Yeah people hating this trade don’t know what they’re talking about. Oviedo has a pretty high ceiling and is cheap for a long time. The 2 prospects we got seem like a lefty reliever that could be in the pen this year and a random college catcher drafted this year. Still haven’t seen the other player we gave up.
I think this means we have to be dealing Early or Tolle and throwing this dude in the back of the rotation
Love this move, cost controlled pitching is not cheap, he has higher upside than Garcia imo, and our outfield is set for the future

I’ve had so many arguments with people on this sub that the Sox need more pitching depth and I’m glad the front office feels the same way. We get a back end of the rotation arm with some upside and only gave up on outfield prospect who is effectively blocked from getting to the bigs for the next 4-5+ years.
Spring training is gonna open with a 30 man over the top rope Battle Royal for the 5th spot in the rotation.
