Remember when being in QB hell was the one thing we never had to worry abt? Good times

We should have him replace Zrob at OC, not like he could be any worse

I was/am one of the biggest Ryan supporters and I said many many times throughout his career that he was unappreciated and mistreated by the fans and organization alike. The Falcons failed Ryan and the fans weren’t grateful. I knew the day he left that we were going to miss him
He was sacked 488 times in his career (10th most in NFL history).
The most embarrassing stat? Cam Jordan sacked him 23 times. The organization literally let a division rival build a Hall of Fame resume off of our quarterback. That is the NFL record for the most sacks by one player against a single quarterback in league history
Between Mike Vick in 2002 and Matt Ryan in 2021, we only had like 2 gap years without a franchise QB, if you count Vick being injured in 2003 and the disastrous 2007 season.
Along with our longest playoff drought since Fulton County Stadium in the 80’s, this is also the longest we’ve gone with questions at QB since maybe the early 90’s IDK.
Yeah and everyone I know complained about him. I was always defending Matt to “falcons fans”
We used to equip him with weapons. Look at the disastrous squad now. Julio, Sanu, Gabriel, Hooper, Freeman, Coleman. Those were the days ….
I miss him 🙁
I miss Matt Ryan so much, not just the fact the team has tanked, but also the fact that he just locked in with 2mins left with the ball. He was so good and under appreciated by this fanbase and the league.
His knowledge of the game is actually kind of insane cause If you listen to him in the podcast, he is like pretty in tune, but I think for now, he’s just gonna enjoy doing TV And the podcast probably less pressure, and he can enjoy his life more plus how much he made in his career, he probably wants to have a few years outside the game before considering coaching.
I remember before Matt Ryan’s last season, a big chunk of this subreddit was saying it was time to part ways because of his contract lol. Josh Allen and Mahomes were still on rookie contracts so having a “cheap QB” was the trendy thing.
Problem is, QBs like Matt Ryan usually come around only once ever per franchise. I hope Penix is the guy but if you’re playing the odds, there’s a good chance he isn’t. It takes teams decades to find a QB sometimes, some teams have NEVER found a QB lol.
I don’t think he was even bad in Indy. If he stays here, I think he could be a great QB still on a cheaper contract.
Matt Ryan is a 9-8 beverage season QB which ranks fairly high. He places about where you’d think, very good (Brady is 13-4, Peyton 12-5, Brees 10-7). Kirk is 8-9, Vick 7-10, Mariota 6-11, Penix and Ridder 5-12. Now this is just speculation for the last 2, the only other Falcons QB to have a winning average record is Brett Favre.
He’s my Falcons GOAT. Maybe not the best player ever for us, but he’s the greatest.
I miss Julio
That we have to keep pointing to random individual player statistics rather than W/L records and post-season success proves how mediocre this franchise is. It’s a top down problem and always has been. Never forget this is the franchise that hired Marion Campbell TWICE!
I think I’m gonna cry. Come back my sweet prince!!!!! I’ll give you my health!
