Bio: I joined the Globe staff in 2019 after having covered college and professional sports in Boston for two decades. I've also written several books on the Patriots, including “The Blueprint,” “Drive For Five,” and “The Complete Illustrated History of the New England Patriots.” I’ve also been honored by Northeastern University, New England Press Association, and the North Carolina Press Association for my work.

We did an AMA at the beginning of the year, but I wanted to check back in to talk about how things look at the start of the stretch run to the playoffs, what it’s like covering the team, and much more. Ask me anything! I'll be answering your questions Thursday, Dec. 4 from 11am-1pm.

  3. What is your view of the Patriots’ media team? Fred, Paul, Mike, Evan, Alex, etc? Do you think they’re actually able to cover the team objectively? Anyone you like or dislike in particular? Do you ever listen to their podcasts?

  6. How do you feel about the Globe effectively becoming a PR machine for John Henry and Fenway Sports Group?

  7. Why do you think Kraft went with Mayo immediately instead of better coaches available? Do you think Mayo fooled him with confidence?

    Was it a sacrificial down year that Kraft didn’t want a good coach to get shafted with?

  10. do you think that the Patriots looking the way they have will help them get free agents bc they want to play with Drake Maye, be coached by Mike Vrabel or do you think it will take another season or two of consistent winning before they get back to that status again

    From the outside, it looks like the WRs this year is uncommonly tight and supportive group. Being around them, does it seem to you like they stand out in that sense?

    Has Vrabel talked about similarities & differences between Will Campbell and Tennessee’s guard Skoronski? That was a huge topic before the draft but I hadn’t seen him address it.

  15. Do you miss when freedom of speech was real? I miss when journalism did research, and wasn’t bought out out. Makes it easy to understand why journalist use ai to do there job these days.

  23. I’d like to know more about players world away from the stadium. I mean most players are in their 20’s and I assume live around the very quiet rural Foxborough area. Not much of a social life there. I recall a story where randy moss said he went to the stadium or stayed in his area condo and played xbox.
    Brady lived in downtown boston and brookline yet drove to the stadium every day, man I would get tired of that commute fast.

  24. which team poses the worst matchup for us in the playoffs? who do we not want to see under no circumstances?

  26. Do you worry about AI moving into journalism? On a separate Patriots question, what’s one thing that you’ve witnessed behind the scenes that’s expanded your understanding of football?

  31. Now that AI is going to obviously destroy your job (which you suck at), what is your next move? Do you have your resume updated?
