Dream Trades for the New York Yankees This Offseason
Today is December 4th and we are listening to what you have to say. Let’s talk Yanks. How’s love Jerry Springer? That had a hint of Jerryoske. Wa. Welcome to Talking Yanks. What’s going on, man? Joe’s McFly here. I’m joined here by John Boy O’Brien and Jake Story Alley and BBD in the corner and you guys are listening there. Welcome to the episode where we talk about people. And this is presented to you by SeatGeek. Got them. And you could use code Yanks 2025 for 10% off your next set of tickets at SeatGeek. That’s 10% off any tickets or promo code Yanks 2025. Um, text your buddies that you know ended the episode as soon as Joe’s did the intro and say it didn’t last that long and they can come back. And thanks to Segeek. What? Uh, I’m also throwing a gauntlet your way right away. Joe’s. I threw him off his game. You seen him, right? Joe’s one, two, three, four, five, six, seven different people started multiple games at shortstop for the Yankees in 2013. Hey, stop it. If you can name five of the seven, I’ll give you all the cash in my wallet right now. In what? In 2013, let me know if you want to do it. 2013. 2013. In 20 minutes, let me know if you want to do it. Jake, how are you? Yes, I’ll do it. James, Joe’s Davis, uh Brian Cashman is gonna be on the episode. That’s a lie. Lie. That was a lie. But Joe’s is here. Yeah, but Joe’s is here. Uh and we’re going to yuck some Yanks. It’s that kind of Dude, stuff’s going to start happening. Winter meetings in a week there’s going I’m supposed to be there. That’s a lie. It’s all in a week there’s in a week there’s going to be a new important person on the Yankees. They do like to make their move at the meetings of winter usually. Okay. We’re listening to voicemails. First voicemail. It is. We are listening to voicemails. Reminder, it was the prompt was send us your dream trade target and why you think it’s possible. Brought to you by Segeek. Hey, what’s up guys? Big fan of the channel. Been watching for years. Um, so the dream Yankees trade target has to be Steven Quan in my opinion. You know, he still has two years uh until he’s free agent and the Guardians need power and obviously, you know, we need contact hitting. You know, um we struggled in the playoffs with that and you know, they’re obviously not going to sign him to a long-term deal in Cleveland. So, you know, I feel like we saw how great he was on the field and with the bat during last year’s ALCS. And, you know, the Yankees haven’t had a really great contact hitter since DJ LaMahu in 2019 and 2020. So, it would be really great to have someone like him on the squad. Um, I’m not sure who we would give up, but I know that you guys said that you would want him, too. So, for me, that’s honestly my dream trade target for this season opposed to signing free agents. So, yeah, it’s great. Big fan of the channel. Love you guys. And go Yanks. Let’s go. Let’s go. I love you, too. I haven’t looked into Stephven Quantra since the first time I did where I just read one article and I was like, “Oh, I I was like the Napoleon Dynamite scene. I want I want that.” Uh, you get him for this year and next year, right? Yeah. So, a two-year deal, you’d have an everyday leadoff hitter. I like that. And an everyday left fielder. Positive. Like those two things are great. Obviously, doesn’t trick out. Yeah. This is dream scenario episode. Uh, I like that. When’s the last time, Bes? Can you look up? When’s the last time the Yankees traded with uh Guardians? I mean, Andrew Miller, but that was a long time ago. It was a long time. I think it was Andrew Miller. was a young man and they were giving players. Like, have the Indians Guardians ever given the Yankees players? Oh. Um, I feel like there might be one more in there. Um, they’ve traded players to other teams. I know. I know. Just I don’t know. There’s a pipeline. You in on how many teams do we have a pipeline with right now? A lot. There was a article like a couple years ago that showed every team he’s traded with and it was it was there was one team that he hadn’t that the Yankees hadn’t traded with in a while and it was the Nationals. It was it was uh the Tigers were the Tigers the longest and it was like a fiveyear drought. It was like very short drought. Yeah. But yeah, Yankees have sneaky traded with like every team. Yeah, there weren’t there weren’t a lot of teams that there weren’t at least small moves. I’m looking them up. Let’s see. Most recent trade between Yankees and Guardians was 2023. So, it’s been a little Estavon Floral and a roster cleanup move. Cameron Maben trade before that. Yeah, it’s kind of been a little bit since they really traded. It’s time. What would the Guardians want, Jake? Uh, they would want a group of young players. Uh, Spencer Jones or Dominguez is probably in play. They also could not be because there’s an interesting thing with Steven Quan because there’s two different Steven Kans here. There’s the four straight time gold glove winner. He can’t deny that. Like guy’s a center fielder. Cleveland put him in left field and he’s mastered the position. Um if you looked at Stephven Quan’s offensive numbers and you knew nothing about the player last year he was 272 330 a 705 OPS. So that’s the thing. Cleveland right now. This is where Cleveland gets interesting is because they have Steven Quan for two years. I think he’s going to make like 8 mil this year and then 10 mil the next year or something like that. So, A, you cure left field. B, you cure the leadoff spot. Three, the value. He was looking He was looking at the 2013. He was looking decent amount of cash in my wallet. You blew it. No, I didn’t blow it. I didn’t even look at the list yet. that you could probably get Steven Quan for one of those MLB price tags that we like when the trade happens it pops up and we’re like, “Oh, we traded nothing.” That that could be a nice feeling and it would cure lead off, but it would put us in an interesting position cuz where’s the rest of the lineup? Well, cuz then is belly out the No, it’s a trade, not a signing. So, you can do the trade and a signing. Okay, then who’s your outfield? Because we have Trent Gisham and Judge. Trent Gisham gets traded. How? You can’t you got to wait until June to trade him. Yeah, I know. I don’t know. That’s what I’m saying. Then the Yankees don’t have a three hitter. They don’t have like a five hitter. Like I don’t know. Even though his OPS is low, his on base percentage and his batting average like it does. He does bring a positive flavor to the lineup skill set. His career numbers are 281 351 which in front of Judge would be great. and just his at bats and not striking out. Lowest whiff rate in baseball. He would check the cashman box of like, oh, I want to put, you know, the lineup, make it a little bit more dynamic and make it, you know, less strikeouts. And if they don’t get Belly nor Tucker, right? If they miss out on both those guys in free agency, do you think they go storming uh the Cleveland Castle to get a left fielder and a leadoff hitter? Like like I I think Belly’s number one, Tucker’s number two because they you like to your point, they can’t happen. You can’t get Quan and then one of those guys with Trent. So do you think this is like a Hey, what’s up guys? Shake that tree fall back. I think it’s in play for a lot of teams. And I guess that’s the I guess that’s the other part where I haven’t gotten myself excited is that like I I heard someone say like the Mariners would be a great Quan landing spot. I was the Dodgers would be a great Quan landing spot. that dude. He’s a really good baseball player that it’s kind of one of those dumb equations where his trade value number still doesn’t line up with real baseball cuz you get two years of a gold glove corner outfielder who doesn’t strike out. Worst case. Yeah. And like his year before that was really good. Yeah. It was the wind tunnel year in Cleveland though. Okay. I like him a lot. I like him a lot. His pull his freay chart is so Yankee Stadium. Do you see it? What’s his middle name if you like him so much? Uh, Quan. Wow. Robert. Stephen Quan. Quan. Robert. Robert. Um, yeah. I mean, his spray chart looks like a Yankee Stadium kind of spray chart, but he like in terms of poolside. I’m fine with Quan, but then you need another bopper. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. So, I don’t know. This note about him says he enjoys dodgeball, whiffle ball, and snowboarding in his spare time. So, sounds like Joe’s. We talked to him and bliss ball. We talked to him a couple times briefly. Uh he’s a little quirky. Like you kind of think the way he plays baseball, he’s got one of those like calm, cool, composed personality. He’s like, “No, he’s kind of like a jitter.” Yeah. He’s like, “Oh, oh, should we put Blitz ball in the warehouse?” “Yeah, that’d be a good time.” So, like I get along with him. You get along with pretty much everyone. And that’s what I wanted you to say. Okay. Well, he has both Chinese and Japanese roots, it says. Uh, we did get some feedback. You said Kyle Tucker had a dad of African-American descent last episode. You did. I spoke the words. I was reading them off of Be kind of careful with that. It was No, it was MLB player profile website. Kyle Tucker. I don’t think it’s true. I don’t think according to the comments, right? But according to the MLB player profile website, I was reading just bullet points, right? No, I don’t know about that. I don’t know about that one right there. I tried to Google it and it doesn’t find it. I mean, Google found it right away for me. It’s his dad’s a white guy named Mike Tucker. No, I seen that, but I just I I Googled this and it didn’t show up. Yeah. If you Google with question marks, you’re living in 2002. I don’t need to puncture Jim. It’s the majority of the table you’re sitting at. It’s true. Some of the worst Googlers in the world. Ask Jeieves.com. Kyle Tucker question. Next. Next on the table. Talking Yanks crew. Uh, this is Justin from Connecticut. Let’s connect. Heard you guys were looking for some trade ideas, so I’ll make it quick and snappy. I think something under the radar could be the Yankees trying to push for another starter, and that could be Joe Ryan. I think it makes sense because uh he’s only making $6 million this year, 29 years old. Uh he’ll be 30 in June. And to be honest, I think you could package a Luis Heel, Dominguez or Jones type, and then if they really needed it, uh you could give him a a Cunningham or a Ben Hess. Um so yeah, I think it works out. keeps uh Hal uh gives him the ability to be stingy with the money, but also gives us control for Ryan for another two years of arbitration till he’s 32. Um and I think that would just be nice to slot him in until all of our rotation gets healthy. Uh so yeah, that’s it. Love you guys. Have a good one. Bye. Said Ben Hes for I think it’ll I might cost more than that to get Joe Ryan. I mean, you need to give them one of your top prospects. Uh, at least minimum two. I think Spencer Jones is in that package if you want to get Joe Ryan. Yeah. Um, and I would say yes, by the way. Yes. Yes. I would say yes to that. Uh, I love Joe Ryan. You You got really sad when he almost went to the Red Sox. I mean, alleged well alleged wins the rest, but I I’m glad that he did not because now this is true. This is Well, this isn’t true. Well, it’s it’s true that we can think about it now. No. What the [ __ ] So, that was your reaction. Are you [ __ ] kidding me, man? Joe Ryan is a [ __ ] Red Sox. Wow. The What was the title of that YouTube video if people want to search it at home? Yankees fan falls for false Joe Ryan News. Wow. That was posted by Talking Yanks. Oh, okay. Thanks. Of course. So, they set an extremely high price on Joe Ryan at the deadline where the Twins traded away 75% of the people they know and they didn’t trade him because no one matched it. So, what do you think the price is now? Probably still the same. Same. Should be. Yeah. Would you price? He’s 27. 29. And how many years does he have remaining? Two, I believe. They should trade him. Yeah. Yeah. No, I think I think Joe Ryan, the two names that have been popping up for me a lot for the Yankees that make the most sense are Joe Ryan and Edward Cabrera. Edward Cabrera has three years of control. Joe Ryan has two. The Yankees can save money pitching wise there. And maybe two prospects. Yankees like maybe one. Joe Ryan baseball and prospects is ridiculous. Yeah, it’s a weird currency. What about McKenzie Gore? He’s in the same box. There’s talk about him today. Yeah. You like Mackenzie Gore? He probably has the highest price tag. Yeah, he’s got it two years as well. Till he’s a fragrant. Uh, okay. Go get Joe Ryan. When’s the last time they traded with the Twins? I’ll find out. Where did we get Bader from? Cardinals, right? Then he went to the Twins after. Hicks is the first one that comes in. that there’s got to be more recent ones. Uh looks like the Josh Donaldson uh the one that I blocked out the Josh IKF Ben Wford which we were all on the trade review episode of that and it’s one of the most beloved most beloved ones. Jake took like a 50 milligram gummy really early before that. That is the last one. Uh 2019 minor trade. Lance Lynn was the biggest trade before that one. Oh boy. That’s where we got him from. Uh-huh. Yeah. Cool. Lancel. Well, they traded for him and he made like two starts and then they flipped him. They thought that was Haime Garcia. Oh, that was H Garcia the year before. Yes. Lance was like a late spring training signing. So, he started the year late. Also like barely played for them. If if you are really looking to scratch an itch and it’s now being cir I have an itch. I usually am. It’s being circulated as a real rumor. It’s from an ESPN article, but Joe Ryan and their right-handed hitting catcher Mitch Garver. Oh, I had Jeff. Excuse me. Yes. Yes. Do you think Joe Ryan he doesn’t look New York? If I was to do like Bill Cody Bellinger like commentary. That’s a fair No. Cody Bellinger has never tried to look anything. He’s never tried to look anything. What? Joe Ryan spends a lot of time looking in the mirror. I’m not I’m not knocking him for it, but Joe Ryan is like he saw Stranger Things and was like, I want to be that dude and then complete Yeah. season two of Stranger Things, the the the older brother who’s a badass. Season two BBD. If you go to his baseball reference, it has a Joe Ryan the I think you’re going to believe Joe Ryan’s been on the Twins. Yeah. Come on. Look at Joe Ryan has a minor league picture and a major league picture. His major league picture reeks Yankees. It does. Yeah. Yes. No, it doesn’t even look like that really anymore. Look. Well, that’s not what he looks like anymore. That’s That’s Yankees. That’s That’s Garrett Cole. Cole Hams. Exactly. Look at that. Look at You know, Garrett Cole with the beard and the long the minor league picture is Naylor. That’s a minor league picture. That’s where you want Josh. Yeah. Yeah. But that’s what he looks like now. He looks more like his minor league picture now. He let the hair out. He’s been in Minnesota. He’s got the mustache, the hair. He like he looks like a dodger. He cleans up real nice. We’ve seen him. I like He’s really good. He hides the ball well. Invisible. He’s got the Max Freed Rando Bloom mustache goatee thing. Really laidback California guy. Was he the Rays trade him to the Twins? Yeah, I believe for Nelson Cruz. Rays. Oh, he had a baby recently. And new dad. That’s awesome. And Trevor Poof mentors him. So yeah, why don’t you pump the brakes on? Yeah. Wait, I wasn’t saying anything bad about him. I was saying he looks more Dodgers Hollywood. He does not questioned his look for New York. We’ll get him away from Trevor Plof. Get the twins off of him. Thank you. I mean, his Instagram Trevor Plof does mentor him. Very LA. Yes. He is a If you took Cole Tucker and Trevor Plof and smashed together. Yeah. That’s what his Instagram gives off. Yes. And that’s fine. He could be a Yankee like that. Like look at this one. That’s That’s funny. That’s Kot Tuck. Yeah. That’s a dude. And we like that. Is that sunscreen? Sunscreen. You’re not That’s safe. It’s safe. So he’s a safe person. Why are we selling Jimmy? I think I’m in on it. I think we’re I think I think we’re going pro where I’ve currently mentally landed is prospects for cost controlled pitcher cheap and then we’re paying for an outfielder. Can you sign it? Thanks. Okay, now you don’t now. Oh, I believe we’re around 20 minutes in. Do you want to bet the five? Did you really? I don’t think you actually cheated. I haven’t looked at the full list yet. I was going to start. He talked about cheating. He showed me that he brought it up. At this point, you decide if you want to do it or not. I mean, I want 20 minutes. I want to do it. We do it. I want to do it. 20 more minutes of thinking. You’re going to give him 20 minutes to cheat again. You’re out of your mind. Yeah. Thank you. That’s good. Don’t cheat. No. Okay. Do it now then. Cheat now. How many How many can you name? Started multiple games for the Yankees in 2013. You have to name five to get all the money in my wallet. How much money do you have? All the cash in my wallet. No, I want all the money in the bank. No. No. Okay. What? All right. Well, um, Derek Jeter was hurt that year. No. Was that 2013? Fishing. That was 2013, correct? He said Yeah. So, this is You were going to say something. He was going to say something. It’s over. Nunes. Nunes is one. I mean, is that your first official guess? Nunes. That’s the first guess. And we’ll continue on. Let’s do another one. Let’s do another one. That’s fair. That’s one. That’s good. This is crazy. What’s going on, guys? Um, my name is Brian Roberts. I’m calling from New York City. Um, so my dream trade target would be Brandon Donovan. Pretty simple. Plays excellent defense, contact hitter, something we’ve been lacking. Um, he can lead off. He can bat in the middle of the order. He could also play all over the infield. It also wouldn’t take too much to acquire him. St. Louis is looking for young pitching. That’s something we have a ton of. Love you guys. Keep doing what you do. Bye. Great job. Like him has a swing for Yankee Stadium too as I see here. Um infielder. Does he can he play other positions other than second though? That’s was going to be my question. He’s played I believe substantial time still pretty recently at second, third, and left field. Okay. Yankee Stadium left field is obviously a bit unique, but So you do this, you’re trading Jazz, correct? Is that what you’re doing? Yeah. I mean, but I don’t want to trade jazz. I don’t want to trade jazz either. I’ve seen people saying like jazz trade ideas. I think it’s nothing’s happening. People are Jim. I am. I don’t want to trade jazz. I don’t want to. We need to fix things, not remove things. Agree. But if part of fixing it is removing, I’m open to that. But I’m It needs to make sense. And I need to get better everywhere. Jazz isn’t the problem. He’s not. If you could land in a better overall team by moving Jazz, obviously that’s all of our intentions, but you have to do so many moves. If you move Jazz, Jazz is a top five second base. Like if you’re moving Jazz, that means you need to clean up like the rest of the infield. Yeah. And I don’t know. I No shots fired at Brendan Donovan, who his offensive stats are more impressive than I thought before I got in here. But we’re still This is the guy before Judge and like I know you said his swings built for Yankee Stadiums. Like he’s I don’t know if he hit 10 homers last year. And that’s fine. And that’s fine. How many How many did Quan hit? He’s a contact bat like hit that many either. I think last year 11 and we would label him as zero power. Wow. Jake, you just want homers. Homers. Homers. Yeah, Jake. I don’t want All you want is balls over the fence. If we get one of these guys, I do need homers elsewhere in the lineup. Trent’s going to hit third because if you mind, short stop, catcher, third base. Why don’t we Why don’t you believe in Wells? Um, Brendan Donovan, born in Germany. Does that help you out? You’ve been looking for more international guys. First ever NL Utility Gold Glove winner. Okay, but he’s a lefty. DJ won the first. He’s a lefty. The team will be very lefty. Can’t do it. You can’t do it to get a to get a non elite lefty. Wait, you can’t do it. Can’t do it. The team. You can’t add another lefty to the infield. A lefty who plays second base. You cannot add another lefty to the infield. He played a lot of left field, too. But especially if we’re saying top three, Belly, Tucker, maybe Quan. Like there’s another lefty in the outfield. We could cannot add another lefty to the infield. Feels like everybody that’s available in the outfield, but he’s played a lot of left field. Well, you can’t do it. Remember how before the Yankees built the team on only right-handed hitting? He had a go-ahead grand slam for his 100th career hit. Good. Good for him. Much better verse righties than lefties as a lefty. So, you two trades two trades have happened with the Yankees and the Cardinals in the talking Yanks area. Jake named one already. Name it, Jake. Uh, Brexit. Harrison Bader. Harrison Bader. Joe’s name the other. Monty, that was the same trade for Vader. All right. Um, happened in 2018. 2018. Come on, Cosma. No, we can’t be. It was a deadline deal. Home run champ, dude. It’s one of cash. One of the cash god moves. Home run champ. Got a car dealership out of it. Is this a GGO’s pitched? Well, no, they signed Holiday. Home run champ. You keep saying that. I don’t know why. Luke Voit, Jason Shrie for Luke Voit and Gos. Oh, Luke Voit. Yeah, Gyos did turn out good, but Voit did help for like that short threeear stint. It was part of like multiple years ago. Gyos. Okay, another voicemail. This video is brought to you by Shopify. From the Los Angeles Angels. Yes. Why it’s possible? One, the Los Angeles Angels are in an franchise. Yes, that’s true. Two, sorry, the Los Angeles Angels need starting controllable young pitching. What do the Yankees have starting controllable young pitching? Plus, you could throw in someone like maybe Jose Cavierro or maybe even Vulpi. Little a little little sweetener for the deal. Zack Netto, dream target. Go Yanks. What’s going on, guys? My name is Brandon. My dream target for the Yankees is Zach Neto from the Angels. And the reason why is he’s basically exactly what the Yankees say that Vulpi is. He is for better power. He gets on base more frequently. His defense is good. And what are the Angels even playing this year? So, I think we should get Zack Neto improve our infield. In my opinion, a much bigger need than the outfield. What do you guys think? Yeah. So, this is funny because anyone and people listening to this aren’t Yankees fans and this is labeled dream trade. Yeah. I’ve been saying this is my dream trade. Dream it. The other people that have been talked about are talked about being shopped rumored to be like being asked about articles. There’s nothing about but it’s a dream trade. It’s a dream trade. We need a shortstop. We need more power. We need a leadoff hitter. A little bit of attitude. Like, yeah, it’s a dream trade. I agree. I I love him. It’s just you said, what do the Angels need? Young uncontrollable starting pitching, right? Uh because of Vulpi and I’ve been looking around the league. The I think the number one asset and the hardest thing to get is a young controllable good starting shortstop. I think that’s harder right now to find than pitching. It feels like they’re moving a lot of people off shortstop every year. It feels like So, um I’d love Zach Neto. I mean, if we can if if he’s available, yes. But I just I don’t I I see the Angels being Can I ask you guys a bad franchise? Not that bad. Can I ask you guys a question? Yes, you just did. Brian Cashman, in an honest moment, we give him we time to a chair. Give him truth serum like we always do. Mhm. You don’t need to. Yeah, we don’t need to. He would be honest. Pretty honest. If we told him Vulpi Jones, Will Warren for Zach Neto, do you think he’s like I would do that in a heartbeat or he’s like you’re giving up way too much? Genuine question. Vulpi and Jones. Vulpi Jones, Will Warren. He’d probably want he’d probably say take one of the young starters. I don’t I think he I think one of the prospects I think he might do that after a lot of attempting to not do it. That’s where I’m saying he’s not talking to the Angels. If that’s Luis Heel, I think he says yeah because there’s just much more injury concerns. Okay. or it’s a minor league pitcher that has all six years, but it’s an unknown. Guys, he’s on the phone and he’s saying, “What? We have been talking to his guys and they’re looking at each other like he’s doing the Wolf of Wall Street a little bit.” Like everybody’s like, “Relax. We uh I don’t know, man. The Angels are an odd team. We’ve been We’ve been I hope you’re right. We’ve been told the Angels are a team that uh Yankee Yankee tax the Yankees and trades don’t do a lot of trades. I just looked up the trade history between those two teams. It’s bizarre, right? Oswell PZA. Okay, more it gets weirder than that. The Yankees, this is every trade with the Angels in our timeline. There’s one that’s kind of normal. Yankees sent, they take any DFA Yankee Jabari Blash. The Yankees got him and then they had to DFA him. They traded him to the Angels. They received a player to be named later uh and cash considerations. Tyler Wade 21 21 got DFAD. The Yankees uh sent him the Anaheim for a player to be named later and cash considerations. Oswald PZA they gave us 25 grand for him or something and Wilbur Deñena. The Yankees got Tyler Wade back from them in 2022. Oh, and then the only real trade the Hean Dog. Yes. Jansen Junk and Elvin Pagora Aguero. So this trade is not happening. No, but it is a dream trade. It’s a dream trade. We’re dreaming. Little trivia for you guys. Uh I may have positioned this trade to Boone off air and he might have just paused and then left the room. He did. He did. That might have happened. Um position that Oswell Praza played the most with the Angels. Bench third first short first base. Can you bring up some highlights? You bring up like a clip or two to see if he’s got a good play at first base. Wait, the defensive stats don’t like that. Who cares? I mean, you do. Uh, defensive stats are You like above average, though. I don’t really use defensive stats if I don’t watch them play. Like I would need to go watch him play a bunch of ground balls like we did with IKF who had good defensive stats and then we watched him play and we’re like he’s awful. He’s not awful. He’s just not a starting starting short stop. He’s the role that he was the second year of the Yankees and the role he was for the Blue Jays is I can’t used properly. The first year when he was their starting short stop was just an utter mess. So Zach Neto staying New York. That is dream train. Dream trade. Dream trade for you. I’m all right. I got a good one and it’s coming in hot take. Okay. Jiren Durant from the stank ass Red Sox. Excuse my language, but there’s no better place for him to play than the best city in the world. He’s got a chip on his shoulder. Turn this off. He’s a little spicy. He’ll fit him. I’m sorry, but I don’t want Jared. He’s a That’s gross. That’s a gross thing. It’s a little gross. That’s being like calling up and being like, I want Pedroa. Like he’s like he’s the Red Sox. It’s not gonna happen. We trade with them. Verdugo. Yeah. I can’t be pining. I know. Understand that. But I can’t be pining for like he’s a Red Sox. He’s the highest selling jersey. He’s a Red Sox. You can’t root for a Red Sox trade. No, I can’t be You can only be surprised for a Red Sox player to be on my team. That’s gross. If it happens, it’s like, oh, like even Pedro and Ortiz, I wasn’t like, bring him here. Pedro, once he went to somewhere else, then I would have loved to experience him, right? Once you’re not there, you’re not there, guys. We can’t Durant. No, no, it’s not even. And if the Red Sox do that, the the Fenway faithful will burn Fenway Park. They’ll be so mad. And I once um was in line with him at McDonald’s. Oh, the Dallas airport. And what happened? It was 12 hours after he won All-Star game MVP. You talked to him? No, I didn’t. I didn’t. I didn’t. He had headphones in and he was It was 7 a.m. at McDonald’s and he was he was just looking to go home. Okay. So, that’s okay. Thank you. That was a good story. I hate the prices at McDonald’s, man. Oh, yeah. It’s crazy. Crazy. What happened? There’s no dollar menu. I grew up on dollar McChicks. No, that’s like $4 now. A chicken. Crazy. That’s out. Jared Durant, we can’t do that. Come on. That’s not even a dream. It’s not even a dream. Okay, I have PZA plays for you. Oh, wow. Hey, where’s my video? But every tick you add, especially on the fast ball, can make a big difference. Barza makes a sliding stop and robs Garcia one away. Anybody who’s I feel so bad. What is the score of this game? 20 to three, man. Louncing. Yeah. I wonder if he’s got you good at scooping. I’m Yeah, he’s probably thinking like, “Where did I go wrong?” Yeah, sure. Stop. I think he knows. I think he knows. I mean, just being honest. Oh, boy. Beautiful. All right. How you doing, guys? The dream target is uh Tariq Scooble. And why do I think it’s possible? Well, it’s probably not, but we do have the prospects to make it happen in the pipeline. So, it’s a dream target. Go get school bowl. Put your money where your mouth is. Win a ring. Put your money where your mouse is on the table. If the Yankees do this, and this would be the third straight year where they’re acquiring a a pending free agent, and it you better resign this guy because you got to give up a lot to get Scooball, right? Um, dude, that that might be their strategy in this like forever. No, in this like Judge Cole window hunting. You had a couple scooable days, Jim, that passed. Did I? Yeah, I think passing a tweet that was just like they love young pitching and the and the Yankees have young pitching. Um, no, it doesn’t it doesn’t uh kind of what Joe is saying. I’d be excited about it, but they need lineup. I I don’t have them trading school. You’d be giving up a lot of your chips leaguers back. You want to know why I don’t like this at all? Because there is a part of me where my fan of MLB Whoa. overrides my Yankees fandom a little bit where like dude Detroit was in the playoffs. They’re like a good team and to for them to be trading the best pitcher. It’s just like bad right for the sport. Uh you know I sign him and keep him in Detroit for a long time and be good now. Like it’s not like they’re the Pirates or the Marlins where you’re like get off that team because you’re not committed to winning anywhere else like that. We’ve seen the Tigers spend money before. Yes. They’re rumored for Bregman. Yeah. Scuba’s going to be a big number. He pitches like that again. Yeah. He’s going to he’s going to be closer to four. All right, Jo. Do you want to try and name a couple more of the shorts stops? Um I think that was the year Jeter got hurt. So I think Jeter is he started the year. Okay. Thank god that’s the longest way to get Jeter. You should have just said Jeter. That’s two. You need three more. All the money in my wallet. Brendan Ryan. I thought you’d get him. Remember you remember Brendan Ryan. And now let’s continue on. That’s good. That’s all I needed. Two in that session. Good job. Saw the tweet that said, “Let us know your Yankees trade target. How about trading away Carlos Rodon? You will not win any playoff games in a World Series run with Carlos Rodon starting playoff games for you. Addition by subtraction, baby. 27 million. That’s going down the drain right now for a nasty guy with a bad attitude. Freed and Cole, jury’s still out on them. Crazy to even say that about Garrick Cole. We got the guy in 2020. He’s yet to deliver a ring. His last image is him not covering first base in the game five of the World Series. It’s a joke. I don’t like anything about this Yankee pitching staff. Trade all three of them. Freed Cole Rodon. Bye-bye. Give me five Schlitters in the rotation, baby. Homegrown. No, no, no. I appreciate I appreciate your passion, but you’re wrong, Bob. Like, I mean, well, he said a real weird phrase. They won’t win any playoff games on the road to the World Series with Rodon. They have done that. They’ve done that. And just Garrett, even Garrick Cole in that World Series game that he didn’t cover first, he was like shutting them down. One of the best Garrett Cole. Well, the Cole stuff’s crazy. He’s been very good. Yeah, he’s been it’s been insane. Like I I stopped listening when I got Cole. You mentioned won a World Series. I’m glad that person has that in them, but I don’t I don’t. Give me five sliters. Rodon has a full no trade clause. Well, yeah. It took so long to find Schlitler and we need a full year Slitler anyway. I need to see what that is. What word are you saying? You see Jake shirt. Clam Schlitler. One of the worst shirts. Hey, it’s great. One of the worst shirts we have on the sale right now. He doesn’t like anything about the current rotation. Give me five Schlers. Well, yeah, that’s right. He uh Schlers’s part of the current rotation, right? So, he doesn’t like it. He’s talking out of his butt. I like Flitler, but not better than Cole. Okay. Okay. Marry him. I would. Maybe I have two more. You want to try another shortstop before you cheat? Oh, you cheat. Close that tab. Huh? I I I don’t think you’ve looked at it, but you could have, but close it. I don’t think you’re I don’t think you’re quick and sly enough to look at it. Every time I’m about to, you ask me a question. Okay. Um, go. All right. Yeah. Next question. No. Come on. Huh? Name two more shorts after two more. There’s spins. There’s seven. You need to get five. You’ve got three. There’s I I thought four was a lock to be honest with you. Let’s Let’s get one 2013. Yes. You’re on the tab. Yeah. You think you take the next You take the next voicemail off and think, Jake, think you think Jake and I let Google DraftKings one touchdown can change everything. Ask Eli. Bibbs, Josh here from Massachusetts, but big Yankees fan. Catel Marte is the guy that the Yankees need to target. I know it’s going to cost a lot, but they should be willing to give up pretty much any hitting prospect. Uh any of those pitchers between Hess, uh Cunningham, uh ERC or I guess just Rodriguez now, but Marte doesn’t really strike out. Absolute menace. Switch hitter uh from the left side. can absolutely hit 30 homers at Yankee Stadium. And the Yankees need a guy like Catel Marte bad to lead off. I like Catel Marte a lot. I’ve been wanting Catel Marte since forever and he’s a switch hitter and he’s in a team friendly contract, right? And but he’s not team friendly. Whoa. doing a lot. Lot of accusations. A lot of accusations and he’s Dominican and I mean what I mean it’s a really big contract. It’s it’s somewhat big like well years wise you’re taking out a lot of years and for a team to move on from him when they have him locked up to a very like financially nice remaining contract that’s a pretty red flag. Well, it would have to be the clubhouse stuff. That’s what I’m saying, right? But the Yankees clubhouse has proven to be pretty good at that. Yeah, they will overshadow you and John J Carlo will just like hit you. Yeah, I think they’re getting bogged down by it. I think they should probably stop trying to like have all these people come in that they are going to like overcome and just get people so they can focus on winning. Well, if it’s Catel in, it’s Jazz. Who says they overcome? Josh Donaldson. No, like they did it with like the storyline with Jazz because like he had like rumors and stuff talked about how it’s awesome. So I’m Donaldson was another one like there was beef with Cole and like Donaldson had a reputation of being a irritator. Doogie’s reputation. Yeah, Purdue had a bad reputation uh with his club and I think that did burn them a little and they had to eat a lot. Okay. Ian Hamilton up to no good. No, come on. He’s wellliked. It’s a guess. It’s just It’s just cuz he looks menacing in his photos. It’s a joke. Adam Warren. Adam Warren. Who’s Who’s the cop now? Um AJ Cole. AJ Cole. Cop in Tampa. Yo, what’s going on? You were supposed to take that question off and now guess another short stop. Yeah. Before the last one. Exactly. No, there’s before. Okay. You’re not gonna win. I don’t know who’s another shortstop that played there. I don’t even know the infielders from that time at Jesus. All right. Canó. No. Uh Jason Nicks. That’s four. All right. Let’s take another question. I need another break. If you get five, it’s almost guaranteed you’re cheating. Oh my god. What the hell? I mean, close your laptop and get five. I don’t know anymore. I got money in my wallet. I’m done. I don’t know anymore. I don’t know anymore. I really don’t know anymore. I don’t know any. Was I’m trying to think about utility infielders, right? From that time period. 2013 sucked, right? Those teams those teams were like really tough to watch. Yeah. I don’t know the mean squad. How many more voicemails we got? I think this is our last one. Nice. Let me cheat. Don’t Don’t cheat. Money’s off. What? This is Mitchell from Virginia Beach. My dream trade target is Fernando Tatis Jr. of the Padres’s. Padres’s ownership is selling. They might be looking to slash payroll. They can’t really move Machado at his age with that contract. They can’t move. Bogarts might have the worst contract in baseball now that Renone’s done. And I think Tatis is a perfect fit in the Bronx. Right-handed bat, power bat, star power through the roof. Corner outfield. Perfect trade target. And the Yanks have MLB ready players and pitching and hitting prospects to get it done. Go Yanks. I’d love Tatis. I’m sure he could play left field. I’m sure he could play wherever the hell he wants honestly and he’ll be really good at it. Um, I don’t see that hap. I mean, it could happen. Maybe they like Spencer Jones a lot. San Diego kid. Yeah. And you could give him a lot, you know. I don’t know. They like They have this game’s scouting department as the Yankees. They’ve had the most former Yankees role through the past couple years. Yeah. A lot of trades. Wade, Higgy, Wii, King, Sodo, Fernando Tatis, dream. We’re dreaming. Otani, he’d be a dream candidate. I It’s a big contract. Tatis, right? But it’s not really, but he becomes your face through 2034. Kind of like what I was saying about Tucker, like if Judge gets hurt or slows down, like those 2012, 2013 Yankees when the faces all got hurt and then you had 2013 where you’re like, “Oh my god, he becomes the pass the baton.” Who’s that? No way. That was a Yankee. I’m going to check. It’s from 20 Look at these. Oh, dude. I don’t know. His contract’s a ton of money. 20 Well, it’s going to age well. Well, if you’re going to give this to Tucker, yeah, it’s just what would you actually have to give San Diego because you’d have to give them something because this isn’t a better age timeline than Tucker. And the other thing that’s bizarre is like Tucker Tucker has better numbers. I guess they’re more similar than I thought, but throw him back at shortstop. One of one of the goals we got was get Tatis to play short. Fernando, hear us out. That would be awesome. You could go back to short. He’d love to. He’d love to think he did it. Can I just make an announcement? Think he did it? Uh, I don’t know. Yeah, it’s too late. Robinson Canó made a start at Shoretop. In 2013. Yeah. No, no, no. He did not. It says he made one start at Shoretop. He did not. He played one inning at Oh, he played Well, he played That counts. He played a game. And he played one inning at short. Would that have counted? No, I said multiple starts was the whole prompt. It sounds like you’re looking now. Well, I’m looking now because I told you I didn’t have any more. Alberto Gonzalez started five. Lu Luis Cruz started five. Famously fought all of Canada in the World Baseball Classic. And Reed Brigyak started five. I would have never gotten any of those names. That’s why I put all the money in my wallet on which I think is like 80 bucks. So, but you should have still given me something because I got a percentage high. No, I knew you would get four. What do you mean? I got all of the good ones. I think you’re gonna get four. That’s why the payout started at five. He got a percentage high. I got a percentage high. Yes. And I said Canó’s name. Name the most recent trade between the Yankees and the Padres’s. Um for half the money in my wallet, but you got 10 seconds. Would it be um what’s his what’s his name? Um five, six, seven, eight. No, wrong. That was a sodo trade. Most people talk about it. No, they sent the Padres’s Brandon Lockage and got Danielle de los Santos. That should count. You also have You need to tell you need to say you also have You also have the Greg Allen waiver trade and they traded Luke Voit to the Padres’s for Justin Lang. Pipeline’s open. Voit mentioned twice for Sodto. Why can’t you count the the Sodto trade? I did count it. I said give me the most recent trade between the two teams. No, but I want that one though. Nobody. Come on. Any of the Los Santos. Come on. Like you got to give me the Sodto one as the trade. That’s not That’s kind of the whole game. That was it, dude. You just lost 40 bucks. Padres are where they got you from. 120 bucks cuz you lost the first bet. Well, if you had won that bet, I wouldn’t have been able to give him a half of nothing. I would have spotted you. Oh, okay. A half of nothing is nothing. True. That’s math. Thank you. That’s all of our calls. Now, who didn’t dream big enough? No Otani, no skins trade. There were skins calls, but none of them phrased it in a way that I could. Oh, wow. If you called in about skins, BBD hated the way you phrased it. Yeah. Well, Tatis was by far the most calls. That’s why he had to give. Guys, that’s not far off. Comment below if you believe I should be getting the money because I mentioned Canó’s name. He didn’t start a game at short. Excuse me, sir. It says one. And I clicked on shortstop and it says one game tried to cheat and failed at cheating. I need to see that inning that he played at shortstop. I do kind of want to find out why he played inning at shortstop. Yeah, like that’s crazy. I mean, one inning had to be a blowout, right? It’s either extra innings, funny business, or it’s end of the season. And maybe it was the game Jeter got hurt. It was April 13th, 2013. Start time 4:08 p.m. local. 41,800 in attendance at Yankee Stadium 3. Game duration 2 hours 49 minutes, a short one when each team had 11 hits. Baltimore ends up winning 5-3 and Robinson Canó goes from second base to shortstop when they pinch hit Brennan Bosch for Jason for Jason Nicks and then replace Bosch in the field by catcher Chris Stewart. What were you doing? Francisco Cvelli went from catcher to second base. That’s crazy. Gerardi was doing a lot with a little, huh? He was trying to win a game. He was trying to win a game. I mean, they had the bullpen in April. In April, he did this in April. The Yankees would the Yankees wouldn’t risk that kind of injury. in April and Gerardi was scratching and clawing for [ __ ] wings. Yeah, but it it wore out the guys, man. Yo, I mean Darren OD was pitching for the Orioles. I row had a single and then Lyall Overbe singles. So there’s two outs, two on. Each row is on second and he pinch hit. I’m guessing the righty Brennan Bosch over the lefty. I don’t think Brennan Bosch my only shortstop on the roster. I don’t think he’s getting pinch hit. Had a side. Can I’m putting you in. They pinch hit Chris Stewart. No, they replaced Chris Stewart in the field and moved Cvelli to second and Curvelli fielded a ball. No, he did not. No, he didn’t. No, he didn’t. Fly ball. Strike out. Fly ball. That was in the eighth inning. He’s acting like it’s August. Okay. He’s in a division race. It’s April. The season just started. Game 10 of the season. Joe, thank you. Okay. I appreciate it. Game 10. I believe they were like two and eight to start the year though. Five and five after this game. I don’t know. Okay. Earlier. Wouldn’t hate it if Joe got one more year. All right. Wow. Go Yanks. Go Yankee. Tell them. Go Yankees. They were one in4 to start the year. Okay. That game. Was that the road trip? So that that game where he did all that, they were on a four game win streak. Scratching crawling and then they won the next three after. Yeah, because he showed them. We care. That’s awesome. That’s awesome.

Stop coming for my boy Neto
My dream scenario is Ryan, Kwon and belli. Then trade Grisham when he becomes eligible. Have Dominguez or Spencer Jones as the 4th outfielder and if it’s Jones he can learn from Belli and play some first. Rice plays 1B and backup catcher. Also like Donovan as a utility guy. While Cabby is filling in for Volpe as he’s recovering from the offseason surgery
Trading for Brendan Donovan does NOT mean they trade Jazz. We should want Donovan for 3B
Can the Yankees pay Corey Seager? That would solve the SS
DISASTER intro from Joez. DISASTER. Get this guy OFF the mic!!!
I know they said this was December 4th but did they watch hot stove last night ??? They need to start having some new dreams cuz this is a nightmare
Dream trade for me would be Peralta and Contreras
Followed by Donovan
Take your guess who’s leaving in that trade
These trade ideas sound like the Wilpon Mets..
I know Shubal and Skenes are the top targets, yet I would go after Chris Sale.. Yes, I know he is 37. Yes I know he is injury prone but when he is on… he is on. With the age and injury history, you could get away with a package of Warren and Arias for Sale. Not much to give up yet the potential is there. Imagine that arm as your 3rd pitcher in the playoffs behind Cole and Fried. Thats tough.
Tbh Yankees probably won't sign anyone good
Tucker LF
Bichette SS / 2B
Akamoto 3B
Trades for pitching
Volpe for ranch flavored sunflower seeds.
I love Tatis
My dream trade is Buxton and Jose Ramirez.
Buxton can leadoff and add a much needed Right handed bat. Top 10 player if he plays more than 120 games.
Ramirez is the perfect example of consistency and production.
Jose Ramirez
Trade Cole, Fried and Rodon is wfan quality.
trade everyone over 30 for prospects and tank
None of these trades are happening lmao
The Yankees trading Volpe and pitching for Neto would help them continue their goal of ruining Oswald Peraza’s life
Sign bichette trade for kwan
If there’s anything I’ve learned from watching this podcast is that y’all need to stop worrying about which players are signed and start demanding better coaching staff is hired because it seems players aren’t the issue, it’s the people who are coaching and managing this team with the same level of skill as parents coaching pee wee baseball.
Seth Lugo would be super interesting
Joez 100% said Cano. Jimmy is dirty
The sniffing is unbearable. Sorry, love you guys but can't listen to another second of it.
That 🤡 caller who cried about Rodon and Cole is the reason everybody else hates yankees fans, they think we are all weirdos like him.
I wouldn’t want Tatis. Guy has not been the same player since his steroid suspension.
dream trade tgt is Tarik Skabul or Paul Skenes. Not realistic, Tatis Jr. Lopez Ryan or Alcantera, Definitely not Kwan!! Sign Tucker and Bichette and Trade Grisham somehow.
Why do Yanks always wait till late before moving, why not sign early or trade early?
Buxton , not Belanger or Tucker.
trade for a new owner, that would be cool
Love him but i don’t think Joez deserved the money at all…he also might’ve cheated paap
Kwan should be the outfielder we go after
Kwan is an Oriole.
Yankees want to stay under $300m. They’re not doing shit
I actually remember that game at the end. Lmao Cervelli did play 2nd! That’s the 2nd Yankee catcher i remember playing 2b. Posada being the other !
Cashman will never trade volpe. That would prove that cashman put all his faith in a bust of a player and he can never admit defeat. His ego is too big.
Empty the farm for Hunter Greene and Elly. Volpe, Dominguez, Grisham + cash, Schlittler.
Trading for anyone other than William Contreras would be a huge mistake.
There are too many lefties in this lineup, which is why I wouldn’t have given Trent the QO… but due to that, I feel like Wells, Jazz, or McMahon has to go. You aren’t getting rid of Rice or Trent, and LF is most likely going to be a lefty or Dominguez (better from the left side)
If it’s really a “dream” trade then it’s Bobby Witt Jr. or Juan Soto or Paul Skenes.
Are we talking about semi realistic? Joe Ryan, Nico Hoerner, Brendan Donovan
Love these guys but I think the trade videos are my least favorite. They just (self admittedly) aren’t all that tuned into prospects and costs in trades. That’s ok, and most people are ultimately just guessing, but they seem to fall into the classic Yankee fan trap of overvaluing their prospects. No, Steven Kwan is not going to be cheap. There would be no reason for them to move off him if it was just “a prospect”.
And if Volpe, jones, and Warren was the price for Neto, cashman would have driven those guys in a rickshaw across the country himself. That’s not even remotely it.
Whoever said trade Cole, Fried, and Rodon is a complete idiot
Ketel Marte to 2nd. Jazz to 3rd. Belli back. And fix the bullpen
$100 million for those three starting pitchers is genuinely insane tho lol. I get the Cole point too, he’s not as good as you guys think in big games
I’d say the ideal trade for me is Harper for Jones. Philly front office seems upset with him and might want to cut the contract. Then Cashman feels vindicated for not signing him
Hey , hang around the Padres' hotel room. Find out if they are going to have a yard sale, a team up for sale will want to ditch their long term contract to improve the price, Machado at 3rd? Tatis back to shortstop? Tell those Cheap Charlie minority owners to ditch the side pieces and back blowing past the soft cap limits.
If we're dreaming big…Cashman and Boone for Don Mattingly and Theo Epstein.
Middle guy is too annoying.
GO GET PAUL SKENES !!!!!
This Cal Raleigh T Mobile Ad is really starting to bother me
