NY Giants Mock Draft via NFL Draft Expert Dane Brugler

We’re at the point of the Giants season where there’s still games left to play, but it’s over and they are eliminated from the playoffs. So, we are looking ahead to the NFL draft. Shout out to Dame Bugler, the best in the business from the Athletic. He put out his first mock draft and we’re going to break it down on today’s video. A lot of people have been saying though, Marsh, I want more NFL draft content. If that’s you, if you want to see more mock drafts and things of that such on this channel, hit that thumbs up icon for me so I can know. [Music] You’re watching Giants Now by Chat Sports. I am your host, Marshall Green. Let’s go ahead and skip into this one. Dane Bugler releasing his first NFL mock draft where the New York Giants are picking closer to one than we all would like. If the draft was today, the New York Giants would have the number two overall pick as they sit at 2 and 11 heading into their NFL by week. They have a win percentage of just.154 and they have lost seven in a row. But Dame Bugler did the smart thing and maybe a thing that I am hoping the New York Giants can do and that’s trade down for Big Blue. He said this, “I don’t like predicting mock draft trades this early in the cycle, but added if the Titans and Giants finish with the top two picks as it stands now, there will be movement early.” And Dave Bugler actually has the New York Giants trading down in round one with the Las Vegas Raiders just really going down over one spot as he has them trading down from number two to number four. He also has the Cleveland Browns trading up to the number one pick with the Tennessee Titans and he has them selecting another quarterback. I guess it’s just one and done with Shidor Sanders and one and done with uh what what’s his name? G Dylan Gabriel from Oregon. They are selecting or he has them selecting Fernando Mendoza, the quarterback out of Indiana. And then it’s backto back quarterbacks with the number two pick that the Raiders acquired from the New York Giants. They are selecting the Oregon Duck gunslinger Dante Moore. Some talk maybe he goes to the pros, maybe he comes back. If he’s going number two, I don’t see why he would go back. Then Arll Ree. I say he’s an edge rusher. Some people say he’s an offball linebacker. More than 50% of his snaps are off the edge. And Dame Bugler has the New Orleans Saints selecting him number three overall. Talented player, good enough to do both. What will he do in the National Football League? My question to you is, what would you do if you were the Giants general manager and you held the number four overall pick and the first three went Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore, and Arll Ree. Sound off for me down below. Dane Bugler of the Athletic has the New York Giants with the fourth overall pick selecting wide receiver Carnell Tate out of the Ohio State. 6’3, 195 lbs. He is having a breakout year this year for the Buckeyes. Buger wrote this quote, “I didn’t expect Tate to be this high when I started this exercise, but it speaks to the unpredictability of this year’s top 10. The Buckeyes pass catcher is impressively detailed as a route runner, especially on vertical patterns, and his length and focus make him a ball winner at the catch point. Tate would compliment Malik Neighbors really well and reflect the Giants desire to surround their young quarterback Jackson Dart with more help. I went back and I watched all the catches from Carnell Tate in 2024 and I watched a lot of his game tape this year as well with a highlight reel of all of his catches from this year and he is an extremely talented player. I think he would mesh really well with Malik Neighbors. And I don’t mind going all in on the offense and surrounding Jackson Dart with weapons. And the last two years as a Buckeye, he’s been effective. 52 grads for 733 yards, north of 14 yards per catch and 48.9 yards per game with four touchdowns last year in 15 games played. And then in 2025, he’s played in nine games, has 44 grabs for almost 800 yards, moving his average up to 18 yards per catch, 88 yards per game, and eight touchdowns. The New York Giants 100% could use a playmaker on the outside like Tate as they try to step into this new era of Jackson Dart football. We’ll continue to break this down on today’s show, but I want to see you involved in the comments section. If you were the guy that held the red pen and you were grading Buger’s mock draft, what would you give it? ABCD or FF with the New York Giants selecting Cardell Tate at number four. I want to go to also hear what Mel Kyper had to say about Tate. When he released his most recent big board, he had a ride up for every player and he said this about Tate. Quote, Ohio State has turned into wide receiver U with a Mecca Ebuka being the most recent star wide out to come out of Columbus. And while most of the college football world focuses on Jeremiah Smith, who wasn’t eligible for the draft this year, Tate is putting up some serious numbers and showing why he is the top prospect for this class. Tate has produced big plays on a regular basis, averaging 18.2 yards per catch this season. He has a precise route runner, has great hands, and displaying outstanding body control, and he’ll also happily block for ball carriers, which NFL coaches love to see. I reached out to my guy Billy BBE who covers Ohio State football here at Chat Sports and I said, “Give me a quick little scouting report, Art Carnell Dayton.” Shout out to Billy. He’s always working. He said, “Size, speed, tremendous hands, very strong, and durable.” And I said, “Who is his NFL cop?” And he said, “The Higgins.” I also talked to my guy Harrison Graham and some other NFL draft nerds up here at Chat Sports. said some AJ Green comps, maybe a less yards after catch guy than George Pickkins. He is an outside wide receiver that wins with his route running, but strong hands, acrobatic, he could go up to the top shelf and pluck it off a defender’s head. He is what you want in an outside boundary wide receiver. And uh I am uh I would like to see him as a New York Giant. There was some other receivers that I like in this class and we’ll go through the rest of Dane Buger’s mockdraft as we’re not so sure the New York Giants will pick number two overall. I do know this though, this hoodie at 50% off is a steal and you can get it at chatsports.com/giants hoodie. That’s chatsports.com/giants hoodie. All right, so are the New York Giants going to end up picking number two in the NFL draft? If it was today, that is where they would be selecting. But as you look at the rest of the schedule once they get back from their by-week, there are a couple winnable games. As you get to play the three and nine commanders, the four-9 Vikings, the two-10 Raiders. Like, am I going to be shocked if the New York Giants win two of those three games? Maybe they win one of those three games. Maybe they win all three or they lose all three. And then Dallas, who is one of the hotter teams in the NFL, postNFL trade deadline day, they are surging at the right time. The NFC East is still up for grabs for them. And that could be a game where Dallas must win to punch their tickets to the dance. You go back and look at the NFL draft order. It’s pretty tight. Like, yeah, the Titans have the number one pick, but then there’s two teams with or three teams with two losses, then you have four teams with three losses, and then three more teams with four losses. So, a little bit too early, I would say, to write and Sharpie. The New York Giants are going to pick number two. So, I thought it’d be a good idea to take a look at some other top picks that Bugler made. He had Kendrick Faulk, the edge out of Auburn, going to Tennessee. Ruben Bane Jr., the defensive lineman out of Miami, going number six to Washington. Another wide receiver prospect that I like a lot, maybe even a little bit more than Carell Tate. Uh, still got to do some more more work on that is Jordan Tyson, the Arizona State wide receiver. But I’m sure Cam Scataboo uh could help out there. David Bailey, the edge out of Texas Tech, going number eight to Arizona, Arizona. And then Spencer Fanu, the offensive tackle out of Utah. Caleb DS, the doit all safety out of Ohio State. Jeremiah Love, the running back out of Notre Dame to Minnesota. Then Mansour Delane, the corner out of LSU, going number 12 to Miami. And then you see the rest of the four picks. Kenyan Sadi, a tight end out of Oregon that I really like. The Steelers get their quarterback. Ty Simpson out of Bama at 14. Peter Woods, maybe the best defensive tackle in this class, goes number 15. And then Gerard McCoy, the corner out of Tennessee that’s dealing with some injuries. Name a player you want the New York Giants to draft in round one in 2026. Sound off for me in the comments section. Appreciate everybody for clicking on today’s video. 1. To many teams need a QB for us to not want to trade down. We will get good trade for that pick. We can trade down with the raiders then again with who ever else really

  2. I love a high tier receiver like the rest of you but if we can trade down to like 8 and take Caleb downs I think he would really help the defense out man he’s a stud and could be a leader in that locker room I vote vote trade down and then downs lol

  3. As a Notre Dame Fan… J Love would be electric.. perfect playmaker to offset Nabers and Skatt getting healthy again. I would kill to get J Love… however. I doubt it.

  4. No they will pick 4 or 6, as Washington at least will give it up to them by losing. What does Brugler say they get in Return? I would probably do a Double trade down and stack even more picks, of Course I don't think Schoen will be making those picks anyway. Also if I was one of those top two QB's and Cleveland picked me I would pull an Elway/Eli and say no way do I play for QB Hell.

  5. saints need a qb , not taking edge rusher . we can't take a wr at #4 — but idk who the hell we take in 1st round , 2 years ago az cards took marvin harrison jr at #4 from OSU , he was supposed to be a CONSENSUS game changer generational player , he is decent , last time we took a wr @#5 ,
we took undersized gadget kid half assed toney , and gifted micah f'ing parsons to dallas
