The Bulls were who were supposed to be back. They went into this stretch with what six or seven straight games against teams with a combined winning percentage of like 32% Pat. They beat the Wizards. They lost to everyone else. And they barely beat the Wizards at that. Fifth straight loss. How you feeling? Um, I guess we might as well start now. It’s time to fire everybody, bro. Time to fire everybody. AK uh I mean Mark Eversley, Billy Donovan, the the trainers, the the shooting coaches, the the water boy. If if a bowl of soup could help us out with Jay Ryanorf, that’d be phenomenal at this point. You know what I mean? Like it’s it’s time to get everybody out the building. Like it’s it’s there’s no explanation for this. There’s there’s no reason for this. There’s no example for you to point to where you’ve ever seen a team compete less. And in And bro, I don’t remember seeing a team compete less in the NBA. Like I I’ve watched a lot of bad basketball, bro. And this is a team that has given up. We are less than 30 games into the season. Mhm. They’ve given up. I don’t know if they’ve given up on Billy, if they’ve given up on themselves. I don’t know what they they have given up. There’s no effort there. There is no want to a loss to the Nets. And I get it. Like, you know, anybody can beat you any given night, but you’re not trying on defense at all. You You did nothing to try and slow down Michael Porter Jr. who looked like Michael Jordan out there tonight. Um could have been a bull. No, no, don’t don’t even get me started on that. M be like, but he had a back issue. That’s why y’all all [Music] I know exactly what you were. Anyway, um it it’s it’s it’s sad to say, bro. And and the biggest thing, listen, I’m I’m not a I don’t throw as much on Billy as I think you do because I think whoever the next coach coming in is going to do the same. uh or is going to ask the team to to do the same. But there needs to be some disciplinary order in action. Well, the effort that you saw tonight, I ain’t gonna lie to you. I suspend people. You don’t want to play it and it’ll be a suspension where you get paid for it. Go sit your butt at the end of that bench. I’ll roll out there with my starting lineup of Emanuel Miller, Dalon Terry, Javon Carter, Lachland Albrich, and Trent Flowers. I swear to God I would because at this point you have nothing but players on your team that don’t care at all that they play for the Chicago Bull. Don’t care at all have any pride in their game in the slightest. And I’d tell them straight to their face. You you got a frail built weak bottom team. They might as well be in a diddy dock. Like it that’s crazy with the guy hoodie on. But it’s just it’s it’s sad, bro. It’s it’s truly sad to see, bro. There was one point on the floor where you just looked out and you saw Julian Phillips, Patrick Williams, and Dayton Terry on the floor. And you had to realize that every one of those players Julian was a second round pick, but every one of those players is a AK draft pick. And every one of those players gives you absolutely nothing. I don’t I that lineup’s been out there before. It’s just the first time we paid attention to it. I literally was like, “This lineup is giving you literally nothing.” These are three draft picks. One of them was the fourth overall pick. The other one was the 18th overall pick who was selected ahead of two NBA players who right now one of them is dead in Walker Kesler who’s still giving you more from a hospital bed than Dalon Terry has given you on a basketball court. That’s hilarious. I don’t know Pat. Like like I mean at this point where we are in the season like all jokes aside like it sucks that we’re here especially this early on. like we weren’t even that far removed really from the fivegame winning streak. But I think the thing that that like and I know me and you agree on this one, it’s just the lack of effort. Like if you were fighting and just getting out out talented, then that that’s one thing. It’s a lack of effort. This team looks dead. This team looks like and has the feel of a team that’s been together for like eight years and they’re just like over each other and it really hasn’t been that long. Like it’s it it sucks. And I know people some people are going to say, “Well, you know, we’re still missing Kobe. We’re still missing all these guys. I get that. But that doesn’t change the level of effort that’s just missing and lacking from this team night in and night out. Like you cannot win basketball games with a lack of effort. The this Bulls team, even with all the players that were missing, is more talented than the Brooklyn Nets or should be at least. Bam. It it ain’t should be. You have the 11th overall pick in Modus Bales out there. He’s giving you nothing on the defensive end and barely giving you anything offensively. He They tweeted out today modest with a big three. Bang. Cuts it down to nine. Yeah. You lost 113 to 103. Big three. You had Patrick Williams out there. You had I dum who I I think I was the one player out of this. I giddy. I’m keeping them. V don’t care. Vu saw what he had to see after that game and said, “Oh, this what we bet. We done. We’re done here. Let’s pack it up. Like it you’re too far into drafts at this point to say you’re hoping to see somebody give give you anything. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, and it it here’s the thing. This team just continues to find new lows, right? like it just we are too early in the season technically to be where we are right now but it it this is where we are and this is this is the reality of where we are and we have to deal with that reality so whether we should be here shouldn’t be here the circumstance every team in the league is dealing with circumstances and so now it gets on the point of okay AK you talked about evaluating for long-term fit right and I don’t feel like you need to wait 82 games necessarily for that. What’s going to happen with that evaluation? And unfortunately, I I I I don’t feel confident that anything’s going to happen. I don’t feel confident anything’s going to happen. No, you you’re [Laughter] probably keeping everybody. Maybe you trade Kevin Herder. Maybe you, but more than likely, you’re keeping everybody. And that’s that’s that’s just it’s a massively unacceptable issue. It honestly is. Um and it it is the biggest reason that our tourist carnos should be shipped to the farthest reaches of the sun. Um he shouldn’t be allowed within 500 yards of Chicago. Uh 500 miles, I should say, of Chicago. Uh he he shouldn’t be allowed within Indiana. Uh, you know what I mean? Like it it’s the team that you built is bad and any chance that you had to possibly try and go get a player that was better, you weren’t aggressive enough to go do. You were one pick away from an actual basketball player. Instead, you took Noah Singay, who’s dead, by the way. We got to talk about that, too. He’s already out for the season. Who’s a project for five years from now? I got five of them on the team already. You took a project last year and it’s a project that looks like he has some talent. I don’t know where a lot of that effort went this year, but he has a project that looks like he has some talent. Have we had a draft? We haven’t had a single draft and we didn’t take a project under AK. No, everybody’s been a project under AK. Um, we haven’t had a single draft. where we took a first round pick that wasn’t a project. Yep. We got so many projects. We in the projects. We are in the projects which is happening project. I mean so this team feels like Detroit, bro. The the the team feel like we hooping down in the projects like I mean Detroit not Detroit the team. Detroit the series. Oh, okay. Yeah, that’s that’s unbelievable. That’s unbelievable. Like I I don’t know. I don’t know what to do the ad read, bro. I don’t This is what they feel we deserve, bro. This is what they feel we deserve. But all right, we’re we’re going to continue. We’re talk about Pat’s question here. The Bulls the worst team in the NBA. All right, Pat, this is a question that you asked over text, which was hilarious. It’s on the topic list. Are the Bulls the worst team in the NBA? Yeah. You think the worst team in the NBA? Which team shows less effort? I watch the Charlotte Hornets. They suck. I mean, they suck. I’m talking about like Zion Williamson and porn star. I mean, they suck. I would respond to that and say this though, P. Yeah, there are teams that give more effort than the Bulls, but they’re still worse than the Bulls even despite their effort. Sure. But a team that has talent and literally doesn’t put forth effort to me is worse than a team that doesn’t have the talent to make up for their their deficiencies. I would rather see a team that goes out there and works their butts off and goes, “We literally can’t.” I I I’ll give you a case in point. The Washington Wizards are a fun team to watch. They’re very fun to watch despite a very fun They suck. Yeah, they literally just don’t have enough talent developed for them to go play basketball. But at no, there’s not been a Wizards game that I’ve seen this season, and I I am not proud to say that I have seen more than my fair share of them. Uh I probably seen almost every Wizards game this season because of that. And they played a lot of good teams early in the year. Um, there hasn’t really been a Wizards game this season, maybe yesterday that I watched and I was just like, they don’t care. They’re not trying. Let me ask you this, Pat, and just for the nature of the conversation. So, you are very much in the case that you you feel like Billy should not be blamed for this, but let me ask you this. If the Bulls are a talented team that doesn’t give effort, like what what then is the barometer that you judge coaching by? Because let’s look at it. You’re not getting the most out of the talent on this team. Whether that’s your fault or them just tuning you out. You’re not you have not had you’ve had one winning season record in this since you’ve been coaching this team. And if you’re saying that we can’t judge the coach by oh well, he’s telling the players the right thing, they’re just not listening. At what point then like, okay, so then should should should no coach be fired? Because I highly doubt there are many coaches that are telling players the wrong thing. But like, no, it’s coaches telling players the wrong thing. No, that that does happen. Hey, bro. But that that’s Detroit’s fault cuz Monty literally said, “I don’t want to coach this team.” Uh, we got a couple of more zeros on there. Hey, bro. Hey, bro. Hey, we watched Jim Bo here, bro. We watched Jim Bo here. Go, don’t play over the screen. What? What year is it? Um, no. No. Here’s my thing. My conversation isn’t Don’t fire Bill. Mhm. Fire him. My conversation is, do you have the people in the building that will listen to a new coach who comes in and says a lot of the similar scheme? If you want to say that firing the coach is going to fire these players up to be guys that they haven’t been under Billy Donovan, maybe that’s the case. I would love to see it. I don’t believe in anyone on this team outside of Josh Giddy who looked like he gave a dang tonight and I Dumo who looks like he gives a dang every night but he can’t keep his mouth closed. Shout out to Josh Giddy actually for so I mean V did show some frustration at the end of the first half there too but Giddy when the Nets got up by like six. Giddy was like no bro what are we doing here bro like like there’s three people on I’ve been saying it for weeks at this point and and to me it’s it’s if you want to fire Billy that’s fine fire Billy. My thing is don’t think that a new voice or a new coach makes them better. They have to want to be better. you have to want to go. And when I see you doing dumb, it’s to the point the Bulls don’t play fundamental basketball on defense no more. Like it’s literally bad fundamentals on the defensive end, which is literally just if this man is it’s geometry. I swear to God, it’s not that difficult. If he back door cuts and Vu has to pick that man up, there’s an open space in the middle. You need to slide into that open space to disrupt that man. When your man is now open, he should slide over into that space. It’s It’s team defense. Like I watched Javon Carter throw a body in there. I don’t think he’s a hooper out here, but it’s just like things like that. To me, I’m fine firing the coach. I’m fine firing everybody in this front office and everything to the sun. or to the Phoenix Suns, one or the other. But is that going to change who these players are at their heart? I don’t think it will. I don’t think Taylor Jenkins or Mike Malone. I mean, we’ve seen coaches come to teams and then get more out of players than the pre prior coaches. I like I get the question that you’re asking. It’s a legitimate question. That’s what you have to ask yourself in the next one is like whoever is well if they were which we know they’re not moving on for Billy but if they were to you have to ask yourself is this is this the one that’s going to get something different out of I mean we’ve seen a little bit in with the Bears with Ben Johnson like there are times where changing the coach can get different and get the players to buy in more. Now with this franchise we know that that’s not likely. So then it comes about where is the improvement coming because you’re not going to overhaul the whole entire roster. Now we do have a lot of expiring contracts. There’s a natural place this offseason where you can change a nice chunk of your roster organically without having to rush and make a bunch of trades or lopsided trades or things like that. That that’s a possibility and that’s fine. But at some point, and and I made this analogy before when we were talking in the Discord, is that if you are a manager at any job and you come in, you take over and they say, “All right, bet. It’s the staff. They change the staff.” They’re not going to keep changing the staff. Eventually, they’re going to look at you as the manager of of that department and say, “Well, we’re not we can’t keep overhauling the staff. It has to be you. We’re going to overhaul the manager.” Eventually, that happens. Oh, I I think it again, I’m fine with that. Like I I think a a great scenario that I think this is very similar to cuz I don’t think that Billy’s, you know, the worst coach ever. I do think that it hasn’t worked here. But I look at a situation like uh um let’s say last 10 years of the Steelers with Mike Tomlin. Is it Mike Tomlin’s fault that they won’t go after a quarterback that actually has talent or is it the owner’s fault saying we not giving up X, Y, and Z for you to go get this dude? Is it the president’s fault for saying right? Like there’s a lot of people that are in place and so like I do look at Billy kind of in that sense even though he hasn’t won a championship like Mike Tom has a Super Bowl is is is apples to oranges from that uh uh the total standpoint but like I think there’s a lot of stuff that’s happening here that Billy’s just like what happened with this decision that we thought this was a good idea and AK’s like no watch it it will work I I promise it’s very good good project. Yeah, but the different like even in your M Mike Mike Mike Tomlin comparison. Yeah, they they haven’t went out and got him a quarterback. But guess what, Pat? He still has winning seasons more than not even without a Yeah, but that is I I think football and basketball are difficult to compare. The the thing there is like it’s always the same. Nothing changes. That was more of the point that I made. Like nothing is changing around Mike Tomlin and you keep looking at this one thing very similar to the Bulls. What we say? We need a rim protector. AK goes through every single year and says, “Yeah, we need better protection around the rim.” And then goes and drafts a dude that weighs 208 lbs cuz he saw him block a shot in France a couple of times. Well, no, he’s he’s a lot more skilled than just that. But I get what you’re saying. But but the shot blockers were there. Heck, if you had any balls, trade up two spots and go get a player that’s actually making an impact in the NBA right now. You had to trade up two because the the Memphis wasn’t trading. Memphis wasn’t giving up Cedric Coward. It was like, please give us Cedric Coward. Like, at some point, you got to take a chance. At some point, you got to take a risk. And the risk you took was for Demar De Roz and Alonzo Ball. And we’ve never seen them take a risk again. You want to fire Billy? Fire Billy, let him go. I don’t care. But you have no players on this team right now that look like they have a future that is going to impact the team winning. That’s a problem. So I I don’t know. Like to me when you’ve got and I do think this Bulls team has talent. I I told y’all I’m still high on what his talent is. Modest Bzelis is talented. Um Josh Giddy’s talent. Josh Giddy is talented. Iod Dumo is talented. Kobe White is talented. Who? Just the dudes that played today. Uh uh uh uh well, I mean, Patrick Williams is talented, but he don’t use none of it. So, is he I was going to say skill set wise, he still has a great skill set. He doesn’t apply himself. Smokey. It’s It’s You went into this game to me with more talent than Brooklyn had. And every bit of that talent was like, “We’ll see.” So that that’s that’s what it always comes down to me. Uh how do you utilize that talent? Hey, but we got to uh see if there are any trades worth making. We know that AK won’t make a single one because he is uh hiding in his turtle shell. We talked about Trey Murphy earlier today. Giannis recently popped up, but he may be down with an Achilles injury. How you feeling, Pat? Hey, bro. At this point, Trey is like, “No, we’ll take whatever you can throw at us.” At this point, find a way to make the money work. And New Orleans said, “We’re willing to take the best offer sent to us immediately.” What is he doing down there, bro? And then it was immediately said, “Yeah, there’s no V. There’s no marker for Zion, bro.” You know what I mean? Like, what is he doing down there that everybody’s sitting here like, “Nobody want that freaky frog on our team, bro?” You got to watch that man. He get after a beignet and cheeks. Like I I don’t know, bro. Like like I Well, I’m sorry to cheeks at that. Yeah, I mean Zion Williamson and porn star at this point. We got to get her on the show. She more entertaining. Um but it’s you got to do something. You’ve got to do something. And I don’t think that you’re in real conversations for Giannis if that were to happen. By by the way, he went down. I There’s a part of me that looks at that video and I’m like, I can see him faking this. And then there’s another part where I’m like, nah, that’s that look of like, oh, it’s over. Yeah. Yeah. No, that that the look on his face is sold. The look was just like a, yeah, I’m hurt. Yeah, I’m hurt. Even that’s how the Achilles be. Exactly. And his brother, like when they went over, his brother looking at him was like, “Yeah, my brother’s hurt. He’s done.” No. Thanaz was looking at him like, “Well, there goes the job. Are they going to cut me now?” Uh, no, man. I I I hope the best for Zion or for Giannis. You got to find somebody. I think every trade is worthwhile at this point because you got players on your team that don’t matter. You need to find some Here’s my thing. You need to find somebody that h is willing to give the effort and has the size to do it because right now you have no players with any size that are giving the effort. You have IO Dumo who is 6’5. You’ve got Kobe White who I think does go out there and try and give some effort. Um Josh Giddy needs a big to be paired up with him. Um, so at this point you got to go trade for that guy because he’s not on your team. Whether it’s for this season, whether it’s for the future season, but those guys are available right now. Whe I don’t want Kaminga, but at this point, if it’s Kaminga, like you got to find something because your plan of 10 guys that are really good that’ll go out there and compete. You don’t have that. So, I I would say there’s a bunch of trades that makes sense. Trey Murphy makes perfect sense. Is he gonna do any of them? Absolutely, man. Trey Murphy is the one like I mean, we talked about that earlier, so I want to revamp that whole conversation, but I would love uh Trey Murphy on this team. Like I said, it doesn’t do anything for the center, but it I do think it does something a lot for you from the um the talent standpoint that you definitely need. Um I guess we’ll just see, bro. I I I don’t know at this point anymore, bro. I really don’t know what’s gonna happen, man. Listen, they play the uh they play the Pacers on Friday at home and uh you going to get Seakum.
