I’ve been seeing this graphic floating around IG abt Blackstone’s interest in having a majority stake in the Raiders. I can’t find any supporting articles to back it up, but it’s not far fetched considering that they have an 8% stake in Man U.

The tin-foil hatter in me says this is either a just a troll, or Blackstone testing the waters to see how the market (RaiderNation™️) would react. Another piece of me thinks this has been in the works, and that the NFL wants the Raiders to struggle & devalue our worth to make the sale easier… but I digress..

How would you all feel if this turns out to be true? Personally, if private equity takes control, I’d officially stop being a fan. Moving to Vegas was bad enough, but this is too far. What do you all think?

    Davis gets a lot of hate, but he’s a decent owner who cares about his team. I’ll take that over a sack of shit corp like Blackrock any day of the week.

    The Davis family is a big part of why I’m a Raiders fan and I would be sad to see the team owned by anyone else. But it’s not like Mark has kids and he’s already 70 years old.

    If he decided to sell, selling out to one of, if not the most powerful company in the world isn’t exactly bad for us.

    I would hate it on a chemical level, but it would likely bring success to the team.

  24. Technically PE firms can invest 10% into a team by buying that much into ownership. But if they wanted to buy a whole damn team, it’d require 75% of the other NFL team’s owners to approve such a sale.

    Not that it matters anyway, I really doubt Mark will sell the whole team to anyone with that type of “fuck you money” like Elon, Bezos, Saudis, Blackrock, Blackstone, or Vanguard.

  27. I’ve been a Raider fan since ’76 when I watched my first Super Bowl.

    I can’t imagine not being a fan if this goes down, but I’d have some serious soul searching to do if it did. The Blackrocks and Blackstones of the world are destroying not only America, but the globe.
