It just got VERY real…
It just got very real with Giannis recently going down with an injury. We have even more massive reports about his future and how it involves the San Antonio Spurs. As one new report indicates, the San Antonio Spurs level of interest in trading Stfan Castle or Dylan Harper and a lot of Spurs fans are quite happy with the results. As Brian Wright is reportedly very active in trying to make something happen with Giannisko, the details just keep coming out day by day and we’re here to break it all down. all the latest reports on Giannis to the Spurs. And we’re going to start right here. Look, some of these reports came out yesterday after the video went out. So, we got to give some context before I get into the big one and how the Spurs are feeling about trading Castle or Dylan Harper. But one report yesterday was the Spurs are expected to aggressively pursue Giannis to pair him with Victor Wemyama. Oh my. And now you do have very interesting stuff out of Milwaukee with Doc Rivers saying Giannis has never requested a trade ever. You know, the agent can request a trade, the player can’t. I think that’s like a thing for the CBA, but regardless, we have this. No, not that. We also have this. Several NBA teams are meeting soon to put together a trade package for Giannis targeting December 15th. So, we knew this was going to be soon, but as of today via ESPN, this is going to happen within about a week and a half. And now with Giannis going down with his injury, it it adds another little wrinkle, right? Isn’t it kind of the same thing that happened with Luca? He went out with an injury, got traded. Anthony Davis went out with an injury got traded. Now Giannis, not saying, you know, he faked it. I think some people were saying he did. He’s out two to four weeks, but now that’s it, right? He’s injured. He’s going to be injured probably until he gets moved or I don’t know, at least until this December 15th date comes and goes. It’s such interesting timing, isn’t it? But right now, we know the San Antonio Spurs are one of the teams that are aggressively going after him and they’re poised to make a very good offer for Giannis. And I know a lot of us, a lot of you yesterday said, “Look, we don’t want Giannis on this team. I don’t want to break up the young core.” And I am completely on board with that. Like I think if it takes giving up the future for Jiannis Dakmpo, I am not really there for it. It shifts your window, right? Like you go from a team that’s looking to be competitive for the next like 10, 15 years hoping that the young guys develop into allstar and star level talents and Dylan Harper and Stefan Castle. Again, it’s never a guarantee that these guys will hit their ceiling. And so I understand both perspectives of like look if you trade Castle you’re getting a guy who could very well be an M who is an MVP candidate this year in Giannis first upon Castle that you don’t even have a guarantee is ever going to be an all-star. Now I think he will be but you know I get both sides of the coin here. However this recent report now I will say take it with a grain of salt. You know, it is Dusty Garza from Spurs report and I know some people have opinions about that and I’m going to leave that alone but I can only report what he said and he had to confirm with league sources and what he said is per league sources the Spurs and Bucks have discussed a Giannis and Tetakmpo deal in recent days signaling sub substantive movement after years of trade chatter. I can report that San Antonio also communicated that Stfan Castle and Dylan Harper are untouchable developing. Now, this is a very interesting development because it it if true, it opens up some weird doors, right? And again, looking at the Spurs payroll, we talk about matching salary. It’s going to be tough. And I’m going to get into a few mock trades here in a moment because both of them have some players that I know you won’t want to give up. But right now when we’re looking at the picture of the salary like if you don’t give up Castle and Harper now they’re not making that much money. They wouldn’t be the big salary matching pieces. We’re probably talking Kelton Johnson Harrison Barnes Vel whatever. But if you’re not giving up either of those two to me if everything that we’ve heard is true if the Spurs are aggressive we don’t want to give up Castle or Harper. They are untouchable. I I start to gravitate towards Fox because that just seems to be the thing that makes the most sense for the Bucks and for salary matching purposes. But if I’m the Spurs and I am a Spurs fan, I am never doing that. Like I don’t like look Fox for Giannis in a vacuum is like okay like Giannis is the better player, right? Is he the better fit for this team? I I don’t know. You could actually convince me that Fox is a better fit for this team. I might even try to convince you to be honest. But wouldn’t that just be the most coldblooded thing ever? the guy basically forces his way to San Antonio. His wife is from here, went to school here, and it’s like for him to come here just to trade him off. Like, I that’s not the Spurs way. It’s not something the Spurs would ever do. So, I don’t see Foxes ever being a part of this. But then I wonder how can you even pull off a trade if you’re not getting rid of Fox, Harper, or Castle, especially when you’re hearing stuff from other teams like, “Oh, maybe Carl Anthony Town’s name is thrown around from the Knicks plus or OJ Anobi and Male Bridges and a bunch of picks for the Rockets. Apparently, they’re going to put together an offer, but it would have to include Alparin Shenun, who’s an all-star in his own right. And so, it’s like, I don’t know how this would work, right? And you look at Harper, he’s been playing unbelievable. You can see that future star potential. And again, I’m not saying that Dylan Harper or Stefan Castle are ever going to live up to Jiannisko. But what I’m saying is getting rid of some of the young guys, shifting your win to like a lot sooner than you were maybe anticipating with these guys. Not to mention the Spurs have a bunch of future picks who would probably be involved in this Giannis deal. I don’t love that idea, right? And I think it’s a more cohesive unit when you have these guys. So when I look at mock trades, like I like this one here from Bleacher Report. The Spurs received Giannis and Thanasses. The Bucks received Harper, Vaccel, Kell, and two first round picks. Now in terms of picks given up, this one is not as bad as some others. So leave your thoughts on this. Would you do this trade? Would you do any trade? Let me know down below. Would you do any trade if it involved Dylan Harper? Me, I don’t think I would. And I and I know I’m Some people will call me crazy. Fans of other teams will call us crazy because I think you’re on board with me, right? You definitely are. Like we don’t want to give up Harper for Giannis. And other teams will be like classic, right? Fans of your team overrating your own prospect. I’m not saying Harper’s going to be as good as Giannis. I’m almost certain that he is never going to be anywhere near as good as Giannis is. Right. like Giannis is straight up like a top 30 player of all time probably. But again, there’s more to it than that. Winning like shifting your winning window like well it also depends like if if you care that much like if the Spurs value we need a championship in the next five years then it makes sense. But I just don’t see the Spurs being in that position right now. It’s not a very Spursy things to do. WBY hasn’t shown us enough yet where we’re at that like 2007 2008 level LeBron where LeBron got to a point where it’s like okay we’d be doing him a disservice if we didn’t help him now. We’re getting there and I think the Spurs could get there but to me it’s like that’s one thing that’s holding me back on this deal. So, this one’s interesting, but we also have this one from ESPN. And this one I think I’m actually maybe better with, and it sounds crazy, but for Giannis, it’s Stefan Castle, Harrison Barnes, Kelly Olen, Jordan Mclofflin, and three first round picks. 2027 swap with the Hawks or well, the Hawks pick 2029 and 2032. So, in this one here, the only young player we’re giving up, the only like key core player to this team’s future that we’re giving up is Stfan Castle. We actually get to keep a lot of young guys. We get to keep Harper. We get to keep Sohan. We get to keep Vel. We get to keep Kellen Johnson in this trade. But at the end of the day, it is Stfan Castle for Giannis. And and you know, I don’t know like three first and Castle. Objectively, if you’re just again putting this in a vacuum, that’s fine. But we’re not right. This again, I want to reiterate this is shifting the window so much earlier. Now, if Giannis can still be like a fringe MVP level player for six or seven years, I shouldn’t have said those numbers. If he’s doing that for the next five or six years, then yeah, it’s probably worth it. But to me, again, I I just I don’t like this idea. I don’t like this idea of moving the championship window up. But if this report is true, if this is true, and Castle and Harper are not on the table, right? Remember the Fox trade? I talked about this yesterday. Remember the Fox trade when we all thought it would involve Sohan or maybe Castle and then it just involved Trey Jones and Zack Collins and some picks. If something like that, if if ever that was possible, that would be pretty crazy. The problem is the Bucks are going to get better offers. They just straight up are. And if the Spurs are not willing to include Fox, Castle, or Harper, we’re just not going to be the best deal on the table. And Milwaukee John Horse will have no reason to do business with us. So, at the end of the day, as much as these reports are crazy, I don’t see us actually being any closer to a Giannis trade. I I think it’s interesting to think about like, you know, if I wake up and Giannis is on my team, I’m going to be celebrating. I’m be pushing that championship narrative just like you guys are, I’m sure. But anyway, it’s getting crazier by the day. I want to hear your guys’ thoughts down below. WE DON'T WANT HIM IN SAN ANTONIO. I love Giannis, great player, all-time great, but WE DON'T WANT THIS TRADE.
Spurs expected to "aggressively" pursue Giannis….LOL You're basing this on an unnamed source… lol. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Spurs are exceeding expectations by far while dealing with a ton of injuries. Let the boys play and learn to grow together. Don't gut the roster for one player.
“Breaking up a young core for a single player rarely works," Wembanyama told Maxime Aubin in his first interview since the end of the regular season. "I want the Spurs to be a balanced team, they’ve been masters of that in that past.”
Wemby himself would NOT be down on this trade if it's too costly, and Giannis will even be more costly than KD, who the spurs could've gotten if they really wanted to during the offseason. Trading Fox would have side effects that goes beyond the box score imo. At this point, I hope the Bucks just go on a winning streak so Giannis will just stay put and just be a Bucks lifer.

I'd rather keep this core group together, BUT it's a business and if they offer shit, at least keep Castle, Fox, and obviously Wemby together. Anyone else is up for grabs. Harper's future looks bright, but Cass is more important being that he's the reigning ROY. Harper hasn't done anything yet. At the end fo the day, Giannis is a nice piece, but he an old 31. Dude has MILES on them legs.

For me it s 10 time worst to trade Harper just after letting him play few weeks for us than to trade Fox after resigning him because your young backcourt is unexpectly nba ready and you had an opportunity like Giannis, and with Okc Denver even LA i think the path to the Finals could be easier in few years we dont have pressure to win now, specially this year
Fox cannot be moved until february 4th cause he signed the new contract this summer.
I honestly believe that it's not the best for the long term especially if you are giving up castle or harper. I honestly don't even completly like the fit and it can be that the giannis presence can slow wemby's playmaking progression.
I think that if the spurs want to make a trade to be competitive rn, i'd rather trade for lauri than giannis, cause he brings shooting in the pf position
Giannis brings a lot of interior scoring and playimaking that is not somenthing that the spurs need cause they have wemby and 3 pg in castle, harper and fox.
Obviosly the defense would be insane, but i dont know.
As i said, if they want to make a push for the istant team, I think that lauri is much better
Fun to think about but almost 100% this is not going to happen. The spurs build through the draft and core. I’m almost certain the spurs are NOT going to do this. Giannis is going to a high market.
