FOX Sports’ Mark Schlereth on the Colts’ Chances to Hang onto AFC South Lead | The Rich Eisen Show
All right, let’s talk about the AFC playoff picture entering Thanksgiving weekend. You’ve got the Patriots is the only 10- win team. How about that? Yeah, that’s in the entire NFL. The Patriots are the only 10- win team. You’ve got the Broncos one half game behind them coming off of their buy. The Colts just lost to the Chiefs who are at six and five. The 10 seed, I mean, the Chiefs being the 10 seed. The Ravens have in fact run down the Steelers. We were all thinking at one and five, can they do it? Well, entering Thanksgiving week, taking on the Bengals on Thanksgiving night, they have. The Chargers are coming off of their buy. The Jaguars have just won a bunch of games by the skin of their teeth. Their only loss since their buy after the the London loss was a game that they led by 19 points. The Texans have come on strong. They’re above 500. And the Bills faced the Steelers this week. So, what do you want to see out of the final six weeks in the AFC? Your biggest question is what? Well, my biggest question I I I suppose like I really like the teams that stack the top. I like obviously the New England Patriots and you can say what you want. Brabable is a hell of a coach. Uh he believes in old school football controlling both lines of scrimmage and you can say whatever you want about Josh McDaniels as a head coach, as an offensive coordinator. The guy is phenomenal. He’s just phenomenal. And Drake May playing at an incredibly high level. the Broncos defensively. I mean, when you when you start talking about the Broncos or any team and you start um hearkening back to the 1985 Bears, like like anybody, and there’s I’m sure you have tons of people who watch you that that don’t really or aren’t really familiar with what the 85 Bears did, but let me just say coming in the league in ‘ 89 and playing the Bears, they were frightening even then. And when you start talking about a team in present- day football that that you can compare to the 85 Bears when it comes to pressuring the opponent’s quarterback, that team is legit. They are scary, the Broncos defensively. And they’ve been doing it without, you know, without Pat Certan and they’ve been doing it without Alex Singleton. So that’ll be really interesting to see them down the stretch. Um, and you know, I I we we talked about Baltimore. I I’m telling you, like Baltimore is interesting. Houston is really interesting to me because defensively all three levels they have superstars and Will Anderson and Denil Hunter like unbelievable edge pairing, but Will Anderson, he he doesn’t try to just beat you. He tries to humiliate you. Like he physically tries to to to like shorten your neck. I mean, it’s to watch him play. The physicality with which he plays is unbelievable. And I am not so sure they are going to get they’re going to get CJ Stra back. And I’m not so sure that the way Davis Mills has been playing that he’s not a better option right now. He is really Yeah, he’s really played he’s just played really good solid football that complements what they do on the defensive side of the ball. So they’re a really interesting team to me. And if if the Colts stumble a little bit down the stretch here, you know, all of a sudden they start to stumble, their passing game falls apart like it did in the fourth quarter in overtime of that game against Kansas City. Could I see Houston reeling the Colts in and winning their what, fourth straight division title? That’ll be interesting. Yeah. And the Jaguars are between them. Um and you know, the Jaguars had a chance to sweep the Texans being up by 19. That is a a loss that leaves a mark and keeps the Texans alive cuz that’s the difference between being 8 and3 like the Colts and the Texans being five and six and out of it or what you currently see on the screen with the Colts have yet to play the Jaguars or the Texans. So, the AFC South is definitely wide open. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

Colts 28
Texans 13
Colts ain't winning the division and neither are the Texans. Jags have the easiest remaining schedule. They survived their early season gauntlet while the Colts had a cake walk and now have the hard part of their schedule.
Need to include Cincinnati in these playoff graphics. Burrow back and an improved Defense 2 games back with 3-1 Division record.
Schlereth doesn't like the Jags for some reason. Skipped right over them. Is he still butt hurt from '97? (Jags upset Broncos in playoffs)
You hear it in is commentary of the game as well
21-20 Texans 🤘
Ohio State's Ryan Day "win with humility" A class act! Not like the thugs at michigan …head butt a referee…??
Lost all his credibility at 3:12
“I’m not sure Stroud is a better option. Davis Mills is playing really good complementary football”
Mills literally went for 150 yards with a 50% pass completion ☠️
C'mon Mark! Davis Mills and the offense only had 60 yards of offense in the second half of the Bills game.
colts 30-20 goshoes
CJ Stroud is not a better option than Mills? Credibility went straight to the sewer with that one. That is extreme recency bias talking. The offense has barely done just enough to win. Put Stroud in with the way the OL is performing right now as opposed to whatever they were doing before CJ went down and you’ll see a far superior offense to what Mills has been doing
Anyone who thinks Mills is better than Stroud is either really ignorant or really gullible
Hasn't seen davis mills play football, obviously. Mills is average on his best day. He played ok and made some solid plays, but overall the offense was trash.
The defense won those games. Mills won one with his legs and that's awesome. Love the guy, great backup. But please stop 😂 cj is qb one even when half injured and playing bad. He's still 100000% better than mills. Get serious
this is why I don't watch sports commentary from a national perspective. And I regret watching this. They know almost nothing of each team. He actually said with a straight face that Mills might be a better option. I will never watch another thing that man says. How stupid
This guy clearly doesn’t watch the Texans smh
Of course Broncos shill 2:15
3:04 dumbest take coming from broncos cheerleader mills?!
Davis Mills had his shot at becoming the starter and then Stroud was drafted. There is a reason Mills is QB2.
Jag haters?? We are going to win this division AFC south
The broncos dont even have the best defense this year let alone the 85 bears or 2000 ravens 😂
Jags schedule is so easy. They have the better chance to win division.
Houston Texans will win the division again and noone wants to play them.
Stroud is a top tier qb when he is on, dude plays like a top 5 player when he has a competent o line. Millie is nowhere near him.
Texans 23 — Colts -3. Texans d will find a way.
If the Patriots finish as the 1 seed they will shatter the record for the lowest strength of schedule for a 1 seed in NFL history. The Pats have a .331 SOS, the Texans and KC have ola SOS of over .500
Hey here’s a good fact for you all. The last 5 times the #1 offense has played the #1 defense, the offense is 5-0. Here are a few things this channel doesn’t mention . The colts have th best offensive line in football. They are the most BALANCED team with a really good defense especially adding sauce Gardner and that secondary. The colts have way more weapons than the Texas in Tyler Warren, Alec Pierce , Josh downs, Micheal Pittman and not to mention Johnathan Taylor. So let’s not talk like the Colts cannot destroy you with so many Weapons. CJ stroud and Nico can only do so much so yes Texans have a good defense but why is nobody talking about the Texans offense. It is not good and will not be good enough to beat the colts at all especially in the colts house. The colts are the much more balanced team in the nfl. On top of that the Houston offense is suspect. Where are the points gonna come from vs this Colts defense??? You wanna leave out that Houston offense and how bad it is. The Houston offense doesn’t do anythin good. The online is not good and they are very very mediocre
The Clots and their ownership perpetuated a fraud on Indianapolis and surrounding counties when they lobbied for a new stadium, Lucas Oil. Every time I pay for a restaurant meal my sales tax is 29% higher due to the tax imposed to fund the stadium. I have no interest in attending a Colts home game. They are at best mediocre and the supposed benefit to Indianapolis is of little consequence since the city has become a shooting gallery. Perhaps the added tax should have gone towards public safety.
DUUUVAL!!!!
Corrupt NFL mob owned . Stop watching NFL. Its fake and all an illusion. Save your time and money!
