TNF’s Andrew Whitworth on Whether Bears or Packers are NFC North’s Best Team | The Rich Eisen Show
I would be remiss if I did not bring up what you personally witnessed on Friday uh in Philadelphia. Um I I honestly watching that Black Friday game on Prime Video, Andrew, I was looking on my Amazon app to see if they were giving like 20% off on Spite, you know, and delivering it for free to the stadium, you know what I mean? Because it was insane. Literally every, you know, uh, run for no gain, every attempt that was incomplete was just a hammering of booze from the crowd. Yeah. What where are the Eagles in your mind at 8 and4, Andrew? Yeah, it’s been it’s it’s been tough to get a hold of them because you keep feeling I think that every week uh we almost have put them in that category with the Chiefs and some of these other teams that are year in and out are good. You just you just expect, hey, man, even when there’s these laws like, all right, they’re about to get going. and they’re going to have this huge run uh and and they’re going to turn things around and and it just hasn’t seemed to happen and they haven’t been able to find any consistency offensively and then even to me now they they feel like they’re searching a little bit. Like you look at it, they they kind of start all of a sudden playing some more empty. They start changing up a little bit formationally what they want to do and uh you starting to see some repeat calls of things they believe in and then still can’t get Saquon going. I mean, I thought of all weeks to me what really put them to me in the category of, man, I just don’t know if it’s going to happen was this week because I said, look, the Bears have been opportunistic on defense. They’ve gotten turnovers, but they haven’t been statistically like great against stopping the run or doing any of these things. And all of a sudden, it’s like I’m like, this is the game. Like, this is it. You just got beat by the Cowboys. You’ve got to be livid. This has got to be response game. We’re the defending champs. It’s like we’re about to go out and show the world uh who we are, remind people while we’re special, and for them to get shut down in the run game again, to get nothing going uh in a game, in an atmosphere with the weather, the wind, everything else that like this is the game. If you could do it, you’d do it. Uh they’re not able to do it. And on the other side, the Chicago Bears run the ball at will against them. Unreal. Um I I think to me that’s really the message was sent and that is that we might have been waiting on the wrong team to take off. Maybe it’s the Chicago Bears that uh we need to put in that conversation of a team that’s ready to make a run. Yeah. And then this weekend against green against the Green Bay Packers, uh a half game separates them. Uh that one tie separates them. And so which is the best team in the in the NFC North? the team that you’re seeing on Thursday night going to put their foot in the ground and flip a switch or the winner of this game in Green Bay this weekend. Again, you just eyeballed the Bears, man. What do you think the best team in the NFC North is? Andrew Witworth who? Yeah, I I think to me right now I’m going to sit here and say I think it’s the Green Bay Packers. And I think it’s just because I believe that they’ve got a little bit of everything you need to go contend and be the best team in the NFC and and really compete with Seattle, compete with LA because of what they can do on offense, the defense they can play, and some of the playmakers they have. I think to me, they’ve played more consistent, the quarterback position as well, than probably what what Caleb Williams has done in Chicago. But I mean, this this game this weekend is for it all. I mean, the Bears can prove who they are and show their metal. And I think it’s also cool. You look at the NFC North in the next three or four weeks, we’re going to know exactly who they are. I mean, they got game the Lions play the Rams. They play the Cowboys. The the Bears and Packers play each other twice. The Packers also play the Broncos. Like, we’re going to know exactly what’s going on in this division and who’s who’s for real over the next three, four to weeks. And and it’s a little bit of survival like how many of those games they get through healthy and showing who they are as contenders. I think it’s going to be fun to say who fun to see who kind of rises to the crop in in this division. And right now, I think to me it’s probably going to be the Green Bay Packers. But hey, anytime you start off, Rich, your opening press conference and you say, “I can’t wait to go beat the Packers twice a year.” Uh, you know what? And Matt Laflur, I this one’s going to be fun because you know how it is. We’re going to hear all week that it was nothing. It meant nothing. And the floor is going to ignore that it existed. And behind closed doors, there is for sure some conversations of this is what was said and this is what has to go happen on the football field. So, I I’m excited to see maybe uh a little bit of uh some extra energy in this game come next week. I love it. Extra energy and then Yeah. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. American deserves to know… First!!!
Packers of course! 😂💚💛💚💛 Go Pack Go!
Please, if the Bears beat GB it will be brushed off as a weird division game and people will still say GB is better. We heard that the Bears would prove themselves by beating the Eagles. Well, they beat the Eagles and still we hear they have to prove themselves.
Like I said, if Bears beat GB people will minimize it and act like it didn't happen. However, if GB beats the Bears the narrative will be how the Bears are collapsing and that they were exposed as frauds.
No surprise the Bears aren't picked. This NFL season is like picking a stock. Past performance is not a predictor of future performance. Bears going to own the Pack this year.
The Bears about to make A-Dub look like A-dumb in a few days.
Mr Johnson is 5-1 vs Mr grey Poupon’ 🧐
Go Bears!!!!
It depends how Sunday goes…
Two bald guys disgust Football
Until Bears make playoffs they'll be shorted. It's another coin toss game, Packers only have 55-58% chance of winning. Bears will win by a touchdown, probably stuff the Packers run game and force a turnover.
Caleb is undefeated in Green Bay
He said “I’ve enjoyed beating Matt LeFleur twice a year” not “I’m going to beat Matt LeFleur twice a year”. Very different context
You're wrong buddy 😅😅😅let's goooo Bears 🐻 cheeehooo
I am born in the windy city and a Bears fan for life. However I think Greenbay is going to win. Someone has to stop them Bears. lol
I’m glad everyone is shorting the Bears, I think we’ve been under dogs in all but 2 games this year, and we’re 9-3, may it continue until February! 🐻⬇️
Ben Johnson is neglecting his wife this week to focus on this game. Packers gonna get all the smoke!
Andrew stfu. Big hate! “ The Chicago Bears” just say you don’t like the Bears.
Were not gonna loose to them this is an underdog year. Ben Johnson knows what’s at steak. Look GreenBay has had its wtf moments. There not that good. . There the pretenders. Not the Bears.
Green Bay lost to Cleveland, Carolina, Philly, and barely held on to tie Dallas. As a Bears fan I am not worried about the Packers at all this season. Chicago is going to sweep them and maybe then they will finally get the respect they deserve. 🐻⬇️
Bears are getting no love outside of their fan base. The point spread is crazy. I haven't seen the Bears other than thumping the Eagles, so what do I know.
🐻⬇️🍺
I think the 2 teams are mostly equal….coaching is where the Bears are next level. I bet Bears money line. 🎉🎉🎉
Only thing Bears are good at are turnovers and a decent run game.
Thats all they have to them.
Outside of that, stat wise, they suck.
Caleb sucks
Defense sucks
Offense outside of the pass game is okay.
Packers are great on all sides of the ball.
Great offense
Amazing defense
Solid special teams (for the most part)
Their only major issue is the inconsistant playcallin earlier this season.
