I miss Jack, hope he is healing ahead of schedule!
I’m curious if first and third periods also show such a drastic split. No reason they wouldn’t. Just seems weird to do a graphic only about the middle period of a game.
I’d be livid if I were him and saw this
Laughable yet I haven’t laughed about it.
See, here’s the thing. Believe it or not, we CAN win games without Jack. It’s happened before. This season and last season and the season before. What I don’t get is how discombobulated the team becomes when he’s out. Or hell, even when he’s in. It’s usually a coin flip if they’ll play coherently regardless of if Jack’s in the lineup. That’s what needs to be addressed. Nico, Bratt, Timo, Mercer, Glass, these guys have shown they can play. Brown has a proven record of being good depth but has cooled off. We know what we’re getting out of most of the other guys by now, but whether or not Dadonov scores on the 3rd line when healthy doesn’t have much to do with Jack being in. What needs to be addressed the most is how the team approaches each game. Not whether or not Jack is playing
This isn’t to discount what Jack brings to the table btw
He’s a game changer. Not much to understand or evaluate.
I really hope this solidifies the narrative that Jack Hughes is an impact and possibly an elite player.
I think the PP took the biggest hit. Hughes seems like the only one with a solid enough zone entry game- or the only who does this in practice.
This translates into 5v5 a bit too. But, ultimately we haven’t been able to endure defense zone shifts well at all recently. I can feel the goals against before they happen. How many exit passes were turned over last night?
I don’t imagine VGK will be any different of a game.
It’s not a one man show, that makes it sound like Jack does it all himself. What Jack does is elevate all his teammates around him.
These stats are scary and not good. No doubt. But they’re also really weird. Aside from goals for, I haven’t really seen these stats posted and they’re only for the second period. It just feels…. Cherry picky to me. Granted this is the devils broadcast, so idk why they’d cherry pick stars that make us look like dogshit, but still it’s an odd selection.
He really takes advantage of the long change.
We miss Pesce more. Defense is in shambles.
But it’s hard to have a guy like Hughes out and still be a good squad. PP looks so clunky. because you have only 1 player who can handle the puck well, Bratt. When Dougie and Meier get some pressure it looks ugly. Although Meier has improved a lot. If Dougie isn’t going to shoot the puck, he should not see the ice on the power play. Both Nemec and Hughes are better puck handlers and better passers
Just shows us how terrible the depth is. I think we got a great top 6 and an absolutely stacked defensive core when everybody’s healthy. I genuinely can’t say the same for the bottom 6.
At this rate he’s gonna have a lot of work to do just to get us back in the playoff picture when he gets back in January
Lol, win something
Can’t be a real contender until the rest of the group wants to show the fuck up. Every team has injuries and can still manage to perform. And the playoffs have to be a group effort.
It doesn’t make sense to me. Jack is our best player for sure, but on paper the Devil’s should be better than this without him
