A.J. Terrell has played the most coverage snaps in the NFC without giving up a touchdown. He is also among the leaders in several other categories, including the fewest targets, receptions allowed, and yards allowed per snap in coverage among NFC cornerbacks with at least 300 coverage snaps.
It actually sucks that special teams, short offensive possessions, and certain players being forced onto the defense (like JD Bertrand) are making the overall defense way worse than it should be, even though we have some real playmakers especially among our rookies.
Aside from the second Panthers game, I feel like AJ has been fantastic this year. Probably on par with his 2021 season
I don’t dislike the guy. Just think he is super overrated
Every now and then he’ll have a bad game but I also feel like fans have insane standards for DBs sometimes. Dude can play a great game but get burned once and that dude will get shit on for it. Lot of people here act like 0 catches, 0 yards allowed is the only acceptable stat line for for a defensive back. This isn’t Madden bro. Good CBs get burned sometimes.
Our defense wasn’t the problem this year minute 1 or 2 games, it’s the coaching mainly, sure the offense could be better but the coaching isn’t giving us a chance

I remember the sub exploded on TD for drafting Terrell when CeeDee Lamb was still on the board. Considering it was seen as a “drafting for need, not best available” draft, what a S-Tier pick Terrell turned out to be.
Michael thomas absolutely owned this dude. Since hes been out of the picture, absolutely love aj. Hope he sticks around, but i wouldn’t blame him (or anyone else) for bailing on this garbage ass franchise
AJ will be a lifelong falcon like Jake. And he deserves all the kudos coming his way. These guys deserve wins. This franchise has talent .we have always had some talent . Problem is we always squander it . Matt , Julio, Tony G , turner (recency bias aside) crumpler, Dunn , jerious Norwood, Keith brooking, prime grimes, and so on. We have an identity crisis. An outright culture problem. The leadership of this franchise has been okay with being okay for too long. And I’m outright sick of it.
This is what happens when you give him a pass rush. Wish we had this for him five years ago.

I love Terrell and I’m a fan, but, To play devils advocate.
When you have a secondary made up of mostly scrubs except Terrell, for years, he would of course not get targeted. Why would you target him. Target the scrubs and score the touchdowns that we have all seen where we lose because of poor play in the secondary.
Now his play of course, is superior.
It was time for a change of scenery but Thomas Dimitroff was honestly a solid GM. League best GM, no way, but he was very consistent and I miss it.
