Here's the article link. Although, I think you have to pay for the full article to be read.

  1. i dont really want giannis

i will take their aj green though, who’s shooting 49.7% from three tho lol

  2. Don’t get me wrong, I love Giannis. But where he is like a favorite cousin. Harper and Castle are my children.

  3. Spurs will only trade for Giannis if he will use his leverage (Like how we got Fox for a bag of chips)

I don’t know why everyone is even thinking that this specific office will gut their future. Giannis is Giannis. But championships are now won through depth and not super teams.

  4. If anything, I want this team to be involved in a multi-team trade for Giannis to see if we can somehow land Bobby Portis. He would be perfect for this team coming off the bench. If the Bucks decide to trade away Giannis they might want to start fresh and land as many project players and/or picks as possible, and Portis could end up being a casualty of their new approach to build a team.

Probably won’t happen but it would be great if it did.

  5. This isn’t a Spurs move. The Spurs don’t move off of talent like that when it comes with the attitude those two have. They fit right into the culture. They both have a lot of room to grow. And they both are already beloved by the fan base. That’s what sets this organization apart. They behave how everybody wished their favorite team behaved.

  6. Any trade for Giannis will need to include Fox for value and salary matching reasons. We won’t be able to carry Giannis, Fox and soon Wemby on Max deals. Also between Fox, Castle, Wemby, Giannis, Harper, there just won’t be enough ball to go around.

  7. Crazy how every non-Spurs fan keeps slamming Spurs fans for saying this and claiming “Do y’all really expect to get Giannis without trading one of Harper or Castle”. NO, we don’t expect to get him without giving one of them up so we don’t want to trade for Giannis at all under those conditions.

He pushes our window up by 1-2 years where as our guards would continue to develop in that time, but with OKC’s dominance I don’t think this is the time in the NBA to be going all in. Especially since a vast majority of our roster still lacks playoff experience. I’m fine with taking those extra years and having a contending squad ready for the next 8-10 years after that instead of scrambling when Giannis eventually falls off.

Only way I can see the Spurs pulling the trigger is if Giannis does something similar to Fox and we can give up something like Vassell, KJ, Jeremy, and 1sts but I doubt that happens unless we can get a 3rd team involved and hope they get semi-fleeced (I’d be looking at the Kings but they don’t even have any actual assets people want). Everyone points to the Spurs as one of his top destinations but considering our untouchables, the assets we have for Giannis aren’t enough and we shouldn’t be seen in that light.

  8. Kirk Goldsberry, former spurs exec who probably has more insider spur info than he lets on, basically kiboshed the idea of us trading for Giannis during Zach Lowe’s podcast today.

  9. They got three top tier draft picks, one of them generation, all on the same window of when their primes should hit. You couldn’t ask for more. Window is important and that window is aligned. Its huge.

  10. Giannis thrives on a stretch 5. Without one, he isn’t a mvp type player. The Spurs have that stretch 5, destined to be the best ever in that role. But the Spurs cannot fit Fox, Wemby, and Giannis, and a Castle extension in the near future easily.

  11. What happens when you trade your depth for a superstar? Your season goes down the drain when one of the stars gets a major injury. There’s also the question of fit. You’re gutting a group of players who are working well in order to pair stars who might not even play well together. If that doesn’t work, you might have to start over.

  12. Giannis getting injured as soon as trade rumors started kinda messed up his market, huh?

  13. We don’t need to ruin our young core for Giannis. Hell this team does not need Giannis in any way.

We have Wemby, Harper, Castle as our core. They work well together. If we let them develop correctly this team wil be an absolute threat for many years.

We do not need Giannis, we are not in a rush to win anything. We have time.

  14. Not my personal feelings, but I respect it.

I’m willing to trade castle depending on the other compensation included. I wouldn’t want to trade too much if castle were involved tho.

  15. Treat all this Giannis to Spurs rumors same as the KD to Spurs rumors during the off season.

Its fun to think about but its not happening.

As Sean says “Nothing to see here, moving on” 😆😆

  16. If FO chose to keep their more valuable assets like Castle and the #2 Pick (which became Harper) during the off-season, how much more today when Castle and Harper have been balling out?

  17. Can this guy go to the Knicks already so I can stop seeing these trade posts. Jeez
