Jayden Reed on his injury recovery and practicing again

J, how did you feel your first practice outside of Yeah, it was good. I felt great just to be back out there with the guys. Uh, it was just good being back. How do you feel? As close to 100% as I feel pretty good. Trending Sunday. I don’t know, man. We going We going to see. Time will tell. What do you need to see? What what has to be right in the next four days to know? I mean, I just got to get cleared by the docks, really. Uh, that’s really the the last step to be honest. What’s been the hardest part about sitting out? I’m sorry. Go ahead. If you could play Sunday, what would it mean to come out against a team like the Bears? It’ll be great, man, just to go against a North opponent. Um, you know, this the basically playoff time of the season, you know, playing in December. So, uh, it’ll be great going back out there playing against them. What’s been the hardest part about sitting out? Uh hardest part about sitting out. I kind of enjoyed it a little bit. Uh just to watch other guys, you know, go out there and take advantage of the opportunity. And uh I mean, yeah, man. This was like really my first time. I never had surgery ever in my career. So that was my first time literally uh sitting out besides me being in college and sitting out um when I transferred. But other than that, yeah, I I kind of enjoyed it, man. Those guys bought out. So, you know, I enjoy watching them. Is there anything different coming back now after sitting out for the first real time with surgery? Is there anything you can learn from it or take from it out on the field? Really, just patience, man. Like, I I learned a lot about patience. Uh, I learned how to cook. Um, so that’s pretty much it. What uh what do you think you can bring to the offense as it’s starting to get uh trended in the right direction? Uh just juice, man. Uh energy. Uh I’m I’m a high motor guy, I think. Um I like to bring a lot of juice and energy. Um, so yep. They ask, “What did you learn how to cook?” A lot of things, man. Uh, pasta was probably the first one. Um, I made breakfast a lot. Um, I made salmon, uh, honey hot shrimp, uh, fried chicken wings, you name it, anything. Rotel, anything. You got a favorite? Uh, I like my Rotel the most. It tastes the best to me. youtubing stuff or what? Uh, kind of. Yeah. And then my lady uh kind of helped me. Uh, so yep. Kind of get best of both world. Jaden, speaking of guys who stepped up, what was your just your perspective on Dante and what he did against the Lions? Just kind of Yeah, man. I mean, that’s something I knew he can do from the the time I met him, the time I seen him at the Senior Bowl. Um, he’s always had the talent, you know, is it just takes opportunity to to see it. So, um, you know, he took advantage of that last week and he’s going to continue to do that. Jason, speaking of the Lions game as a whole, just what did you see from the offense and the way it was clicking out there, especially with Jordan throwing for four touchdowns? I just feel like everything was free. Like everybody was playing free, confident. Uh, even like everything like all the coaches, we all believed in each other, you know, on the sideline. We was all engaged, you know, um, asking each other about certain plays. Uh, we was just together, man. It just everything was clicking and it just, you know, it showed out on the field. With the magnitude of Sunday, how do you make sure you have the same mindset of playing free um as a team, man? I I’ve been through enough, you know, and I’ve been through so I never doubt myself, you know. I I’ve been through a lot of my life. So, um at this point, you know, I’ve always had confidence in everything I do. There’s no doubt, you know, that I can go out there and play to the best of my ability. So, yeah. Gina, what excites you most about facing the Bears and just this historic rivalry? Uh, it’s my hometown, man. I grew up watching the Bears, to be honest. And I, you know, it’s just a blessing to be able to go out there and, you know, participate in this rivalry. So, um, I’m excited just to, you know, be be a part of it.
