McAvoy RETURNS! Bruins Trade Buzz Heating Up… But Pastrnak Still Out
Welcome to Bruins Die Hards, your source for all things Boston Bruins. And today it’s the second episode podcast that I’m trying here. I I know I do my video series, but this will be the second podcast. And I have a familiar face if you’ve seen me do podcasts with me. Um his name is Evan Marinowski. Uh he’s from the New England Hockey Journal. Also, you know, Bruins beat uh CNNs you and also all over every single podcast. I He even was on Nessen the other day, you know. No big deal. No big deal. Um I was actually very impressed to see him there. It was like popped up on my TV. I was watching the Bruins game and then after the Bruins game, all of a sudden Evan comes flying up on my TV. Um but uh I’m so sorry. Hey, I was proud of you. Like it’s it’s I always joke because like I I do this and I’ I’ve been on podcast and in other ways, shape or form. I’ve done other things. Like I’ve I’ve done for some reason a Vancouver podcast. It’s like CBC. It’s it’s uh our broadcast channel here. They asked me to be on once and I was just like, do you know who like why? But um Hell yeah. I was happy to see you, Evan. It was It was great to see you there. It was fun. It was nice. It’s weird like I host so much that when like I’m on here and it’s it’s you know on this like the guest on Ness and I was the guest. It’s weird not being in control like I I don’t I don’t know what to do. I’m like what do I how do I do this? So but it was nice. Nessa was fun. I never met Sophia. She was awesome. Razer I’ve known for Yes, she is Canadian. Uh Razer Canadian as well. I’ve known him for a little while because his son plays in the area, so I’ve covered his son actually uh who had a really good game on Wednesday night. So, congrats to him. Um but yeah, no, I’ve known him for a bit. But it was really fun. It was fun. And I didn’t know it was live until I got on there and they were like in a commercial break. I was like, “Why are they doing a recorded commercial? Just edit that in after.” And the producer’s like, “No, it’s live.” I was like, “Oh, okay.” Yeah. Like I was, like I said, it just like you popped up on the TV. I’m like, “All right, I guess uh Evan’s doing the game.” But, uh, we’re going to talk about the Bruins falling to the Red Wings. Uh, since my last video, I did a trade video. I’m not going to talk about Garland and the whole Sherwood thing, especially with the latest tweet where I I put up myself hanging myself cuz this whole like Sherwood to Boston thing, uh, I’ll get your take on it. I I’m not a big fan of it. I think they already have they have an older version of Sherwood in Tanner Jano who is like I said before I was wrong. I was wrong about Tanner Jano. As of right now, the contract does not look bad. We’ll see what happens in the future. I think he’s been very serviceable for the Boston Bruins. I just think Keith Basherwood is is going to cost too much and it’s I I just don’t think it’s it’s going to be the thing. We’re also going to talk about the Olympics because there are some news around the Olympics in the Boston Bruins. Morgan Geeki, David Passac is still injured. Charlie Makavoy practiced today in a non-cont jersey. Hallelujah. Um, the Bruins have called up Sodestrom because they have another injury. And we’re gonna have some fun at the end because everybody keeps asking me in my comments if the Bruins would trade for Quinn Hughes. So, we’re going to have hypotheticals around the Bruins trading for Quinn Hughes and what that would cost the Bruins. But, Evan, I want to know your take first on Sherwood before I get into everything else we’re going to talk about. So, I was watching your video yesterday um and I liked it. It was fantastic. I told you this before we started. Um, and I agree with you on Sherwood. And the reason being, you have Jano, you have so many guys in that middle six in your in your fourth line that do the same thing. And to get a guy like Sherwood, the rumor is what? A first and a and a prospect. No. And and you know what? Like if the Bruins were a team full of speed and skill, if they were the complete opposite team, I’d say yes, you got to go get that guy. You need that kind of guy. Remember those Bruins teams when they go out and get like Nick Richie? Like those teams could have used and they trade a guy like Dan Heinen and still hurts me to this day. Yes. Like that’s the team that needed Keer Sherwood. You don’t need that kind of player. And that’s okay. Like and you’re a team in the you’re a team in transition. It’s sort of a bridge year. He’s a a pending UFA. You don’t need to overextend for that. I don’t care if it’s the Florida first or a future first we’re not thinking of. I’m not I’m not for that. Um let a team that’s on the verge of contention that is or not on the verge on the you know on the cusp of a cup. Let them do that. Let them overpay. The Canucks are kind of I think you said this court so I’m taking the words right out of your mouth. They’re kind of doing what you did last year with like selling off pieces. And Garland’s interesting because Garland’s under control after this year for like six just over six for a for like six years. Um, and that’s great, but and it would let Connor finally post that article that he’s wanted to for forever that Connor Garland as a editor of New England Hockey Journal. That would that would hit every right note with me as a as the host of Bruins beat and what you know what the Bruins should do. I don’t know if he gives you enough of an upgrade over what you have to to pay that. Like I I say like yeah, if you’re going to deal a first, deal it for someone who’s part of your core court. I love Connor Garland. I love watching him. I just don’t I’m not sold that he is a an upgrade over like a geeky. Um and it’s crazy to say at this point like I think you have you have guys coming. And the other thing is like I want to see these prospects. I do. I know in every sport you’ve got to pick and choose who you James Higgins. That’s right. Yeah. I figured it’s only like four minutes in. So I was like you can It’s not even like a minute in so we can say Yeah. I can mention James Hagens at this point. Um but that’s my thing is like I I don’t know if Garland’s enough of an upgrade to then say, “All right, you know what? Let’s deal a first and a care.” He’s got a ton of term and their division. They’re right where we all think they’re going to be. I agree. The other thing is, and this hurts me to say as someone who’s 5’10, like he’s 5’8 and he’s and I love the way he plays. His compete is so damn high, but how does that age? And I hate saying that because I just because my dad was the shortest Boston, one of the shortest Boston Bruins ever to play on the team and I don’t think also he is not 5’8. Um there I saw an interview with him once and he’s like I am not 5’8. He is definitely in the 5’6 5’7 area. He is not. I want to go to Vancouver and stand said by S cuz I’m 5’8 and a half. I guarantee you I am taller than that man because he gets complimented. He gets talked about as being like my dad like all the time on the uh uh him and Hoglander. They always talk they always compare him to my dad out in Vancouver. I don’t think the size is the issue. I just think um the age is an issue with the NHL the way it’s going. You look at Celibbrini. You look at Conor Baddard. You look at all these guys that have taken over the standings. It used to be at 35 that’s when you got your bag and you became a UFA and that’s when you got your money. When my dad played when you were 35, that’s when you started to retire. It is getting to that again is becoming a young man’s game. Unless you’re, you know, the guys like Sado who were physically fit and they kept themselves. Connor Garland is supposedly that guy. He is crazy into like everything like that. But I look at a guy like Mark Stone out in Vegas where I’m like, “How much mileage has this guy got left on?” Oh, yeah. I agree. It’s like he’s a step behind. Garland’s what, 29? 28, I believe. I I’ll double check. He’s not He’s not old by any means. I mean, you But I think the big old Yeah. I think the thing with Garland’s more so just like how does the how does the body hold up? That’s that’s one thing that’s a question I have like what’s he in year four of that contract? If you’re dealing a first and a top prospect you really like for Connor Garland, what is he in year four when you’re hoping to be back in that Stanley Cup contention? And you could have got him so much cheaper years ago and it would have made Conor Ryan way hoppier. But again, I am not in on that. I I’ve done a whole thing on that. He is Where’s the cap? Here we go. Why are we not showing the roster? Here we go. Connor Garland is 29 years old. You are correct. He’s uh $6 million a year cap and he goes up to a no move clause. Yeah, I’m out. I’m even that. But regardless of that, the Boston Bruins kind of came back down to earth against the Detroit Red Wings, who is the team that we’ve all said for the last three years, hey, the when are the Red Wings going to be good? Um they have some of the best young defense in the NHL. Morts Cider, I I freaking love that guy. I I know uh Castle’s fists also love his his face, but give him props for even going a guy like that. Like Cider is not a tough guy. Yeah, I I thought this was great. Like the fact that he stood up for himself like that, like we talked about Sherwood, like Sherwood would be a guy that would fit what Detroit needs. Um Exactly. Like props to him and and even again like going into the door off on uh on Tuesday night the way he was do like hell yeah, man. Like it’s dangerous if I’m if I’m Detroit. I’m like, I don’t want this guy getting injured because I love Moshire, too. I think he has all the tools. But yeah, I mean, I I I you know, your props for going in there and going up against Castell. No, no qualms for me. So, my take away from that was Jeremy Swayman, who I don’t care what you say in my comments, he has been one of the best goalies in the NHL over the last month and a half. Uh he he literally was in like the day before they were all the athletic was like he’s in the and um Dom was talking about how he is Dom um who does the analytics Domiano they were talking about uh how he’s in the running for the heart and they were saying like he’s he’s up there for the Vzna with the guy over in Minnesota Walat uh who’s also like in run for the Calder but uh he had a bad game. It was also a six start in the last eight games. Uh, we know last year when they tried to extend him like that, it didn’t seem to work out. It they kind of had to do it based with the the schedule. I think when they looked at the schedule, I think this was originally a Corposello start and then they looked at the schedule. They got St. Louis tonight who I would assume Corpusalo gets the start tonight. Um, they didn’t really say I saw the lineup for what practice was. We don’t really know, but I would assume you’re going to give Corposal that the St. Louis Blues because they’re not as good of a team and you would you want Swayman to play the divisional game. But at the same time, I know people say they should be able to play every game. Goalies don’t do that anymore. That’s that’s like not the NHL, but you know what? I wish Swayman played good. He played terrible. He did. He stunk. He looked like last year. He stunk. I do expect him to come back because he also had that seven he got blown out in that seven got seven goals uh at the beginning of the season. I expect him to be fine, but the Bruins were resilient and they came back in the game. Yeah. And Corposalo came in in cleanup duty and made a bunch of big saves. Like I I got to give him that, too. Yeah. Swayman, it’s interesting because like he was on such a great run. And you think about like that Islanders game the day before Thanksgiving, he was fantastic. Uh Detroit on Saturday night, he was great. And you’re right, like he’s been being used a ton. And I think it’s encouraging that up until Tuesday it was like, oh, he’s playing a lot and he’s playing well, which as you said has been sort of a boon for him for a long time. Um, yeah, I I mean I think I would also say like there was there were some big defensive breakdowns in front of him, too. You got I mean the I think it was the Debrink goal. You got to have that. Like that’s you know, you got to have that% but he’s also you know they missed the like both Lind Holmes missed the puck. Like there were a lot of weird things on that play that was KDR goal. I can’t blame him believe it or not because that was a hell of a shot. Like wow. What a shot. I would love him to have the breaking goal, but I also I I always say this. I can I have a hard time blaming um the breaker one like it slid through him. There was also five other guys that let that chance become a chance, especially and I know he’s my whipping boy this year, but Andrew Peak has been absolutely dreadful. It was funny. They gave him that like hustle the hustle award what a month ago and he’s been the worst defenseman on the team since. Well, he he was out for all five goals against Detroit, right? And then the other thing is like um the uh Ben Sherat goal where he comes in and he’s wide open in the high slot and there’s four Bruins on each side of them. No one converging and like that’s like yeah you want Swayman to get that but also yeah you need your defense and you need your your backing forwards to do something there. So I think it was a tough night. Like I’m not worried about Swayman. Neither am I. Not yet. Um I mean they’re getting used a lot. The schedule’s crazy. The schedule’s insane. I think that’s why you’re seeing an uptick in injuries everywhere, by the way. Like I think, you know, a lot of Bruins fans are focused on the Bruins. Every most teams are dealing with a lot of stuff. Y like like a lot of injuries. Toronto, the Atlantic division is like walking wounded, ravaged. And you know what? The Bruins have it bad because you’re you’re down Post, you’re down Maka Boy, uh you’ve been, you know, clearly guys are dealing with things. Zaka, Elias Lindholm, like no question. Zaka, something’s going on with that guy. It feels like it, doesn’t it? It looks like it. Um, so I, you know, that’s the thing where like everybody’s dealing with it. It’s the condensed schedule, man. Like I think it’s weird on guys. I’m very curious to see what the league looks like, you know, in a month. Like I don’t know. I’m not Yeah, we’ll get to because I do want to talk Olympics. We’ll get to that. But I I I just looked at this Bruins team and I thought there was no way that they can continue to rely on Swayman and their PK to win them hockey games. And it finally the damn broke. Like I’m not I’m I think the Boston Bruins still have been better than I thought they would 100%. I thought that they would be run-of-the-mill wild card, but still like not really in it right now. And they would lose games. And they’re winning games that I thought they would lose 100%. I thought even that Detroit game, um they they they were down so early and I was like, “Well, this game’s over.” The fact that they came back, I’ll give it to them. Like I was very impressed with it. The fact that Geeki got assists pissed me off because I was going he was going for that Sai Young this year, you know, and now all of a sudden the guy’s just like uh he’s trying to set people up. I do think that the injuries are getting to them because I was happy for Asper getting his first goal, but yeah, after a while it can become yes, it’s next man up, but also at the same time it’s like who am I even playing with anymore? Like Middlestat looks great coming back, but it’s like you look left, you look right. Husidinov gets another goal, but you know, Lynholm, Elias Lynholm hasn’t looked comfortable since he came back. I don’t want to see bad. He just doesn’t look comfortable out there since he’s been back in the lineup. I don’t know what’s going on there. Middle stat looked jump right back in. It looked fine. Elias was interesting because it’s like I agree with you, doesn’t look comfortable. And there were a lot of times pre the end of last season, so like for most of last season, you just didn’t notice him much. And that’s concerning. And I think uh since he’s come back and even at the beginning of the year he had no five on five points. He you know credit to him he was great on the power play but no five on five points. And I think even recently like I look back at those the debrink goal and even the sher goal. Um I think he was on for both might have been on for more but I I just vividly remember those of him being right there and it’s like that’s like you’re paid a lot in part to to those to to um to take those out. Yes. And and look mistakes happen. Bad nights. It happens. But um he has he he has worried me a little bit. And then back to your point about the Bruins being better than you thought. I’m in the same boat. I you know I didn’t expect them to be I expected them to be you know competitive. I think everybody would feel better 15 and 13 and0. They were 15 nine and four. Like everybody would feel better if they had those like four extra points on the end of it and less regulation losses. But at the end of the day, court, like beginning of the year, I said they’re going to be a 500 team around Thanksgiving, and that’s essentially what they are. And I think the way that the injuries have hit them, um the way they played the last like two to three weeks, they’re a 500 club. Like, and I think even if you look at the beginning of the season, too, they lost all those games, then they won all those games, and they were still right around 500. Like, they’re a they’re a middle of the pack team. They’re better than I thought I I thought they would be like bottom of the middle of the pack. Right now, they’re firmly middle of the pack and that’s that’s fine. Um but again, wonder what these next four to five games store for them. Like you have St. Louis twice, you have Winnipeg. Both those teams are lower than you in the standings. So you think Winnipeg’s missing Halib Winnipeg’s missing halibuck as well. Uh you have New Jersey. So even though I think these games could be a spot where they fall off, the opponents aren’t hardest opponents. So like I think they still continue to tread water here. I I I agree. And you talk about the injuries like Henry Yuki Hibru, Michael Callahan comes in a game out. Jordan Harris comes in out and then good news for Bruins fans, Charlie Makavoy skated today in a non-cont jersey. He is wearing the bubble. Uh the Char bubble. He is definitely wearing it. Um, I saw those original photos. I was more um when they started circulating those photos that his wife put up on Instagram, who she did take down, by the way, and I think it’s because of the amount of people were noticing that they were in a a a children’s hospital. Um, there’s more going on. Like, a lot of people thought when Sullivan left and came back and took a leave of absence, it was about, you know, Makavoy. I I think it was about the Makavoy family, but you know, his jaw is definitely wired shut. Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know it like No, I’m I’m just I’m I am speculating. I am not a doctor. I am going by those photos. He can’t even like like there’s no separation there. And when I was watching in the practice because they have the videos out. If you if you want go on Boston Bruins Twitter, they posted videos of him on the ice. He’s not talking out there. when he’s when he’s taking line rushes and stuff. He’s he’s out there practicing with the boys. Um the diagnostics uh well the sorry they’re saying right now that he is he will be back for the Olympics. So team USA has already said like Mackoy will be back. He was already named to the team so they say he’s going. So I know if it was the playoffs I guarantee you because everybody talks about the Char thing. He would be playing if it’s the playoffs 1,000%. But you’re again you’re a 500 hockey club. Um, he plays when he can I think when he can speak is my guess. Yeah. And and when he can eat normally. Yeah. Like I’m not I’m not rushing him out there. Yeah. And and and guys, by the way, other teams know this. Marian used to say the quiet part out loud. You especially in the playoffs, you try to hurt other guys. Not saying you, you know, go at them with your stick up high, but like you don’t think are going to finish up high on Charlie Makavoy when they hit him. Like come on. So it’s like you don’t want to put him out there and make it worse. December 4th. Like I’m fine with him and and I think it’s encouraging that he’s back out there. No question. Just taking reps and taking line rushes. Um but yeah, I mean I I think it’s just you’ve been bitten by it, especially on the back end. And like we talk about um at the beginning of the show about like Sherwood and trade rumors and stuff like I I’m at the point where like you have high-end prospects who are forwards who are you know Zeers, Hagens or LNO in there now. You have guys like Pelosi, Simpson down the line. Um, you don’t have much on D. So, like, if you’re gonna if you’re going to trade a draft pick and a prospect, you need defense. You look, it’s on D, man. It’s on D. And even in the draft, like I hope this year, you know, if they have a pick in the top 15, you better be drafting a defenseman if he’s the best available. This is going to sound crazy and people are going to probably hate me for this. I kind of hope they don’t get first overall because it’s definitely going to be Gavin McKinnon. I want them to be in that two spot where they’re forced to take Christian Airhov. Like that’s that’s like just take that kid. Like I don’t know what Matthew Schaefer’s doing in Long Island and he’s literally turned a franchise around. It’s crazy. I am watching their YouTube channel and watching all the fantastic videos. There’s no Lamarella now, so they’re like opening the curtains behind the island. They can have fun. Yeah, they can have fun and they can have facial hair. Um and I’m watching everything about this Matthew Schaeer kid and I’m just like, “Oh man, I wish the Bruins won the lottery last year.” like this kid is unreal. And the Bruins are a defense first team under Marco Sturm. He said at the beginning of the year, we’re going to win two hockey games. He he it’s funny when they have defensive laps. That’s when they get blown out and that’s when he opens the doors and lets them just go try and get goals. But they are a very tight team. Swayman is playing well because he is getting good defense in front of him. He is getting good looks. they’re not clogging up the middle so that he can actually see the puck and he can track the puck. Well, um Corposalo, I think they just got to be better on clearing out the rebounds for him. I think that’s his biggest issue. The Bruins biggest issue is letting a goal in on the first three shots. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please go follow Ty Anderson on Twitter. He has a I It’s called the doomsday list to me. It’s just like you can just see it. It’s more happens to Corpella than it does to Swayman, but I it’s happening to the Boston Bruins. I It’s happening to the team. teams just not happen to the goalies. Well, Tai always has like a bad list. Last year it was like the scoring after goals was it? Well, last year was the scoring the last the last three minutes last minute of the game. Yes, it was. Yeah. So, like there was Ty don’t follow him on Twitter actually. It’s very bad. There’s lots of bad things. Um No, but I I agree with you. It’s funny about Schaefer. like Schaefer missed most of last year and there were a lot of questions around the draft of people being like you know he’s he’s a great skater and he’s really good but like sure like it wasn’t a it wasn’t like Bard’s year or um even like Celabbrini where it was like oh that’s clearly number one like he he was more than likely but there were teams and scouts that were like I don’t know like maybe Misa now it’s like oh my god like Schaefer is unreal changing good like Olympic team good well that’s what I’m saying he is I I I as a team Canada guy I don’t think he makes the team but just being just having to do the piss test I think he’s happy he is now officially on piss test watch so he has to go pee every week and they got to test him to make sure we’ll talk about you know make sure they play in that really tiny rink that they’re possibly playing over heck they might not even play hockey which is crazy but I agree with you I think the Boston Bruins biggest need right now is defense. So, if they’re going to make any trades right now, it’s going to be for defense. And we we’ll talk about the fun one in the back end, but I think that is their issue right now because scoring hasn’t been like I wanted to talk about it. Morgan Geeki is on a having a career year. He is playing exactly what Sweeney and I can’t believe I’m gonna say this said he was going to be when they signed him. I remember when they signed him and I even like was reading articles and everybody kept saying Morgan Geeki the Bruins organization is saying we stole this guy. David Pastnac speaks so highly of him. It is crazy and Morgan Geeki is stepping up in Pastor’s absence. We don’t know what Pastor has. Demarco Sturm has continued this year to say everybody is dayto-day. I think that’s his favorite thing to say. I think there was rumors this summer that David Passnak was supposed to get surgery and I’m sure we all saw them because he said it in that Czech check newspaper or whatever it was. So, it got out there. He didn’t have it. So, my guess it is something to do with his groin. That is just this is just guesses because I looked at the play that everybody keeps showing all over Twitter. I just don’t see anything. It looks more like a tweak. It doesn’t look like he seriously hurt himself on that. just looks like he turned and it was like like he felt something. So, I’m very curious on when he’s going to be back. But, if you’re the Boston Bruins again, are you rushing him back? Because look what Morgan Geek is doing. Well, that’s the thing is like you think back to I I said this over the summer a thousand times and you and I talked about this. was like, “Well, you know, 33 goals fire, you know, if you can get 25 out of him, if you can get like 22 to 25 goals out of him every year, like that contract is gold.” McKinnon had two more. So, like McKinnon’s back in the league. McKinnon, by the way, is one of the best players in the world. They still only have one regulation loss, right, against the Boston Bruins, right? Bruins are the only real regulation win against them. But Morgan Geeky is this is why like he shoot his shooting percentage is crazy high and like I was seeing Jay Fresh on Twitter yesterday being like you know there’s no way this continues once everybody tells me in my comments over and over again that he can’t continue this but he keeps doing it. I don’t think he can but like I still think he’s going to get 30 goals easy. Yes. like it will. He’s not going to be number one and two all year, but his ability to find soft areas in the offensive zone, his ability to get open, his ability to find areas to either tip pucks or uh get behind defenses, sneak in. That’s why playing with Postnock is so great because so much of the emphasis is on PostnO that Geeki kind of gets to fly under the radar and now he’s not and he’s still producing. So to me, like I just think his hockey sense, his offensive awareness is so good. And yeah, he’s not going to have 20 goals in two months. You he’s not going to be at that pace the rest of the year, but he’s going to be productive because he can. And his shot is so good and it’s good from out high. And by the way, now goalies know it’s coming. Like goalies like the the book is out. Like it’s not like he’s a surprise player anymore. Team Canada has officially announced that he’s on the short list, but I don’t think he makes the team, but they’re considering him now. He’s peeing, too. He is officially on pew watch. Pisswatch. Like that’s and and and to me, like he deserves recognition for that. Like I don’t think he gets on the team because And by the way, he can play anywhere. He’s that kind of guy. Army knife, Swiss Army knife. And and props to him. I always say this with him like when it comes to player development and and guys trying to find routes into playing in the NHL you have to be able to do everything. I think that’s why the Bruins there have been like a blue Mel for instance like he can really only play in the top six. He’s in I don’t think he’s ever playing ever again for the Bruins. That’s the thing is like he in the time I saw him I was never super impressed. Whereas a guy like Alex Steves can come in and do anything and play any way and can just do a lot of things. And I think you you saw that start itself as a bottom six role and now he’s getting bumped up into the top six because they need a guy and he’s scoring and it’s like that’s that’s loves Steves. Like Steve’s Steve’s here to stay. He’s not going anywhere. No, he’s not. And like if you look like if you’re James Hagens, yes, you can jump right in and be a a a top six center, a top six wing. Yes. If you’re that kind of guy, but most guys aren’t. Morgan Geeki wasn’t. And Geeki came in played a bunch of years in the AHL. But like again, he came in played a bunch of years in the AHL and found his way as not as sort of a grinder. Can play any type of way. Can kill penalties, can take face offs. Like that was kind of how he and he made the most like in Seattle, he made the most of his time. Uh even though it was a small amount of time. So yeah, I mean what he’s been able to do has been impressive as hell. And I think that contract looks better and better. And even if again like he’ll cool down a little bit. Even if he cools down though, he’s he’s turned himself into a legit top six forward. And part of this core core like now we say like Makavoy, Postronox, Swayman, Hamplind, Morgan, Geeky, the key to the door like guys are added to that core and geek is the the main guy in my book. Well, it’s interesting because every for years we wanted Jake De Bruss to be what Morgan Geeki has become. Bingo. That was literally what it was. And I think they gave up on Jake De Bruss because you know uh they wanted Jake De Bruss to do a whole bunch of other things in the offseason. He didn’t want to do it. He got mad about it and he blamed it on his coach when all his coach is doing is being told what he’s told to do and he’s just telling you, “Hey, I need you to do this, this, and this.” And he didn’t want to do it. And he asked to be out. They got rid of the coach. And we learned it wasn’t the coach was the issue. He was the issue and he didn’t want to come back because if Jake de Brusk really wanted to be in the Boston, he would have still been here. And he didn’t because he didn’t want to play this system. And he’s proven that because he’s not playing well in Vancouver either. So, it is what it is. He’s he’s he’s getting goals every now and then, but he’s still not doing that. It’s funny. Jake De Brusk in the playoffs was what we get from working geeky in the regular season. Like that’s right. Yeah, he did everything. But for some reason the regular season he’s like, “Nah, I’m going to take a night off. I’m going to have fun. I’m going to go get Pokemon cards and that’s what I’m going to care about.” Well, you know what? Geeki is also more versatile. Like he can play center. He can play in the bottom six. And then you’re also paying him. He’s cheaper. So it’s like it ended up it ended up working. That was like Billy’s contract right now, right? Bill. Yeah. Literally. Like, and it’s funny because when he signed that deal, I mean, there were real talks last year, court, you know, you and I went through this where it was like, do you deal him at the deadline? Do you sell high on this guy and get a ton in return? Glad they didn’t. Yep. They didn’t. I mean, my god. So, he’s a player. He’s become um It’s interesting. I I think at the beginning of the year, it was like, oh, he’s going to be the sixman award. Well, you can’t give a top guy the sixman award. So, like I still joke it’s going to be Fraser Mitten because the fans that’s just the way they’re going to vote. It’s just is what it is. If if Trent Frederick can win the award, anybody can win the award. It’s the way I look at it. But, uh I it’s very interesting. Like I I’ll give it to that third line. They are fantastic. But Morgan Geeky has been the most consistent player on the Boston Bruins this year, bar none. The defense, unfortunately, they need Makavoy back. Him showing up, I think, is also going to lift them in this game against St. Louis. They’re playing their former coach. You’re all, you know, you know, there’s no gambling in hockey, but there’s money on the board tonight. Like 1,000% Marco Sturm is putting money on the board because he doesn’t want to lose to the former coach. You don’t want to do that. Um, Montgomery is like in possible jeopardy of losing his job in St. Louis. So, that’s hilarious at this point. But, Geeki has been he has solidified himself as a core piece in this Boston Bruins team. He is phenomenal, especially in the past absence. But I think Makavoy coming back at practice is going to give them a little bit of a jump start. They had Sodesttorm I guess lead the stretch today, but Makavoy I guarantee stepping on the ice. I would I wonder I’m going to watch the next couple behind the bees if they start focusing on Geeky. Like if you watch them, the Bruins always focus on certain players, right? They always this year it’s been Zidorov and Pastnack. That’s literally who they talk about. I want to see if the absence of Pastor Knack his Morgan Geeky stepped up his role because I know they put an A on Lynholm but I have noticed he says nothing but he talks a ton on the ice. So that’s totally different. Uh Hampus Lynholm also has an issue with getting penalties. It’s like him and Zidorov is like switch roles. Zidorov like I’m not going to get penalties anymore and Has Lynholm’s like don’t worry I got this. Lynov’s grabbing guys kind of grabbing them you know and it’s like they can see that you know. Yeah. I I don’t understand. Is is he lost a step that he’s starting to do this? That was my only thought with Hampus Lynhol. I’m like, has he lost a step? Is his injury to his leg not fully healed to what it should be and he’s lost a step so he’s now clutching and grabbing because he can’t catch up? It’s like it’s like in men’s league when faster guys are speeding past me and I’m like grabbing. I’m like, “Ah, not no nope.” You know, and it’s like that’s that’s a little bit of that. But I mean, he was great when he came first came back. It feels like though that’s cooled off a little bit. But Makavoy went out, right? That’s right. His minutes have gone up. Mason Lorai. We got Lorai playing with Sodestrom. It’s either going to be an unmitigated disaster or it’s going to be I think Lori has played fine. I Yeah, I’ve had no I’ve had really no zero issue. He’s actually been smarter with the puck. I’ve actually liked his his choices he’s made except in the Detroit game. He threw up a pizza, but every single player on that Bruins team I I swear to God on that defense core had a here you go pass. Like I was like I was laughing. And I was like, “What are they, Domino’s tonight? They’re just throwing up pizza after pizza after pizza.” But, you know, that’s the new Boston Bruins. But, um, as everybody loves, I I I want to talk about the Olympics real quick. There’s news that’s come out. The arena is not ready. And if the arena isn’t ready, the players are not going because there is no plan B. So, NHL players will not be going. It’s not to say that they will not have hockey at the at at the Olympics. The the NHL has said they will not be sending the players if they can’t get this up. Not only that, Peter Dbor went on um Real Kipper and Bourne in Toronto here and he said the rink is smaller than an NHL rink. Not even smaller than an Olympic size rink. Smaller than an NHL size. Yeah, exactly. Because to the people who don’t realize, an Olympic ring is actually rink is actually usually bigger than an NHL rink. They He’s saying it’s about four feet in total on each side. So about two feet on each side, too small. So for guys like Tom Wilson and Brad Marshian, they’re licking their chops. Like if Wilson makes the team, I still think you know Bernard and Celinrini in Canada, but I’m very curious. Do you because I know this is not Bruins because I think I think Swayman has earned his spot after playing what he did in the Worlds and how he’s played this year. He’s the third stringer. He’s not playing for Team USA, but he’s on that roster. David Passnack’s obviously on his roster. Elias Lynholm and Hampus Lynholm are on their roster, but I think that’s it. And Makavoy’s on his roster. I think that’s it for the Boston Bruins. Andrew Peak is I if not in he’s not making it in your book and heck Andrew Peak is getting traded at the deadline. I still I’m taking that one to the bank. He is getting moved and he’s he won’t be a Boston Bruin anymore. But what is your take on this? Do you think the players are going to the Olympics? I think they end up going like I and I haven’t followed this like super closely so and I haven’t like talked to anybody about this so this is truly just a complete speculation. I think they end up going, but it is crazy here at the 11th hour that this has popped up. They had years to figure this out. Like that is the craziest part. And I think this is scaring a lot of players. You guys like Marian um Crosby where this like might be their last harrah. It’s Marian’s. It’s Crosby’s last harrah for the Olympics. Yeah. And like Mar this is Marian’s first. It’s like you’ve been dying to do this for Let’s be honest here. Yes. Yes. For like a decade. And it’s like you you don’t get to be an Olympian. They they couldn’t get their crap together with the ice. Like that to me is the worst part of this. As a fan, I want to like I want to see them play. I want to see Olympic hockey. I want to see Canada and the US. I want to see all these countries compete. Like obviously. Um in terms of guys going, I agree with you on all of those. I’m very curious like does Spencer do you think Spencer Knight gets on that team USA? He’s been fantastic for Chicago. He’s been great. It’s I think it’s more um as long as Hellbuck’s back, it’s his team. And then I don’t think Odder has played cuz the way they unfortunately the way they do this is it’s almost like did you lose your spot? So, has Oer played bad enough to lose his his role? Spencer Knight has played phenomenal in Chicago for team that sucks. Spencer Knight and Connor. Like for the for the people that are Boston Bruins fans who are watching this right now or listening or whatever on your whatever podcast thing you’re listening on, go watch some highlights of the Chicago Blackhawks. One, Spencer Knight is unreal, but Connor Bard is ridiculous. He scored a goal the other night. Like he’s cutting across. People don’t realize most players have to get on their knees to get that shot off. He gets that shot off with like I don’t know like what did he use like half an arm and a little bit of his leg and he’s tearing it up into the top shelf. I guess it’s disgusting. that guy. It uh and it was like across his body the other all the way over at talking about the same over the goalie’s blocker and I tried to do it as a joke in my in my driveway and I’m like I don’t know how he did it. Well, even like I like slowed the video down. I was like wait a second like the goalie has that completely covered. Yeah, but Bard got it in a little sliver that wasn’t I mean his shot and I’m with you. The Blackhawks are a fun story. Blackhawks and the Sharks by the way. Great. And the and the Ducks. Watch all three of them. I do it all the time. Ducks are like legit contenders. Blackhawks and Sharks are going to fight for a playoff spot. And it what you talked about at the beginning of the show, the fact that younger players and we’ve seen this for a couple years now. McDavid came right into the league and and kind of put the Oilers on, but McDavid’s McDavid. the fact that you have Schaefer, Bard, Celebrian Smith, like so many the guys that the Ducks have coming in and making the impact that they have. Leo Carlson with the Ducks. Like it is so it’s incredible that and that’s why again like it hits like you need to make your picks. You need to draft. You need to let these prospects come up. Don’t be trading these guys for guys already in the league who are not moving the needle. So, back to the aren’t doing that anymore. They’re signing guys long term and the Bruins have two guys down in Providence that I don’t know. Um, if Fabian Lysel didn’t get called up in this last week and a half, is he getting called up? And Matthew Potra, I watched that guy get off the bus the other night. There’s a video. If you go to the Providence Bruins Twitter, go check out Matthew Potra getting off the bus. I have never seen a sadder man getting off a bus to go play in an old OHL rink that he played in before. He’s back in Canada and he couldn’t give a damn. He is not playing that well down in Providence right now. He looks like a guy that didn’t take not making the Bruins this year well and he is being asked to play a different game than he is. Matthew Potra is a water bug. He is a offensive offensively gifted player and I don’t think he fits with the Boston Bruins future plans and I think they might move him. Well, it’s interesting Court like you look at for year for a couple years like when he made the team in 23 24 was like this is Berseron 2.0 know and up until they started up until the Omar trade any prospect they had that was was like number one or two in their system got overhyped because there wasn’t a lot there like Jack I go back to Jack Sadika like Jack Snea at the time it was like oh this is like their next center and it was just like you know it was like you the you know there wasn’t a lot around you so it’s like you just looked better well now they’ve made all these picks now they’ve traded for prospects now Fraser Mittens come in and that old I don’t want to say old guard because they’re young kids but like Lysel and Mirculof and throw Patra in there Murcul what got eight minutes he’s done it yeah like nothing and even by the way you traded not traded you signed Steves you signed Bluml like you went in and basically got essentially Lysels from someone else yeah replacements so it’s like I just think they’re phasing that out I don’t I’m with you court I don’t know if there’s a future plan for him and maybe he turns it found in Providence. Maybe somehow there is, but it doesn’t look likely right now. Like that’s the part where it’s like I don’t like you look like you have Mitten. And by the way, like at Quinnipiac, you got Chris Pelosi who’s been doing really well down the middle. You have Hagen’s coming. You have LNO who might be a center or a wing. And by the way, Hagen’s also could be a center wing. You have more. Do you think it was the Bruins that put him on as Boston College to put him on the wing? No, I think BC BC did it. It was BC. BC did it from my understanding because they wanted a new look. They were struggling offensively and they wanted a new look. And I think it kind of frees him up a little bit, takes a little bit off his plate, lets him sort of do his thing. I would I would Yes. I would rather see him at center. And he has, by the way, like a lot he There have been a lot of shifts he has played. Yeah, I see. I’ve been watching games. He goes, Exactly. Like he’s not listed as it, but like he does play a little bit of it. He plays a good amount of it. Um, but that’s the thing like you have Will Moore, Hagens, LNO, Pelosi, uh, Mitten now where it’s like you have all these guys down the middle and they’re playing they’re projecting higher than him. Mint is projecting higher than 3C now. I he’s not 1C. We’ll get that out of your head. He’s a possible 2C. Still a 3C, but possible 2C. That’s the thing. And so like is Patra trade bait? Like at this at this point? Like that’s my thing. And I I you know, we talk about making trades and and and look, I I think there are going to be teams that look at Potra and say like there’s value there. Like he’s not in he’s not like his value is not zero. No, he he’s got value. If Mikov out in Anaheim wasn’t a left like he’s not a right shot guy. So unfortunately like the Bruins need someone on the right side. So, it’s it’s unfortunate, but like I would be like, “Hey, you’ve got a guy that you’re not playing over in Anaheim because Jackson Lome has become a stud and Mikov is no longer he’s he’s rated really high. He’s a good defenseman, but there’s no spot for him now. Anaheim’s a fast a high octane team. Matthew Potra, I think, would like just melt like unbelievable there. I think Matthew Potra to me reminds me, not just situational wise, not hockey player-wise, of Frank Vanrano. Patreno came into the Boston Bruins and unfortunately their top six was just full. They tried him. They tried him. They tried him and they just he just didn’t they couldn’t put him in their top six. He didn’t stick. He couldn’t stick. But great goal scorer and he’s done a phenomenal career and he is one that got away but he isn’t really when you go to the whole scheme of things because that that group of Boston Bruins where was Frank Matrono fitting in? Frank and I think Matthew Potcher’s there. I think Matthew Potcher is an NHL player. It’s just unfortunate. I completely agree with you on that. I just don’t think he can play the wing. He needs to play center. And on the Boston Bruins, I don’t know where he goes because Pavle Zaka is a better centerman than him. Um, Elias Linholm is a better centerman than him and Fraser Mintton is a better centerman than him. Husadino has proved to be more serviceable because Husadino can play both sides of the puck. Potra’s problem is he can’t play the defensive side of the puck as well. He can still do it, but he can’t play it as well. Fraser Minton can play it better and Husadino can play it better. And I say even Husadino has taken over. If you look on the depth chart, he’s just got moved down the row. Fraser Minton took his spot. They don’t have Fraser Minton. There’s still a spot for Matthew Potra. But unfortunately now, and it sucks because I think he’s good enough, but I think the Bruins can get something for him. But I truly believe they’re not shopping him, but he is not long for the Boston Bruins. and Lysel, if the Bruins don’t give him a shot before Christmas, I don’t know what to say at this point, especially when you have a guy like David Passac not playing. Uh the thing with Lysel, it’s like I was saying this on the other day on Bruinsby, like if you’re going to trade Lysel right now and if you’re going to keep Lysel, you play him right now. Like because if you’re gonna if you’re going to trade him, you want to showcase him a little bit because by the way, his value’s gone a little is not playing great in Providence. He’s playing great. He’s putting up numbers. So, like he’s producing, he’s scoring. Um, he’s another guy that looks miserable in every photo they take. That’s right. So, like he’s another where I like I just want to see him. Just give me give me give him give him a little runway up here. Um, but again, like Arbitson’s back now. So, like but there was the opportunity and they called up Murcul and we all know it shouldn’t have been him. Yes. Ag completely agree because Sturm obviously like first shift Marco Sturm didn’t want him on the team anymore. That was hilarious. He rolled his eyes after Merculov’s very first shift. And I was like, well, and he gave him one more chance and he never got back out there. Well, this is why you have a new head coach. These aren’t his guys. They are not his guys. That matters. It’s like going to a company, you work somewhere, you take over, you have a new boss. That’s not You’re not your boss’s guy. Like, they’re not a Storm guy. That’s why he’s here. Arvitzson’s a Sterm guy. And I think even like Fraser Mitten came in around the same end of last season. I’m not talking about Fraser Mitt. He loves him. loves Fraser Mitten. And by the way, Fraser Mitten is worthy of that praise. He’s been good and he plays that kind of game. But Matt Potra is not a is not a Sterm guy. And he, you know, he used to work his way into being. What did he call him in the preseason? A passenger. He did. Yeah. I think he did. So he said he was day to day. Yeah. Was dayto day. That’s why he’s been out so long. Day to day. So that sucks. So I think if the Bruins are going to make a trade, I’m 100% agreeing with you. I don’t think it’s four for four forwards. Yeah, they can be in on Sherwood all they want, but I just I think these next four games will decide whether the Bruins because it’s it’s getting I know people don’t realize, but it’s getting closer. Like that Christmas break, some trades will happen before Christmas. Um but not as many trades in the NHL will happen as as we think. I think either trades happen before Christmas, some teams will try and sneak in, but I think sounds like teams are asking for way too much right now. uh or right before the Olympic break in March. Uh and then or I mean yeah the Olympic break in February. Sorry, not March. February. Oh Jesus. March is the trade deadline. I think that’s the next time you’re going to see trades. I just don’t see I keep hearing the Boston Bruins, but I feel like it’s coming out of Vancouver and it’s not coming out of B. Well, I know it’s not coming out of Boston because they do not for people that want to know this for for I’m not in Boston, but for the reporters in Boston know this. Rumors do not come from the Boston Bruins organization. No, there aren’t leaks. They’re not a leak. They come from other teams and other scouts from other organizations who then tell people that are in Boston. I can tell you there is nothing. Like I can attest. I I know. Here’s the thing though. Like I think it’s coming out of Vancouver if I had to guess. Yeah. Trying to raise the price. Trying to raise the price. And they’re try again. I forget who we were talking about. Was someone with deals. I don’t remember who it was. Um but I was like someone’s leaking. It might have been the Bruins trying to trade someone. This was fairly recent. I don’t remember who it was, but it was like they you’re trying to raise the price and you’re trying to get other teams to say, “Oh, we’ve got to jump in there. Oh, that team’s calling. We’ve got to call, too.” Like that’s the whole they’re trying to play the game. But yeah, I think when it comes to um Vancouver and what Vancouver is doing, I don’t think the Bruins are like, “Yeah, we’re call we’re calling Connor Garland and and then they’re asking for this like I don’t think I don’t think Sweeney or anyone’s leaking that.” Yeah. Unless Fluto is writing an article about it, people. And there’s a little secret to everybody. When Fluto Shinszawa puts an article about a player possibly on the move, he’s possibly on the move because that’s where that is definitely coming from. It’s definitely Boston Bruins. But I want to have some fun because we just talked about Vancouver. I have had um people in my Discord, uh people in my comment section on on YouTube, these this is beyond hypothetical people. I really want to stress this. There is no rumor pointing at this player becoming a Boston Bruin, but why not have fun? Because another analyst just said it the other day and he was talking out of he just said that right now the New Jersey Devils can’t really do it. The Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins, he said, are the only ones poised to do it. But he thought if anybody’s going to do it, why shouldn’t it be the Red Wings? But Evan, I’m I’m going to ask you, what would it cost the Boston Bruins to acquire Quinn Hughes? Because he is not staying in Vancouver. That is that marriage is done. Well, that’s the thing, and that’s kind of what knocks the price down a little bit that you kind of have going for you is that he isn’t staying, and they know that. So, it’s like I I don’t know if it would be quite what I think, but I, you know, it would be such a high price. It’s kind of unprecedented. Like I I I I I do think this is a little bit unprecedented. So I looked it up. Well, we have Miko Ranton who went last year, so it’s not that unprecedented, but Hughes is like a top three defenseman in the NHL. Like this is a Yeah, he say Miko Ranton is a a top 15 player in the league. No, no. Yes, for sure. And like again, like Hughes has a 7.85 million AV this year and next year. So you’re getting he’s going to get 13 to 14 when he signs this new deal. Yes. Going to get a huge ass contract. what it would take like Vancouver’s obviously going to ask for Hagens. Yep. They’re obviously going to ask for a first. I’d assume they ask for Lori. Like I see I was thinking I was thinking two firsts. Okay. So two and low is the package and that’s a lot. A lot man. I don’t know if I’m doing that. And I would still think that Vancouver has to throw in like a third rounder and Boston has to throw some salary back the other way so they can make it all work because people don’t realize Boston still has to move salary here to make this work. You can’t just throw low in the deal. You have to throw more back. They’re almost up to the cap. I wonder if it was this year would you throw like an Arbson in there? I don’t think if you’re Vancouver, why would you take him? If you’re Vancouver, you’re going to ask for Mark Castelick. You’re going to ask for Lori Castillic and maybe you knock down one of those first into a second. You’re going to ask for this year’s first unprotected, not the Toronto Maple Leafs first. You’re going to ask for this year’s first unprotected. You’re going to ask for Hagens, but I think you can get away with not I would I was going to say Hagens is the one piece of that that I think I think if you give him this year’s first unprotected, and this is all hypothetical, people um I don’t want to be quoted on any of this. If you gave him this year’s first unprotected and you could take out Hagens, you probably would have to throw in someone like Dean Laterno or and we’re we’re raising him high, you might have to you’d have to pick another prospect that other people like probably Zeers, not Laterno. It would probably because I don’t think we think high of LNO. I don’t think his stock has raised that much. I think he’s had a very successful when I talk to people around the league. Latero is they still have that same view of Laterno. I think Zeers has more of a cache and more of a he more of a a ceiling height uh projection about him. He’s even higher in the hockey news uh like for for rookies. So I think Zeers unprotected first Mason Lai Mark Castle. I still don’t think that’s a package that gets it done. Like I don’t think I look at it and I’m like what can the Burns even do? They’d have to overpay so hard to get this guy. And here’s the other worry too, Court. What What if he still wants to end up in New Jersey? Because he does that. It’s not a worry. I I worry I worry about that where it’s like if I’m giving up two firsts and a prospect I really like who looks like a potential top six winger down the road who can score. Um, and you know, Cassick and Lorai are are put in there as well, like That’s you’re a little worried about that. And Quinn Hughes, by the way, is phenomenal. Like Quinn Hughes would command a decor with Hughes and Makavoy and Zidorov like you’re if you’re Vancouver, you asked for Makavoy. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Franchise guy for franchise guy. I’d rather have I’d rather have Makavoy like in that package. In that package, obviously. Um and I also think Makavoy is a little built for the playoffs. Like I think he wasn’t built for he wasn’t Four Nations. He didn’t play But in the playoffs, Quinn Hughes um he’s invisible. I just think Mako’s physicality like that’s what you want come the playoffs. Boston Bruins system. Yes. For how they play. He was again like Hugh is going to put up 70 points. Like Hughes is Yes. But he could become Larry Murphy. So I use Larry Murphy as an example all the time because Larry Murphy became a Toronto Maple Leaf at one point and the Leaf fans hated him. He went to Detroit and he won three more cups and the Red Wings fans loved him because he’s all offense. Quinn Hughes is all offense. Yes, Boston Bruins fans, that’s not a Bruin. They would lose their minds on this guy. Like Lane Hudson, as much as everybody’s like, “Oh, I’d love to have Lane Hudson.” People would eat him alive in Boston. Oh, this town would eat him. Like that’s the thing. And and I like Lane Hudson a lot, too. Um but that’s So it’s a fun hypothetical. Like obviously I don’t think it happens but they’re they’re definitely asking for Hagens. Like no question. And then I’m curious like what other teams could give. And but the other thing Court too is like a lot of times these trades come in and I’m like huh I think Detroit could pull it off. They have enough on that back end to send a serviceable piece like a top four defenseman. They can send one back. They can keep cider and still send someone back. Yeah. Yeah. I also think some of these deals I just said like some of them end up less than I thought. It’s like, “Oh, that wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.” Quinn Hughes, though, is it’s different. That’s like Nico Ranton and you’re getting something from him. You are. You are. So, it would be fun. And you know what though, the other thing, too, is like a couple years ago would be like, “Oh, yeah, the Bruins could never pull this off. They don’t have the prospects. They don’t have the picks.” They’re in a position now where like they get to be in these talks and you get to have these conversations where it’s like, “Oh, that’s a real core piece. That’s a legendary player.” And the Bruins could be in on that because they have the prospects. Because they have the pieces. Last year’s team, if this was last year, they would not have the pieces to do this. Now they do. And that’s thanks to that deadline selloff last year. I’ll give him that. You know what? People give Matt Sweeney all you want. He looked like a genius last year at the deadline. Everything has worked out. Heck, you could do the trade tree on the Brandon Carlo being a Boston Bruin. Go down that trade tree of that draft in 2016. Ended up taking Brandon Carlo because the pick they got to get Carlo. Keep going. That’s the pick. That’s the trade that keeps on giving. Um, but I want to thank you for joining me today, Evan. I’ve had a blast. If you want to plug whatever you want, plug away. Uh, not much. I mean, just listen to Bruins beat. Keep listening to Bruins die hards with court obviously, as you all do and you do. And, um, doing a hockey journal, doing stuff over there. If you’re interested in top prospects in New England, prop hockey, all that. Make sure to come subscribe. And yeah, it’s a busy time of year, court, but it’s fun. This is this is what we live for. I love this. I always say like if we covered baseball or if we if if we if we did like baseball pods but during the summer it’s nice out I know. I know you’re popping right now. I don’t know if I see them getting back there though. I must say we got Tucker at in Dutton right now. I know. I know. But so my own thing is like it’s the winter. What else is there to do? This is what it is. We get Tucker. I’m sorry. Sorry Red Sox fans. You can get Kyle Schwarber all you want but sorry. I’m gonna come back. But I’m just saying hockey in general. Like I’m playing hockey tomorrow and I’m all excited. 8:30 tomorrow morning I am on the ice for two hours. I had a game this morning for it. That’s why I’m all energized up. I was I was on the ice at 7. So yeah. No, it’s that time of year. But yeah, Bruins beat me doing the hockey drill. As you know, Bruins die hards. Click like, subscribe. Thank you for being here. I appreciate every single one of you in the comments. You guys are phenomenal. The community is honestly it’s it’s some of the most great conversations I have. I barely talk on Twitter because I’m pretty much talking on YouTube all the time. So, I appreciate every one of you and uh I’ll see you next time.

Fun Questions: What would it cost for the bruins to get Quinn Hughes?
You two guys are my favorite talking heads for bruins content
They need top 4 D
Evan needs to up his audio game
Court w his fancy smansky Elgato mic LOL haahhahaaaaa jk jk
Evan Court Connor Ty and low qual you guys rock.
Not having Lysell up and poitras is inexcusable
This team would have had 3 more cups since 2011 if they had management that wasn't completely mentally challenged
Wait, Mac is back?
I've injured my groin. That sharp twinge fades slowly over months. Even a couple of years later you might "tweek" it. Tough injury.
Backavoy
Great show ty..
Great content 👍
Clearly some prospects, Potsy, Fabian, are being treated as assets, not Bruins players.
Minten changed the landscape.
I don't wanna talk goalies anymore 🫤
It's like groundhog Day.
other than DePietro being traded & Zacejik bumped up in Providence.
Enjoying these podcasts – they're likely unexpected, no one anticipated this type of season. How much to talk about
Likely there's not going to be much in the way of trades right now, but it's nice to have the assets to be in the conversation for once
The success of most Atlantic teams will depend on the health and the rest of the division.
Its anybody's game, on any given night, in the East.
🤕
The gamblers must be getting pissed!
I agree Swaymen wasn't good on Tuesday, but it wasn't all him. The team defense was dog crap in front of him
I think you'd be surprised if you gave Minten a shot at 1C.
Court and Evan…. what a team!
The Bruins are lucky so far this year. If you look up and down the standings, there is only 10 points between first and last in their conference. No team is running away as of the first quarter of the season. Quinn Hughes is only going to be around until his contract is up, and he is going to join his brother in NJ.
If I took a puck to the face at 93 mph, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be back on the ice for another year. I have a tough time figuring out how the Bruins could get Hughes as the cost would be astronomical (and rightfully so). I can't see the Bruins having the pieces to match anywhere in the system (I don't think both Merkulov and Lysell + picks moves the needle enough). But man would I love to see Quinn Hughes wearing the spoked B.
Geekie should have signed a bridge contract, then after a 40 goal season could got the big dollars. T think Keekie is going to hit between 40 – 50 goals this year.
…still need a captain
They should have replaced sway after the 2nd intermission. Korp came in and was a stud and sway gave up that 5th goal which ended up being t the winner
Thank you Court, love having Evan on with you- great Bruins content!
I really hope we don’t trade for Hughes just to watch him go to jersey in 2 years
Trade him for a legit scorer.
Great show!
Small correction, but at the beginning, you say that Jeannot is the "older version" of Sherwood, but Sherwood (who's 30 years old) is actually older than Jeannot (who is 28 years old)
