Red Wings show heart to battle back but goaltending costs them in shootout loss to Blue Jackets

Red Wings lose a absolute wild one down in Columbus to start a sixgame road trip. You I think you saw the best and the worst of this team in this game. They came back twice down 3-1 down 4-3 to eventually take the lead in the third period. Late in the third period, eight minutes remaining. But then they blew the lead with the goalie pulled. it’s either their second or the third time that they’ve blown the lead with the opposing goalie pulled uh and ultimately lose in a shootout. And so when I say you saw the best, you you saw the team relentless offense. I mean, they des offensively they deserved a much better result than they got. But defensively and goalending wise, it’s it’s the same stuff, different day. Uh one of the worst team save percentages in the league. Talbot was not good in this game. He allowed at least two in that he should have made the save on. And then just simple defensive mistakes, simple defensive miscues continue to cost them. So they lose six to five in a shootout. 1. I think the defense picked it up a bit this game. Much better at boxing out and not letting up many golden opportunities. The Goal tending in this game was by far the problem

  2. they were sloppy all night, the standards for this team's play need to be higher or we're just going to keep saying that creating a lot of scoring chances is all you need…they didn't even start creating offense until the 2nd period

  3. Todd McLellan's OT lineups (after a game where Kane/Cat were dominant, the Wings led 4-0 w Kane on the ice, and the two had both scored in the 3rd to force OT in the first place):

    Larkin – Raymond

    Compher – DeBrincat

    Kane – Finnie

    Todd McLellan's shootout lineup:

    James van Riemsdyk

    Lucas Raymond

??? (presumably Kane – we will never know, will we?)

  4. Same old story we can finish we can’t hold a lead we can’t miss the net we can’t finish oh we can’t fin – oh bad d play 2 goals against 2 mins same old 😊

  5. Why the hell did we put JVR out there first shot?
Their goalie was terrible glove side all game and you have 4 elite shooters in Larkin Raymond Cat and Kane, why not throw all of them in front of JVR?
