I can’t repeat this often enough, this organization has zero business trading any draft picks. They are on pace for 12 wins and have zero cap space and no 1st round pick. So Claxton adds what, 2 wins? Great, you just traded another pick so that you could get to 14 wins.
In terms of sheer value I think it’s close to be a fair deal, but I don’t see why would the Nets do that trade. Clax and Sharpe are the only rostered C’s on their side and unless they intend to flip Z, there is no reason for them to trade Claxton
Zion had nowhere near this trade value. Honestly, if we get a half decent rotation player and a second round pick it’s a steal.
I don’t want anyone off the nets. Best we can hope for is to get out from under his salary. If we can’t get anything worthwhile maybe just release him and sign Chris Paul. Great basketball mind to mentor Fears and clean up our bonehead mistakes at the end of games
