve seen a lot of people calling for Sebastian Kosa to come up and get, you know, that third role and kind of have him fill in throughout games with Talib and Gibson. And he just had one of his best months. I mean, he won AHL goalender of the month. He won AHL player of the week this past week. He’s been nails in net for Grand Rapids. I mean, they have that piece. I think the future is KOSA and I butcher his name all the time, but Trey August Augustine who’s in Michigan State right now. Yeah, they have I think that’s their 1A 1B for the future. Um, right now I think it’s a filling with Talbot and Gibson. I’ve seen a lot of rumors of trading Talbot, which to this point in the season, I don’t think this team is anywhere close to where they are right now if they don’t have Cam Talbot on this team. So Talbot needs to stay whether that’s a and I’ve written about it and I’ve mentioned it a couple times that I think an extension needs to happen for Talbot to keep him here to be that bridge guy until both of those 1A 1B guys are ready to go. It to me it’s Gibson has not been the guy they’ve wanted and that might be he’s always been a streaky goalie ever since his time with Anaheim. So like is the streak coming? You know you kind of saw it a little bit tonight. He looked good in the first period, struggled a little bit later on. And then obviously in the last the Ford Final five, you know, everything came apart right there and, you know, kind of became a game again and it shouldn’t have been. Yeah. Well, that’s a better segment than the horseshit power play. What’s that? The uh what’s that called? Uh every time he says horse power play, I’m ready to say horseshit power play. Yeah. Uh so do you see like the Bruins, we have no idea there’ll be buyers, sellers, whatever. Uh, but do you think Detroit will actually buy some? And like you mentioned, maybe fourth line grinder type, add a little bit of sandpaper, uh, maybe add a defenseman like what what do you think they need and do you think they’ll go out and do it and try to make some sort of run? Because it seems to be, you know, the Lightning are playing extremely well, but other than that, I mean, it might be a year where you might be able to steal around uh, if you get the right pieces. Yeah, to me the Atlantic is wide open and I think they definitely need somebody that can be physical. They also need certainly some defensive help. There is pieces that they could go I mean I’ve seen one I saw this week and I literally said I will burn all of my Red Wings gear if this trade does happen. I’ve seen rumors of Quinn Hughes, but the return for Vancouver would be Lucas Raymond, and I’m all done if that is even a case. Yeah, because I don’t know about you guys, but I actually looked it up tonight. Lucas Raymond against the Bruins has scored in five straight games and has points in eight straight games against the Bruins. Yeah, a really good player. He is. And he’s still only what, like 23 24. So, he’s he’s going to be doing it for a long time. He’s going to be terrorizing the Bruins forever. Yes. um along with Dylan Larkin and you know some others. But uh yeah, I I don’t know. I wouldn’t make that trade either if I if I was the Wings. Um Quinn Hughes is dynamic, but he hasn’t been the same player the last year plus since he kind of got hurt there. Um so, you know, I’m I’m sticking with Raymond and and building with that nucleus that they have already in Detroit. They have the pieces and there’s more coming. I mean, if you look at their team in Grand Rapids, they’re I think they only have one regulation loss this season out of 18 19 games. So, they’re dominating the AHL. So, there’s pieces that if an injury does happen, they can call up. They’ve played well. I mean, I the trades, they do need some veteran leadership. The ones they try to it’s almost like a trying to stick a peg in a round hole. It’s they’re not it’s not working. like they’re just trying to find these pieces that can help lead the young guys like ASP and Cider and get those guys to the next level and they’re not the pieces they need and it’s not working right. Um and January 13th is the next uh Detroit Boston matchup and it’ll be interesting to see where these two teams are then a month from now, a little over a month from now as we head to the Olympics if they’re kind of in it, if they’re, you know, kind of fading some. Uh, Bruins have had tons of injuries. Um, you know, see what kind of health each team has, but um, it’s good to see, you know, I’d love to see them play a team like Detroit more often. Um, you know, original six, you know, Hockey Town against Boston, that whole thing. Um, but the Bruins, for whatever reason, have a [ __ ] of a time in Detroit. Oh, yeah. Even even in 2023 when they were beating everybody, they lost in Detroit. Um, I don’t know why that is, but tonight it looked like they were just a Detroit was a different team playing a lot more freewheeling uh and playing a lot more confidently than they did on, you know, on the road in Boston. Is that something this team does or or is that sort of an anomaly? Do they play well on the road? This game tonight, other than the two goals late in the third period, was hands down probably the best game I’ve seen the Red Wings play this season. And I’m hoping that might be a step in the right direction. Like they might be figuring things out and getting to the next chapter. Everybody that I mean every year we talk about this as Red Wings fans and I’ve seen it every group chat I’m in, everybody I talk to, March is the downfall of the Red Wings. And the November they just had was one of their worst months. They were I believe it was 57 and two in the month. And if that was if November was your March and what they play in April after those marches, if that can be your season the rest of the way, this is a scary team that could finish in the top three in the Atlantic this season. There’s questions obviously we talk about injuries and all that stuff. The question is goalending and defense. Like what are you going to get the rest of the way from your defensive core and what is Gibson going to give you? I talked about I talked about it already with the run. He’s a streaky goalie. So, we haven’t seen that yet. So, when is that coming? I’m hoping it’s coming January and then right into February. Hit that break and then he comes back and he continues that stretch after a nice solid break in February. And hopefully that’s enough to lead this team to a push to the playoffs. Do you want Corposalo? You can have Corposal and Jano are available. Two guys really help you. I like DPRO better. Yeah. Well, yeah. He likes Busy, too, but he plays with somebody else. Uh, yeah. Um, well, Chris, we appreciate you having me on and, uh, we’ll talk about it again on January 13th. Thanks for having me, guys. All right. All right. Crystal Valley if with inside the rank. You know, one thing about the Bruins aren’t very good on the road. I posted something today about Zaka who’s whose numbers are completely different on the road tonight. Sort of another night where you know Zaka Zaka. Uh but it’s Hampus Lynholm and another like holding kind of penalty like can’t get the feet moving. There were a few times tonight where he’s kind of running all over the place again. Just seems to be a little bit out of sorts, you know, and he can’t sit because Jesus, they have such a hard time with their defense right now. This will be the 10th this next guy that comes out with Callahan’s injury. This be the 10th defenseman they’ve played this year already in 29 games. 29 games. Yeah. And they don’t have more than five defenseman to speak of. No. So to play 10 right now is just not a recipe for No, I might I might I may finally get my wish and it maybe Frederick Brun might might be the next maybe. Yeah. I mean, you would hope like give him a shot. Give him a shot and maybe he’s pretty good. Like thank god for apricots. He scored tonight. Good for him. first NHL goal. He plays tough. He’s not great, but he plays tough. He’s done a stellar job for them when they really needed him. Thank God for him because if they haven’t had him, they’d be screwed. Uh and Andrew Peak, like you talked about, it hasn’t been a great year for him. It’s a contract year. Like, this is not the best contract year you can have. So, you know, I guess the other way you could look at it is maybe they can get him on a one-year deal or some real cheap deal to come back because he he hasn’t been good enough, you know. Yeah. I mean, great. I mean, do we want him back? I don’t know. I mean, have no right shot. Look, we we weren’t particularly high on him when they signed him to begin with and then he turned out to be a pretty good player, decent player. We thought at the time the contract was a little high because he was making, you know, almost three. Uh, and he and he and he wasn’t particularly good with Columbus before he came. Um, but he he’s proven to be a pretty good player overall. Uh, this year though, yeah, he’s struggling. Well, he also, you know, he also you have him in like the top four like when he’s a third pair. Yes. Playing 12 14 minutes. Fine. Absolutely true. But absolutely. No replacement for Carlo. And now Makavoy out, you’re you’re overexposing him. He’s playing 18, 19, 20 minutes a game. Abs 100% true. And that’s probably the reason that’s probably the reason that he’s having a bad year and he’s been exposed. He’s playing against better players uh in more minutes. So, um you know, you you’d like to limit him. Um but then you have Yokihu and you’re certainly certainly not playing him in the top four. So, um you know, we talked about it a bunch after Makavoy on the right side. You are like anorexically thin. Like Yes, you are. You are ridiculously thin on this all through the organization. Yeah. Yeah. Um so, you know, they need to figure that out sooner rather than later. And and whether it’s trying to trade somebody at the deadline and getting a right-hand D back with some term, maybe um maybe that’s something you see them look at. You know, do you trade a Zaka or a Middlestad for a [ __ ] right-handed defenseman? Yeah. Some term, right? That might be the move. That might be the move. I saw a mock draft today where they were picking like eight and 13 or somewhere around there and there’s two right shot D’s. Two right shot defenseman because they need [ __ ] both of them. Uh so it’ be interesting to see if it’s Brunay. The other guy was Soda Sodestrom. He was god awful in training camp. they sent him first to Providence like he was putrid and I think that’s the hesitation. I mean you have no right shot D in your system and he’s the one guy and you don’t bring him up over and over again tells you something. Uh so I wonder if he’s the guy that comes up uh if Callahan’s out. Yeah. I I mean I feel like it should be Brun. I He’s playing pretty good. I believe he scored tonight maybe if I’m not mistaken. Um, so he’s been pretty good down there. Um, you know, by all accounts and he’s a pretty good two-way defenseman. Gives you a little offense. Can play some D. Um, you know, I thought he should have probably gotten a chance before Lori, honestly, but you know, that’s just me. Uh, but that’s how they do player development in this organization. So, you never quite know uh what you’re going to get or where people stand. You know, it’s same with Fabian Lysel. like, you know, he looks like he’s having a pretty good year doing things, you know, uh, pretty well in in certain games and doesn’t get a sniff and they call it Merculov and play him less than 10 minutes, right? Like you you you just never know what these guys what they’re going to do and what the player development, you know, looks like. it. It I I really want to get Riley Tuy on at some point and we will um because I want to ask him, you know, is does the organization when you get called up, do they give you a role? Do they give you a message about what they’re looking for from you? You know, or when you go down, do they give you a message, hey, this is what we want you to work Yeah. this is what we want you to improve. Like, I want to know those things. I want to know what the organization is saying to these guys when they go up or down. Yeah. And and you know, I want to I want I want to hear from the players mouth, you know, what that is cuz I I’m curious. I’m curious to see because I have no idea and I don’t think they do either about the player development system. What do you got? The what the players are told is probably along the lines of great job putting in the hard work and playing the right way. Come up here, play your game, do your thing, and play a solid two-way game. and you’ll be all right. Yeah. Unless you’re Fabian Lysel, then you can’t play your game. You want to play the game that we’ve created for you instead. You know, unless you’re an offensive player, too. Come on now. He sits in the stands. Unless you’re an offensive just smack him with a stick and set him in the corner. Yeah. Or they say, “Hey, Fabian, you need to play like Patrice Berseron does, and the first time you make a mistake, you’re going to be benched or sent back to Sweden or wherever the fuck.” Yeah, Sweden. Yeah. Uh, hey, all you nutty nut bags can get a a huge huge erection tonight after after Nutty gets a goal, his first point in eight games. Um, you know, he he produces tonight uh a a big goal, you know, the third goal. Uh gave him a chance, but uh you know, he uh you know, it’s it was a nice play. Yeah. Uh, and then Steve scored late and then um, you know, hey, look, he went to the right area. Good friend. He did. He did. And the defense was nowhere to be found. He And it was a nice It was a nice tip. Yeah. Can we call him Nutty Nutsack now? Nutty Nutsack. Yeah. I’m I’m all about Nutty Nutsack. Yeah. Uh, is Swayman Hurt says Dylan Donald? No. They just pulled his ass. They pulled his ass because he gave up five goals on 19 shots. Yeah. And out of [ __ ] 783. I just uh I just stole one of my downs. So there you go. There you go. And someone else in the comments has another one of my downs. Uh okay. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was he was kind of red light red light swaying tonight. But hey, you know, again, and then Corposalo comes in. This is what this is what you can’t stand about Corposal. He comes in and makes like two or three like 10 bellers and when it’s five to2, right? And he’s coming off the bench. I bet you $100 that he goes in Thursday night, he starts the game and gives up a goal within the first [ __ ] two shots. Guaranteed. Yeah, probably. Go ahead, Con. Look, I think he’s a great goalie when there’s no pressure on. Yeah. So am I. It’s it’s like he looks like Ken Dryden when he goes in or or you know Martin Prodor when he goes in when it’s 5-1, but when he starts a game, you know, they score immediately. But when it’s 5-1, man, he’ll hold the four. Oh, he’s holding for, you know, 25 [ __ ] third holding the fort at 5-1 to cut it to 5’4. Great. You still lost. But um you know, I don’t know. I just I’m I’m uh I’m tired of Corpus. I am too. I’m tired of the whole thing. Really? Conor’s a big Brandon Busy fan. Go ahead, Connor. Well, I mean, you guys had joked about it before that Corposalo should go in after like the fifth shot of the game, but the unfortunate part is Jeremy Swayman also gives up a goal within the first three shots of the game. So, you basically just start the game with an empty net. They’ve done it like a dozen dozen times. You know, it’s uh times. Yeah, it’s been quite a bit. And you only played 29 games. They’ve done it almost half the season they’ve done it. So, that’s that’s not great. Uh, and the team can’t come back. Like Zack Hayes says in the comments, like that’s another they’ve had a few of these where they start to crawl back, but they can’t quite get there. It’s kind of this fake intensity, fake fool’s gold like effort to try to get back into the game and try to and try to tie it up and they just can’t do it. They don’t have enough firepower. And luckily Luckily Steve has Steves has five goals in 12 games for them. He has four he has four four goals in his last four games now. Yeah. I mean, he’s he’s done really well and he’s going to stay. And Carter Green is saying that you’re going to see an Alex Steves extension very soon. He is. He’s he’s all about it. Yeah, he’s saying it. Uh damn. If you extend Steves, then you if you extend Steves, then you really have no You’re running it back next year. Like you have no spots. No spots. every all of these guys are going to be back. I really think Sweeney thinks if they get a healthy crew that they’re a pretty good team. I really think so. He does. He’s sorely mistaken, but he does think that. Sorely mistaken. Just uh FYI, 14 times in 28 games. So, okay. Half half the season in in in the first three shots. And you this team cannot fall behind every single night. There was another This is another night where they’re six and nine now when they give up the first goal. Like they have to score the first goal. Yeah. You know, um and Detroit was 73 and one or something. Yeah. I mean, we’ve talked about it all the time. Like they they’re not an offensive team as much as people say, you know, they they scoring goals, which, you know, they h they are. They scored four tonight. I mean, that should be good enough to win most nights. Not tonight, but most nights it should be. But so they’re scoring, but you know, they’re they’re not offensively talented. They’re still scoring goals, but they’re not offensively talented. I I will be stunned if this team makes the playoffs. I really will. I think Parson’s going to be out for a little bit more. I mean, they want him to skate a couple of times before he hasn’t skated yet. No. So, they want him to skate a couple times before he’s gone. He’s out at least another week, week and a half. Makavoy is out for however long. Um, you know, so so get some of these guys back. Arbitson was holy dog [ __ ] tonight. Like he he looked like he was he has been gone for a year. Mhm. He was just not good. Um, Middlestat wasn’t great. Like again, not really fighting for pucks, losing the puck too easily, trying to make a plays not there, you know. Um, so but they’re getting these guys back. But I I think, you know, without Parson, it’s going to be really hard on Geeky and it’s going to be hard on the team that he’s not there, you know, and it’s um I don’t not sure what happened with Pasta. It’s a lower body, right? Is that what it was? Uh I don’t know. I don’t think they specified. No, I don’t think so. Mr. Poe, we appreciate you, buddy. Yeah. Thank you, buddy. He said he’s convinced Swayman and Corby traded jerseys tonight. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Um, you know, that’s the thing about the Busy thing. Like Busy was actually he had he didn’t have a great year. He had a decent year. He didn’t have a great year last year. D Petro was better. Yes. At the time when they I I thought that his stock was lowering at the time. I’m like, okay. Like I I got it. But I think that this shows you that with Vladar in Philly and with Busy in Carolina, I think it shows you you got to give your young goalie a whack at it. And right now, Corposalo is blocking DPro from for getting a shot that I mean, I said that when they acquired the guy in the [ __ ] first place. I said Brandon Busy should have the job. And then, you know, he didn’t and then DPro had a better year than Busy. And then I think DPro should have the job. Busy left. You know, it should be a rookie. They don’t need a $3 million back back stop backup that doesn’t [ __ ] do anything, right? He’s not very good. I mean, it’s plain and simple. He’s not very good. He doesn’t offer you anything that a rookie couldn’t give you. And a rookie can give it to you for less money that you could spend and somewhere else on the roster where you need it. It’s it’s just mismanagement. Again, you don’t need to spend 11 million bucks on the goender position. Swayman’s 825. You spend [ __ ] 935. Like, you don’t need to go blow blow extra money on that position. If you have rookies that are decent, they can give you what Copasalo gives you. There’s no reason to to uh to to have taken him back in the trade. There just isn’t. There just isn’t. Um, one of the commenters on here says that it’s a groin for pasta. Uh, I don’t know how how that true that is, but I I would assume it probably is some lower body. Yeah. If they want him to skate, if they’re not skating, yeah, it’s it’s lower body. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I mean, it’s look, um, the team is up and down. It’s an average team and you you you play 15 and 13. It’s a 500 team and that’s what kind of what you’re getting after all is said and done. And it’s not going to be good enough because you’re playing more games than other teams. So right now they’re kind of up against it. So you have to go on like a little bit of a tear here. But I mean this is what average to bad teams do. You know they win at home and they lose the road. Yeah. And they’re up and down and they’re inconsistent and you know Swayman, you know, for the most part is giving you a chance. That’s why you have 15 wins honestly is because he a chance because the defense isn’t particularly great, you know, and and certainly injured. It’s not great at all. Right. Um, you know, when everyone was healthy, they had a little run there, but um, you know, when they don’t have their full complement of guys, you know, it’s, yeah, it’s asking a lot for the rest of this group to, uh, you know, continue to stack wins together. Sure is. All right. Just checked the box score after the first. What the [ __ ] Sorry, John. Even Sway looks to be playing questionably as he was. The first two goal, I mean, the first goal, you’d like him to make that save on JBR. He’s coming from an angle. You’d like to make that save. The second goal had no chance. I mean, that’s just Andrew Peak just completely in his jockstrap sitting there. And Victor Averson not anywhere near most not anywhere near he he he collapses down in front to create more of a screen. I don’t know how he doesn’t. They kept talking about he got lost. Didn’t know what How do you not It’s the left [ __ ] point defenseman and you’re the right wing. Go out there and [ __ ] get him. Like I don’t know what the problem is, but he he acts like the defenseman and comes down, creates more screen, it goes in and then of course the third goal was a was a sixholeer that you you have to save. Yeah. I mean, that’s a six-holeer. That’s that’s not great. No, I mean that’s that’s that’s the book on him. Uh we’ve been saying it for a while now. That’s the book on him. You know, low block side low. Yep. Yeah. Gets a little dicey down there. It does. Um DKJ Barry says Bruins might be the slowest team in the league. Boy, right now, yeah, I mean, they are they’re bottom five. They’re bottom five slowest team in the league. I I saw I saw a stat because it was actually it was actually uh talking about how uh it was a Leafs actually graphic saying how the Leafs had really gone down since 2022 uh in the speed in the last two or three years. But when they showed the graphic and the Leafs were, you know, bottom 10, the Bruins are bottom five in the league, slowest teams. And they’ve been slow for a bit. Yeah. Um but this heavy this heaviness thing, that’s that’s another thing I don’t necessarily love is that thing, too. Um maybe hit somebody anybody. I’m glad Lynholm makes nearly $8 million to do absolutely nothing. And you know, again, it’s five more years. Five more years. He’s just turned 31. Was it today? They said he’s turned 31 today. Happy birthday, Li. Yeah. You’re 31. What What is that going to look like two, three, four years from now? Not good. No. Not good. You’re going to have a million dollar fourthline center. That’s what it’s going to look like. What? It’s going to look like a candidate for a buyout is what it’s going to be. Absolutely. It’s going to be a real [ __ ] albatross. Uh, Odyssey’s Saturday, you got my attention. Tuesday, laying an egg. 35 minutes left to make Detroit a wildcard rival. Pay some taxes. Let the bodies hit the floor, says Odyssey’s. Uh, ref’s giving us little help. Uh, Edmonson in the box. Frustration boiling over from the Saturday’s modeling. Make the best of it. Uh the officiating again like I I don’t I don’t know what happened with the Catholic thing. That was a sh that was a [ __ ] ass call. That was a [ __ ] ass call and Castlick probably told him words and he got and he got Yeah. The door of four minute with misconduct I thought was a [ __ ] piece of [ __ ] call too. Sorry John because cider is choking him to death with a stick. Yes. And then he turns around to not allow that to happen. Yeah. And gets four minutes and then gets 10 minutes probably for telling the referee he has his head up his ass. And there you go. 14 minutes. And insider gets two. I I No thanks. No thank you. Yeah, that was not I mean I think I think they probably gave him two on the original, you know, whatever shoving whoever’s head into the ground, which you know that’s Zidorov. Like that’s what he was. Okay, fine. Yeah, I don’t have a problem with that. Yeah. So, um but yeah, you know, four minutes to to two minutes like should be matched up. It should have just been matched up. It should have been each get two. Um and you know, not give him a 10. But whatever. I I I feel like they wanted desperately to give him the misconduct so they wouldn’t have to deal with this [ __ ] the rest of the game cuz he was pissed. Yes. And aggravated. I think that’s why they did it. He you could see him earlier, you know, in a couple of scrums like afterwards, you know, the referees yelling at Sadorov about something. Oh, yeah. And not any of the Red Wings players. They talked to him all the way down to the goalender. Yeah. So, I I’m 100% in an agreement. I think they wanted to get him off the ice so they didn’t have to deal with him, you know, starting to fight and having to get in there or whatever. Mix the door was going to make a mockery out of that thing. Yeah, he was. What do you got, Connor? Well, Smitty, you were [ __ ] baiting me, but this one is way too big for me to put on screen. So, I’m just going to give you this little sweet scenario. Wow. Elias Lynholm being bought out next off season. Yeah. For the next couple of seasons, the Bruins would save between four and three million. It would be four for two years, then 3 million, 2 and a half, 2 and a2, and then they would have one, two, three, four, five seasons of empty cap space in the buyout at one.5 million against the cap. Against the cap. Five years would be one and a half each year. Yeah. So it would go tomorrow. You would save four, save four, save three, two and a half, two and a half. And then that would be the end of his actual contract, right? Yeah. And you would be at five more years of $1.5 million against the cap to buy him out. So you save like four million. No, right. Eight. So then what is it? Yeah. 10 like 10. So it’s like you save like 14 or 15 million over the length of the contract. something like that in that ballpark and then it cost you like five after that like see you buddy. I mean that’s a real hit on the way out like Fraser Mitten’s here. He can [ __ ] win face offs and do that [ __ ] Like I’m I’m good with it. I’ll throw in not at that [ __ ] salary. I don’t I don’t like him at that [ __ ] salary at all. I think it sucks. I think it’s an awful I’ll throw in Mr. Post4 $4.99 too. We’ll throw that in there, too, because because I I’ll tell you what, I would do that on Mr. G that money to us. He’s giving that money to us. He’s not giving Eliza’s aren’t even worth $4.99 right now. No, he’s not. He’s not. He’s giving that money to us. Not Elias. [ __ ] hell. I I’ll tell you what, they should April 16th, they should they should be all over that [ __ ] thing. Yeah. Um maybe him like can they make like a can they do some kind of uh you know uh tax break on that thing? Well, if the cap’s going up then I I I love the hell out of a buyout scenario. Yeah. Give me some like some hockey sticks and pucks and stick tape and write that off. Eliz contract some sticks and pucks. The only problem is is that Hav Donnie that mistake he’s a Hava man. stream skipping like crazy. I’m watching this [ __ ] in ultra low definition right now. Maybe like four to five pixels. Matthew Curtis. Yes, it’s local cable access. Uh I was trying I I put on the the I think it was Brown UNH women’s hockey game and it really looked like someone’s [ __ ] phone and and in audio and in video. Like it was awful. Like seriously. Here’s here’s a here’s a a tip they don’t want you to know. It is someone’s phone. It is someone’s phone. It is. And the the announcers aren’t even there. They’re in their living room. Yeah. Oh, it’s just somebody with his phone. It’s one guy with his phone who’s talking into the to the side. Hold it like a pizza. Yeah. Hold it like a pizza. He’s talking into it as he’s as he’s videaping the game. Uh lots of high quality chances for the Red Wings Bruins fluffy as [ __ ] It looks like they’re playing a matinea game after an all night bender. Yeah. I mean, it wasn’t great. Yeah. My heard that I don’t know if you guys know this. My sources heard that Jeremy Swayman was at the Hard Rock uh casino in Detroit this afternoon playing video poker and and pounding White Claws. Um it’s nobody had a bad game. The White Claws, I believe. Insider insider adjacent. Yeah, the White Claws, I believe. Yeah. Uh, if I’m swims, I’m looking at Steves, then as looking back at Steves again and thinking, can he do what he does cheaper and better? Yep. Yep. See, this is the problem when you load up with these veteran guys when you didn’t give the other guys a chance. Like, this is there’s not enough to me. There’s not enough separation between Mikey Asim and Alex Steves. Just give it a go. And if you have to go get a guy, you go get a guy. You go get a guy. Somebody uh somebody asked further down uh in the comments, but the I don’t know who it was uh but I’ll give you the gist. When Poshna comes back, who comes out? Does Steve stay in? Who comes out? Steve stay in. Steve stays in in my opinion. Yeah, I think I’m gonna be nutty. Yeah, that’s what I was going to say. I think it’s nutty. I think it’s nutty even though he scored tonight. Yeah, I think it’s nutty. But I don’t know. Maybe it’s a guy like AC Mont. That’s what made me think of it. Maybe. Yeah. Uh now Ste can’t go. He’s passed the 10 day 10 game threshold. So I think that’s the waiver thing is uh is gone now too. Um he’s look he’s been playing too well. Yeah. I mean Jesus if he’s going to score goals in the bottom six and provide some spark. Sure. Connor. Go ahead. Another reason why you would give him an extension is because he’s passed the waiverss and a team might not pick him up if he’s got some extra years, baby. Here comes Donnie Sweeney to give him to Mark Castler. All right. That So I You’re playing [ __ ] chess, not checkers, huh? Yeah, you are. To the extension. So So when you So when you wave, no one up. That’s [ __ ] brilliant. Yeah. Pay him too much so nobody else wants him. Yeah, that’s that’s a great philosophy. That’s a great idea. It is awesome. It sounds like right up Sween’s alley though, doesn’t it? It does. What do you What do you What do you think? Okay, let’s play the game. Extension for Steves. What does it look like? What’s he making now? [ __ ] league minimum. I don’t know. I think he’s around 900,000. I would say 10 years at 1.5. Two years at 1.5. Two years at 1.5. You’re only giving him two. That’s 50% increase of you. Yeah, that doesn’t sound very of you at all. I think I think he’s going three years. Uh 1.7 Three years uh three years. Uh what? Four and a half. That’s what I think. Three years. Four and a half. Uh yeah. Is that No. How old is he? Three years. 5.1. Holy [ __ ] Yeah. Hold. We might have to go live when that happens. We will go. Oh my god. 5.1. Uh, and then when they send him down, we’ll get him on the program. Uh, bees trade board so far. Esamont, yes. Uh, Hnadinov, no. Corposalo, you wait for first round returns. The Zakas middle stats after the Olympics. Lori and Lembo, not a fit. You want to generate value in return. I still don’t think they’re going to trade Zaka, but maybe they will. um with freeing up some forward spots. You can also see what you have in Lysel or showcase him. What I do not get is the bearing of talent in the minor horrendous management and development. Yeah, I mean we’ve we’ve talked about it, but people out there are trying to tell me that he’s not he’s not earning it and all this other stuff. And I want to say, do you watch the [ __ ] parent club like some some of those guys don’t earn it on a given night? You know, some of those guys don’t earn it. So you you’re gonna just keep burying Lysel because he, you know, doesn’t want to play defense. Well, there’s some guys on the team here that sometimes don’t want to play defense. Yeah. You’re acting like no one makes mistakes, right? Here’s my thing, Odyssey, with that is I really don’t think the freeing up spots means anything to them. Like that doesn’t necessarily mean that that’s going to your prospects that you want to see up here and them to give a chance to. It doesn’t. It means Brown gets a chance. It means Jeffrey Vl probably gets go sign a guy or make a minor trade or go sign a guy or it, you know, it’s it’s going to be some kind of retread. It’s not going to be the potres or the lysel or the guys you actually want to see get a chance that are still young enough to be a prospect in the system. It’s guys that are [ __ ] 28, 29, 30, [ __ ] 31, your Trent Whitfields, your Billy of the world. Like, it’s those guys. Those are the ones that they give chances to because they want you to be reliable defensively and 22 year olds aren’t reliable defensively. You know, 29y old guys who have played 400 AHL games are reliable defensively. So that’s suck. That’s who gets the spots. Yeah. Ridiculous. It’s just it’s it’s mind-blowing. It really You know who’s you know who’s making a comeback? I heard Jared Tunorti. I I saw that. He’s going to be a Boston Bruin. You bet your life. Probably is. My god. Can’t wait. What do you think his contract looks like? 5.1. Give We’re gonna give him a tin man. Uh, two years. Uh, 2.5 oneway a one-way contract. Way Sweeney doesn’t know how to sign a defenseman less than $3 million a year. Let’s go. Oh, there you go. It’s going to be three times three. I That’s what it is. That’s the go-to, isn’t it? It is three Connor Clifton. [ __ ] Yeah. Three times three is like the baseline. Conor Clifton. I bet you he wants peak at three times three going forward. Bet you I will [ __ ] in my hat and put it on straight and wear it around. Yeah, that’s [ __ ] terrible. I am so [ __ ] gipping that. Oh my god. I’ll [ __ ] my hat. Uh and wear it around. Oh. Uh Odyssey says Sterm such a baller. Oh, so you want a goalie interference challenge now? Fifth goal down. Get the [ __ ] out of here. Put Scorpion in. Right move. Uh, yeah. Yeah. No, I’m not I’m not challenging. I’m getting my goender up. I don’t even think he that was a challengeable play. Like it didn’t look like It didn’t look like anything. Near him. It didn’t look like anything. It might have been a little bit of a stick tap somewhere, but it didn’t look like anything. Stick tap tap bag tap. Uh Joe Bandara Corp was solid the rest of the game. me think they should have started him. No, I thought that they should have rode the hot hand. Swayman was doing great. Tonight was I could see it coming. Yeah, it was great on the road. Yeah, it was terrible in Detroit. Here it comes. Yeah, it was it was a you know a confluence of events like it, you know, they’re bad in Detroit. They’re bad in the road. You know, Swayman, you know, was hot for a while. Like, you know, they have a bunch of injuries. Like, you could see it coming. They weren’t One goes in. Yeah. First talk about that. Yeah. You weren’t you weren’t going to win this game. Yeah. No, you weren’t. You weren’t. Uh Andrew Purkin scheduled loss in Detroit. Yep. Sway sucked. Yep. Let’s sit. Essimont and Corali. Surely a kid in Providence can do more than suck ass. Cari does absolutely zero five on five, nothing. And he’s there for penalty killing. That’s it. He’s Kevin Shatenkirk right now. He’s there to put on the penalty kill just like Sha and Kirk was on the power play. That’s what he does and that’s it. Um they had two days off. Shouldn’t be tired says DK. Oh, they shouldn’t be. They had guys coming back like no they shouldn’t have been tired. Steve’s the new Marshand says Craig Campbell. Oh Christ. Hey Craig, one can only hope buddy. We can only hope so. Yeah hope so. Can you imagine if Steves and Mitten are really good players and you got them both from Toronto like another Tukar Rasque? Like that would be great. Can you imagine that? They trade Brandon Carlo, right? They’re looking to trade him. They trade Carlo and Minton ends up being, you know, a really good player for you and you you end up getting him and their first round pick Brandon Carlo who they, you know, send out of town for nothing. Bag of pucks. What do you got, Connor? So, I ended up down a Twitter rabbit hole about Frasier Mitten earlier today or yesterday sometime uh involving the Kefir Sherwood conversation. Yeah. And how basically some Canucks person was saying that they should demand Frasier Mitten in return. Yeah. And there were a laughable amount of Toronto Maple Leafs fans coming in there saying like, “Oh my god, you got Frasier Mitten and all now you think he’s the second coming of Christ. Like come down. He’s not even that good. Yeah. Now there’s a huge debate on Frasier Mitten online. Yeah. They were talking about him like they were saying Bruins fans are talking about him like he’s a call to candidate and all this other stuff. And um they don’t listen to our show then. I I told you what I felt about Mitten last last postame like he’s a third he’s right now in my opinion he’s a third line checking center. That’s a ceiling. That’s what he’s going to be and that’s it. Um, maybe he surprises me, but I think that’s what he is. And if that’s what he is, then that’s great. Then you got that for Carlo and a first round pick. Fine. He’s 21. He’s on the team for eight years. Terrific. Like it’s I’m not saying it’s bad. I’m just saying that that’s what I think it is, you know. Um, and we’ll see. We’ll see what what happens. If he’s a second line center and productive, then then that’s a bonus. That’s gravy. Yeah, that’s all all I was saying was I think he deserves a chance to play with better players. That’s it. I I agree with you right now. I think I think that’s what he is. He’s a third line center. He’s pretty good at it. Yeah. You know, he doesn’t produce a ton. So, you know, he’s 63 two like 200 pounds. Like, he’s a big kid. He’s, you know, I don’t think I And I talked about his shot release. I don’t I think he has a slow release. I don’t think he gets a shot off very quick, but No, he doesn’t. He doesn’t. Geeky worked on that and now he scores goals all over the You should work with geeks in the offse while [ __ ] I don’t know. Go to go out to Western Canada and [ __ ] bail some hay and [ __ ] I don’t know. Work on a Jeep. I don’t know. Stick your hand in rice like Roger Clemens used to like get those forarms going. Get those forarms. Yeah. Big Roger Clemens also [ __ ] did steroids. Well, yeah, but it’s it was the rice Connor. Come on. Yeah. Jesus. He misremembered. Yeah. Uh Hugh Frasier Swayman was [ __ ] That loss is on the coach for not pulling him earlier. I mean, you can make that argument, you know, between periods. Yeah, you could, I guess. Um, not Sways Night, says Kevin Brian. Welcome, Kevin. But what the heck were the 10-minute misconducts for? I think what both were their mouth. Yes. Uh, and and there was some rabbit ears going on from the from the referee. 100%. Uh, Sedors was boiling, like we said. Yeah. Because they were chirping at each other for a while. Castelik was just, “Okay, I’m going to give another one because I don’t want to hear this [ __ ] anymore.” Probably. Yeah. I mean, or he said, “You’re a [ __ ] loser.” Like, he just said something personal. I think he did. I think, you know, cuz they showed the replay of the call and it was a terrible call. Terrible. He’s like, he’s like, “You’re going to [ __ ] call that or something when we’re getting back at the game?” Like, you know, [ __ ] you and the horse we rode in on and probably said 10 minutes. It was quick. That was quick. Yeah. Um, Shaz Diet, if this team is going to survive Mackaway and pasta out, they need a hell of a lot more from Zach. Both Lyn Holmes, they do. Jesus, they do. Yeah, they do. They do. Especially Elias Lynholm. Like they need him to get back to the last month of this. Talk about a guy with the pressures off. He’s played his best hockey as a Bruin when they were out of it. When they were [ __ ] in a hole like they were there was all over and he played his best hockey. That concerns I mean, you know, he had a really good playoff with Vancouver, I guess, you know, the last year. Yeah, he did. He did. that led to wonder if you know he’s just not a he’s a you know pressure off or complete pressure like he can’t play kind of a consistent in the middle the middle game. Yeah. I feel like not that Lindholm. I feel like Campus needs to be better like he’s he can’t be average and he’s been below average. He has been. They need him to be really good. They need him to be the second best defenseman on the team and he hasn’t been that. Um, I mean, I would have made a case he was the best defensive for a short stint there. He was, but I mean, they need him to be the second best, like consistently the second best guy. Or the best guy. I mean, if he wants to play that well, great. Um, but you can’t have other guys, you know, on this decor playing better than him. Like, they’re just, you know, not built for that. you know, they need him to be, you know, a minutes eater and, you know, really good defensively and and then chip in a little offensively and he hasn’t been that for them lately. 100%. Odyssey’s Everson’s onetime is bottom 736 of the league, but he likes to use it. Steves though, are we seeing a new geeky story of Oh, Jesus Christ. Like, oh, here we go now. Yeah, here we go. I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what. fans love themselves some some mediocre players. They just they just they look it. He’s hot right now. He’s hot. He’s hot. He’s hot. Like I hope he is. Look, I hope he is Marshand. I hope so. Maybe he just needed a needed a real like maybe he needed a real [ __ ] opportunity and now he has some confidence. And now boom, he can shoot the I mean he can and he and he’s got a nose for it and he’s physical enough to play in the bottom six. So yes, keep him around. I’ll tell you what, I I would like to see him with Mitten and Castle on the third line. Yes. And Jano can bump down to the fourth line. Yes. In a in a perfect storm perfect scenario. Yes, I would agree with that. I think that line of of Steve’s Mitten Castle could could be something. I like the sound of that. Uh, Angela Lagawala Wonder Wall. Uh, Andrew Peak on the ice for all five against. Yeah, I’m telling you, Peaker. Yeah, he he looked rough. That’s a little foreshadowing. He looked rough. That’s a little There was one time when they didn’t score. Well, I thought it was his worship. Like, he was running around everywhere like, “What is happening, Andrew? Oh my god. Yeah, I think I remember that because you texted PE and I was like struggling. Oh my god. It’s like Joe Nameoth. Chef, you don’t want to kiss him. Yeah. Uh Rainforest, would you like to see uh would like to see Stern back at the rough sum? We always get hosed by the He’s very stoic back there. He’s very German back there. Yeah. you know, um, he doesn’t I’ve never seen him really say much of anything. Um, maybe that comes with time. Maybe he understands his sort of I’m a first year NHL coach. Like, yeah, I got to earn it. Like, I want to I I don’t want to be a complete a-hole that they can’t stand right away. And and for and I would understand that. Um, yeah. I mean, maybe maybe he feel feels like he doesn’t know the refs well enough. I I feel with some um coaches with more tenure, you know, they might be, you know, more comfortable yelling at a referee that they’ve had runins with before or know. Oh, yeah. Like Brendan Ward just constantly [ __ ] Same with, you know, Maurice and and Barub and Buby and Cooper like they, you know, they get after guys. What you don’t want though is 2019 again and where that sways it looks like it sways a series or it sways a game because the other guy got it in their ear, right? You know, that’s the problem. I feel like on that thing, you know, the Bruins coach should have come back in the media. Yes. And and that game said something or at least attack what Ruby said, right? I mean, yeah. Um, Pete Grim anorexically thin to describe squad depth is diabolical. Yeah, anorexic. Well, I mean it is. It is. It is. No lies told. No. Peter Clifford, can we call Middlestat Zaka Arvid the Amy Winehouse line? Does they have to go back to rehab? Sure. The Winer line. The Winehouse line. The Winehouse line. I love it. I love it. Um when passes back, who slots out? I think we should keep Steen and we agree and I think it’s going to be who’s in need of I do. It’s going to be I really do because the other guys make money, you know, unless um you know, Pasa’s they, you know, out another week or so probably. Um, you know, if Nutty goes on a little Steves type streak here and scores or produces in the next handful of games, you know, he probably stays in too. So, you know, then you’re looking at probably a guy like Asim on maybe. Maybe I would like to see Steve Carelli, but yeah, I mean, I would like to see, but that won’t happen because they’re in love with him. Yeah. Odyssey’s seller scenario insert UFA or Prospect Geeky Pasta Lynholm Jano Mitten Steves Corali Castelic Sidor of Makavoy Lynholm Harris Peak Oh Harris. Yeah. Swayman DPro Zagite. Okay. Uh Rob, I hate how it’s called a great trade when Lynholm and Bakus trades are the same trade. We gave up more than Vegas did to get Eel or anyone says Zack Haste. Well, the Bakus one was uh was that Andre Kasha and that whole thing. Oh, no. They got rid of Did they get rid of Bakus for Kasha in the first or they gave a first with Bakus or something? There’s a trade there where they gave away a first round pick. Yeah. And I think it might have been Kasha coming back. Yeah, I think it might have been Bakus in the first. Um Peter Clifford forgotten Sweeney, please lay off Harvard. He went there on a hockey scholarship. It’s Salt Lake is a main business school grad. No, you are killing it tonight. Yeah, that’s a that’s a good one. That’s a good That is a That is a scholarship. Um Backas with a salary. Backas Axelson a first. Yeah. Um Ax Alex Axelson or whatever the hell’s his name. Alex whatever the [ __ ] Axelson. Uh and a first to eat and they got Kasha in return. That’s right. That’s right. Um, when you play Matez Blumel, Alex Steves, Nutty Middlestat, and Arverson in your top six, none of who are top six guys. Castle being on the third line, not exactly a stretch. True. Um, I still think I want Castle on a on a really good fourth line. Yeah. Like Jano, Castle, and somebody. Um like like Jano Mitten Castle on the fourth line. Said that before. If that’s your fourth line, you’re really really good team. That’s a really good team. Everybody’s playing a little higher than they should. Yep. It’s been that way all year. Been that way last year, too. And that’s what happens when you aren’t very good. Like you That’s right. People play out of position. Uh Carali needs a five-year deal straight to the KHL, says Robin Forte. Uh, speaking of the KHL, uh, Georgie Murculov should be there pretty soon. He probably hates life right now. He does. I mean, they bring him up, play him on his offside, which he never plays. Plays him 10 and a half minutes. Y and then that’s it. Like, that was a warm body, like you said. That was using Georgie Murcul essentially. Go ahead, kid. Don’t [ __ ] it up when you’re offside. Yeah. I mean, it was it was it really was it was a warm body. It was like a, you know, you had a pretty good year so far. Like, congrats. We’ll give you a call up, but don’t expect to play and you’re going to play your off-wing. Yeah. So, you know, good luck with that. Yeah. I mean, Oh, yeah. And then made a good Zack Hase makes a good point. Oliver Walstrom was another guy who came in blocking Tyler Johnson. Johnson blocking blocking younger guys who could do probably Oliver Walstrom for 41 games 4-1 and he had less production right now then when they could have played the Durant all those guys like they could have played those guys instead they don’t like their own dra it’s weird they don’t like their own draft picks it’s because they’re not Patrice Berron like they don’t like and and my my thing is can you can you draft like an identity? Like can you draft the guy who’s clo closer to that? Like don’t just go get a guy who has this completely different skill set and said okay we’re going to make you this guy. That just will never work. No. Like that is what I don’t get. Like go out and get a guy that you think okay this guy like Frasier Mitten is probably the closest thing they have to something like that. Right. Right. So, and Berseron wasn’t this great offensive player when he came in the league. He was 18, couldn’t speak English, and he was a defensive center and reliable and all that stuff. Wise beyond his years, but he wasn’t the offensive player he was the last six or eight years of his career. He was not 10 years of his career. He was not. So, maybe someone like Mitten gets some. But, Berseron worked on his game. He worked on his bumper. He worked on his shot. like his shot was very accurate by the end. Yeah. Um it also helped to have Marshall with him quite a bit too. Um all right. So three up and three down. Let’s see. Three up. I have a What’s that? Oh, I said good luck with that [ __ ] Yeah, I’m gonna go three Corp. Find a three up. Wow. Corp comes in and makes some stellar saves. He doesn’t allow another goal. Um, you know, he was coming off I’ll drink to that. He hasn’t played for a week or so and coming off, you know, off the bench, you know, quick stretch and he’s making saves all over the ice. So, three, two apricots. Uh, you know, a big fat apricot, juicy one tonight. He gets the one-time, the onet, which Victor Robertson should take a queue from. Yeah. Um, and then number one, Alex Steves. Two goals. Uh, four in his last four, five overall in 12 games. Pretty good. Yeah. I mean, good. Feel good. Welld deserved. I have three downs that are also welld deserved. Okay. Yeah. Uh, number three, Jeremy Swayman. Uh, off night, five goals on 18 shots for a 783. So, when he’s bad, folks, he’s bad. He’s not He’s not mediocre. He’s bad. He’s either over 900 or he’s bad tonight. He was Yeah. Um, number two, Andrew Peak on ice for all five goals against. And listen to this stat. This is [ __ ] unbelievable. Okay. Andrew Peak was a minus4 tonight. And I know plus minus isn’t the be all end all thing. No one else on the team, no one else was worse than a minus one. He was a sports. Go [ __ ] yourself. He was minus4. No one else was worse than a minus one. Wow. No one else. Arbertson Middle stat were both minus one. Everyone else was either zero or Peak was like that’s like Tiger Woods on Sunday in like 2005. Like that’sion. Holy [ __ ] Wow. Yeah. Uh and then number one, I’m going off the board here. Um, the IIHF with the the Olympics. Oh my god. The shrinkage. Yeah. The hockey arena is not built yet. Not built. Not finished. The Olympics start in like two months and the thing’s not done. The ring’s going to be four feet short. And they Yeah. And they said if it does get finished in time, it’s going to be smaller than an NHL sheet. So you’re gonna be playing essentially in like a half sheet three three on three at like the rink in [ __ ] North Attboro. Yeah. You’re going to be And fits right into Billy Garin’s [ __ ] plan to get all the heavy guys who can’t [ __ ] skate. Yeah. Playing small rink. Yeah. It’s like the old Boston Gardens. That’s guys in horrendous. Just hit hit. Yeah. You think any Italians will even like hockey out there? Like they have a crowd of anything? I would be stepping espresso and having [ __ ] Oh my god. I would I wouldn’t be wearing a chocolate piscati with some espresso. Yeah. Then espresso martinis all night. Yeah. Till they throw up. Probably can 12. Yeah. Yeah. Robert Forte’s three up. Equipment manager. The coffee of the team hotel and whatever the inflight movie is on the flight home. You know what? What was your Do you remember your last inflight movie you watched in a plane? Oh, this is a good one. Um, it was uh I think it might have been A Quiet Place too, honestly. Really? Yeah, I think it was. Mine was Central Intelligence with [ __ ] Kevin from Rock. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I watched that on the plane. I think it was A Quiet Place, too. I should have kept that for the uh for the 10 randoms for the two-minute drill we’re doing tomorrow. Yeah. Um Yeah. But yeah, so that was uh that was not a good night uh for those gentlemen. Not a good night. Look ahead. And hey, just when you needed him most, old friend Jim Montgomery stops by Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues. Uh how do you see that shaking on down? Uh, I think the Bruins win 71. Old old hands in his pockets just mailing it home. The hands in his pockets. Tell you, did you did you hear the uh the little tetatet there when Bennington Oh, Bennington. Yeah. Was pissed off barking at us. Yeah. Barked Monty addressed it and said he loves Bennington. Uh, always plays well in big games. Uh, he said that Jordan told him, “I love you.” And he said, “I love you back.” Yeah. Which is full of [ __ ] Mean. Yeah. That’s He probably called Montgomery a [ __ ] Yeah. Montgomery said, “Fuck you. Love you, too.” He did follow that statement up with another one and said that they did talk uh in the hallway in between periods and some apologies were had and they’re both good for whatever that’s worth. You know, you know, I’ll tell you what, Montgomery, there’s a trend here that’s not good for him. No. Where, you know, it happened in St. Louis or was it St. Louis first or Dallas? Is it Dallas? He was in Dallas. He was in Dallas and he went to St. Louis and that started going south early and then he goes, you know, he has Boston as a head coaching job that goes south and then he has St. Louis. They they look really good when he starts. It’s always like when he comes like it’s all gung, you know, everybody loves his personality. The team gets energized, but then after a while the co when the coaching matters. Yeah. That’s the thing. He’s an overrated technical coach is what it That’s that’s what it comes down to is yeah, everybody loves his personality and he’s a breath of fresh air and he can and he can talk to the guys and he can relate to the guys, but he can’t coach hockey. No, he can’t. That’s the problem. He can’t. What do you got, Connor? Uh Mattie just described it perfectly. Great when he comes and then the postnut clarity sets in and you have major regrets. Great when he comes. That’s the Matt Barry story. Uh, I have uh I have I don’t know. I don’t know. I think that it’s like Mr. Post said 109 Boston. I don’t I don’t I have no idea. My son My son actually played in a uh in in a youth hockey game uh where his goalie and the other goalie were both awful. Uh yeah, our team won 1411. Oh, that’s a be 1411. That’s a be. That’s like a Sunday morning down the playground street hockey game. It was It was a Sunday morning, but it was in it was in beautiful uh Brockton [ __ ] Swansea. Yeah, Brockton. Beautiful Brockton, Massachusetts. Right behind the high school. Cold rank in [ __ ] Yeah. Yeah. Um one of our kids scored from center ice. That Well, that tells you everything you need to know. goalie. It could happen Thursday night with the goalie in the net. Yeah, could happen Thursday. Bennington, you know, [ __ ] Monty coming back. I don’t know. Yeah. Well, I It’s either going to be 71 or or it’s going to be like one nothing St. Louis. Like it’s going to shut the door. Slam the door. I could see that happening. Honestly, they play twice in five days. I think they play the ninth as well. Yeah, in St. Louis. I think that’s probably more likely, but I hate St. Louis so much that I want the Bron. This might be a high score. This might be I don’t know if is Kyro going to play. Is he gonna get scratched again? I have no idea. Thomas I don’t know. Uh which leads us to would you rather? Okay. Uh St. Louis Blues next opponent. Would you rather have Robert Thomas, Jordan Kairo, Justin Faulk and uh Bennington or Posge Geeky Mackabo and Swayman? Bruins. I’m going to go Bruins. I’m going Bruins. I’m going the goalender. I’m going to the defenseman. Those two definitely. And I’m going past I go over anything they have. So yeah, I’m right there. Yeah, right there with you. Yeah, absolutely. It’s See the Bruins, it’s it’s kind of sneaky because they’re that front first four. Not bad. Not bad. Yeah. So they’re going to win a few of these, would you rathers? Probably. Yeah, they’re probably going to win quite a few of them because of, you know, Makavoy and the goal and I mean Geeky, too, leading the league in goals. Yeah. Yeah. Um but you get outside of that first four. Yeah. You go second floor, that’s when it starts to [ __ ] fall apart. Yeah. That’s when it starts to [ __ ] fall apart. That’s when the paper bag gets a little wet. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely it does. And not and not with excitement. Uh hey, the Bruins lose tonight, 5 to 4 in Detroit, Rock City. Uh we’ll do it again tomorrow night. Live episode 900 p. p.m. Eastern. Join us. Um, and uh, Thursday night, Bruins Blues at TD Garden. We’ll have the post game after that one.
