McDonagh deserves so much more credit as a shutdown defender than he gets league-wide. Really happy we got him back and get him for another 3 seasons for that price.

Mac truck is one of the best defensive defense men in the league. I wish he got the same recognition as Slavin and got to play in the 4 nations tourney.
This is fantastic. His family and him clearly love it here and he’s a warrior. Sure, he’ll slow down as he approaches 40 but his compete level won’t drop.

$4.1 million for a reliable Defence Defenceman who plays with a D first mentality is great.
I can see him being still a Top 6/7th D when his new contract is done.
Obviously the only question mark is the staying healthy part as he gets older.
Always liked McD as a defenceman with his Hockey IQ for defending. The stat year hes been having is just the cherry ontop.
~$2 million saved which hopefully can be used to extend Moser.
