Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be sidelined for approximately 2 to 4 weeks with a right calf strain… rip

  1. This Shams dude really didn’t add: 2 weeks time is Dec 15 when trade market opened for all recent signings blahblahblah

  2. Well Doc is a better coach when no one gives us a shot like last night. Let’s keep it rolling I guess.

  3. I trust future all stars KPJ and Rollins, and future three-point contest winner AJ Green to hold it down.

  4. I hate to question him but it’s a pretty convenient timeline if you want to be traded

  5. Lines up with the “in the coming weeks they’ll find a resolution” post from yesterday

  6. What an amazing coincidence that right when Giannis is looking like he will get traded for real this time (17th times the charm ESPN and r/NBA lmao), he gets a soft tissue injury that will keep him out long enough for a trade to get finalized without concern of a serious injury derailing a trade. Wouldn’t be the first time a trade plays out like that…

Yeah, he’s gone by the time this “heals” up. Hopefully we get a decent haul back and dont trade him for a half of season of someone who doesn’t want to be here. If this turns into Ray Allen for Gary Payton again, this team is likely absolutely fucked for the next several years, probably longer.

Edit: Its clear reading through posts that some of you are bigger Giannis fans than Bucks fans. I’ll be curious to see how many folks migrate off of this subreddit once Giannis is moved.

  7. I was rolling my eyes at the idea of Giannis faking it but this absolutely perfect timeline is too much.

If he really gets traded in 2 weeks, I’ll lose a ton of respect for Giannis. Kinda pathetic overall. Hope it’s not the case.

  8. Will be downvoted again but he has a 2-4 week injury and he just haaaaad to go to the hospital immediately versus cheering his team on the bench? That was the most telling.

  9. Well this sure is convenient. It’s either this franchise has encountered the worse fortune we possibly could since our championship or something fishy is going on. The timing of this injury amidst the reports is impeccable. I love Giannis and beyond thankful for everything he has done for the bucks and mke, but I just can’t shake this feeling that this is part of the plan. The timing and reports just line up so perfectly. Either way, I was starting to think it was time to move on and this gives both parties a chance at a brighter future ahead. For Giannis’ championship aspirations and for the outlook of the bucks franchise post Giannis era. What a ride it’s been.

  10. Man I’m kinda shocked by the comments. Everything with Giannis’ integrity, work ethic, etc points to him not faking an injury. If he’s traded before he gets back, sure we can think along these lines. But until that happens, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt, he’s earned it

Let’s not forget the trade request report came from Shams the Scam…

  11. Think about how stupid some of yall sound.

The team assessed and diagnosed giannis with a calf injury, all so that it potentially lines up with the opens up trade talks, so that giannis can leave?

Why would any organization do that? Even if he does leave, it’s not because the team is in kahoots or trying to make sure he didnt have any potential to harm himself so that they get a big haul.

This is a waking up from an afternoon nap level of stretching.

  12. If it’s 2 weeks:

    – 76ers
    – @Pistons
    – Celtics
    – @Nets
    – Raptors

    If 3 you can add:

    – @Wolves
    – @Pacers
    – @Grizzlies

And at 4 weeks it’ll also add:

    – @Bulls
    – @Hornets
    – Wizards

There’s some games we should almost certainly win on paper here, and some that are going to be challenging. I guess it’s a pretty good stretch for him to assess the talent level of the team around him

  13. 0% chance someone like giannis would fake an injury especially considering our current record.

  14. I think this will be good for the young guys. Let’s see what Rollins + KPJ can do on their own. This will up Sims minutes as well. Giannis is the present, and hopefully the future, but he needs some developed players around him, and these are the periods where those players develop.

Rollins and KPJ leading to play off each other with their scoring and playmaking abilities would be an awesome development.

I also forgot about AJ Green, only 26 and one of the best 3 pt shooters in this league.

  15. Get healthy, King. Hopefully we find a new HC and get our lineup working sans Giannis and then make a nice playoff run.
