Joe Burrow Is Back To SAVE The Bengals Season
What percent is credit do you give Joe Burrow for for that win? I’m going to go 99%. Fair. Super fair. Just on presence alone. Yeah. As a Keeb always says about a quarterback. You’re getting dressed for a game in the locker room and you look over and you say, “Nine is back. We we got nine tonight. We got Joe.” And all of a sudden the defense just comes back alive. and whatever talent there was on the defense suddenly got maximized last night where I said, “Oh, yeah, he was there. He was where’s he been?” Oh, and and where’s he been? And all of a sudden, and they didn’t even have tea last night. They they didn’t have T I H I H I H I H I H I H I H I H I H I Higgins. And they will have him back. And I don’t know about Trey. It sounds strange to them, but whatever. So, they had been allowing 33 points a game, by far the worst. And they hold Baltimore to 14 points. That’s That’s ridiculously good on the road in a big Thanksgiving night game. And they had 10 takeaways through the first 11 games. Wait, and then they have five in a big Thursday night game against a division rival at Baltimore. I I give Joe a lot of that credit just because he’s Joe Burrow and he didn’t put up great numbers. If you look, it’s 2446. So, he’s only 52% for 261, which is pretty good. Yeah, two touchdowns, no interceptions. QBR was 60, so it was just above average, but no interception after weeks. I I got it. And and he missed some throws, but did he make a couple? Went up the boundary to chase a default that just dropped it down the chimney and then to Yosvage on the post. I’m like, I mean, that’s just a Joe Burrow throw where I just sat back and said, there’s it that they are back in business. And it it was kind of Dallasesque to me where the the switch just flipped all of a sudden just because nine’s in the huddle. And I had so much fun watching him operate. There’s there’s nobody who pleases my eye more than watching Joe Burrow play quarterback with the swagger he plays quarterback. So I got to go all the way to 99% just on presence alone. Yeah. Go ahead. I was going to say 80%. Okay. I mean, smoking Joe Cool, he’s the man. He’s the man. And when you have that type of aura, that type of confidence, it just oozes on to the rest of the team. They’re just so happy to have him back. Like you said, it made the defense play better. The defense had nothing to do with nothing, but it made them play better. But the turnovers, man, Lamar Jackson, the fumbles, you fumbling, you five turnover. Sometimes you just got to take the sack, right, Cody? just take the sack one where it slips out his hand and both of them were in their own territory. It just puts you up, it sets you up for failure, it puts the defense in a terrible situation. We already know their defense isn’t very good. So Joe did exactly what he’s supposed to do is capitalize on those situations. Even though they only got three, they scored 12 points off of those those drives in the first half where they could have easily scored a touchdown. Yeah. So that’s why I wouldn’t say, you know, 99 is high as you because you got to get in the end zone on those plays. But, you know, the Ravens, I don’t know what’s going on, but Lamar just has to stop turning the ball over. That’s why I didn’t give them higher. But 80%, you know, uh, is definitely Joe’s responsibility for that, man. Yeah, I’m a little bit lower than both of you. I’m going to go 60% and then give 40% to that defense as well. I’m going 60% to Bro and the offense, 40% to the defense. Because of that, they weren’t very good in the red zone. They could have been better in the red zone. But I want to start with this. I thought that quote that he said was so cool. The fact that and and you I’m sure you’ve heard it before. before we hear it all the time is that you get paid a lot of money to play a kids game, you know, and and and when you have that perspective and that mentality at the quarterback position of all positions, guys can feel that and they feed off of that and they want to be around that type of leader. When you’re not coming out playing for clicks and playing for for money and and worried about yourself and your own stats, you just worry about being a dog and being out there with your guys. He easily could have waited a couple more weeks instead of having to put a steel plate in his damn cleat to go out there with a 1% chance to make the playoffs and go put everything he has on the line to play for his guys. Guys want to play for that. So that alone right there gets half the credit. And then how he played I thought early on, you know, he missed some throws that was that was expected getting back into a rhythm. some of the timing routes, some of the spot routes were fine, but the out routes, the timing routes, some of those shots downfield to Jamar, he wasn’t connecting quite with him and and you know, you expect that early on, which I you know what surprised me a lot though is that they came out rolling out a lot, get him out of the pocket the first, you know, drive. I think he rolled out three or four times and started moving. I don’t know if that was them wanting to see how he felt with it or Yeah. or saying, “Hey, look, you can do this. You’re good to go. Let’s build that confidence.” When you go through those first 15 throughout the week at practice, you’re running those plays over and over and over again. What plays do you feel best with? It surprised me that those plays he felt best with were rollouts and getting outside of the pocket. So that was good to see. But once he got in a rhythm, made some big time big time throws. That touchdown to Tanner Hudson, their tied end on the back shoulder over Kyle Hamilton. Big time playatch. If you saw, they were bunched inside. He he gets outside, hesitates a little bit, and the run’s almost like a delayed wheel route on Hamilton, who’s a hell of a football player. Burrow has to escape the pocket on the run, throws a great back shoulder throw, and then that play to Yosi Vos. That is high level stuff. Third and n you see that, too. That’s what that’s that Baltimore defense, that Wink Martindale, that that that defense that they’ve had for so long, the the Mike McDonald, and now you have Zachary or they have double A gaps, and Hamilton was one of the A gap defenders, and then they have both guys on the outside looking like pressure. basically seven or eight guys in the line of scrimmage. Burrow recognizes that. What do you do with double A gap pressure? You bring a tight end or a running back in to block one of those A gaps. You send the line the other way. You bring Sample in, puts him in the left a gap, but the most important thing he did was bring in Samaji Perine for protection. I don’t know what exactly you’re doing, but I know that I’m going to get to a sevenman protection and check so that I know I’m good to go. And you can see Baltimore trying to play that cat-and- mouse game. They check out, start hitting their helmets. Well, what do they do? They end up showing the double A gap. They bring Marlon Humphrey. Now off that side, they bring the left a gap and then they also bring the safety backside and Pine is on the right side. He does a hell of a job. He recognizes that I have my responsibility, but I also have everyone else. And if you go back and watch it on tape, he saves that play. He sees the safety backside. He looks, goes underneath Burrow, gets a piece of him just to knock him off. And then Burrow recognizes that Roan Smith is bailing out. He has to throw it over him under the safety to Yoshi. It was a dime to be able to come back in your first game and just without a without missing a beat, dissect what they’re doing on defense, bring in change the protection, put sample in the A gap, and then throw a dot to Yos Vos and that type of play. It’s just it’s big time. So, I got to give him a lot of credit. But to your point, the defense I think the defense played really good, man. I got to give you missed that block on that sack by Humphrey earlier. So, he redeemed himself. He did cuz he stepped up too far and missed the was a nasty split. But that wasn’t that wasn’t the Wait, who missed the block? Perfect. Oh, Peron. Yeah. Well, so this time that wasn’t their original call though. You see them do this. So they’re checking the play at the line trying to go back and forth, but you know that the line has that right a gap out. They’re going to go to the widest as soon as he leaves. We’re working to the widest which was Maron Humphrey. But Samaji P it’s so tough as a running back in those situations too because your responsibility is who your backer is to everyone else. You have all secondary and for him to see that you can see him look over to see the safety come on the backside to get over there to pick it up that that made the play. But that’s credit to Burl to putting them in the right spot to to win. They were killing clock late. I’ve never seen a quarterback do this. He starts yelling out the clock early six. We got time. We got time. That’s just being careful. You don’t want to jump off sides. You don’t want to get a false start. You don’t want to do anything. But I never I never seen that. Well, so what they call they go they’ll go milk, right? So you get up there and you know that you don’t want to snap it until at least 3 seconds. Well, when guys get up there with 15 seconds left, they’re holding their water, getting, you know, anticipation. That’s just being a leader, man. Joe Cool. Hey, calm down. Relaxed. Hey, Ted, which is our center, Ted. I was with him in New England. Hell of a offensive lineman. But Ted, we got 15 here. Wait a second. Hey, eight, six, or seven, six, five. I’m going to count it down. Let’s snap it. Let’s take some time off. That that’s Hey, that’s what you want, man. That’s a leader. That That’s That’s important stuff. What I love to watch just on television is Joe taking the snap. And to your point, it’s it’s it’s just such high IQ in in such warp speed where you can just see his eyes shift. Boom. Boom. I think I’ll do Oh, I’m going to do that. Yeah. And and it’s not like he has a cannon. But but he can when he needs to, he’ll put a little extra mustard on it. But he’s just throwing sweet passes that that are just right there. He’s picking the right place, right time with the right throw. Yeah. And it’s just hard to keep doing that. I just love to watch him sort of control a football game. And again, thanks in large part to the Ravens. He controlled the game from start to finish. I was just in awe of it, but not every and like calling it the Ravens, sure, but we’ve seen the Ravens recently. They’ve been better make quarterbacks struggle with those same third down looks, but Joe Burrow coming out, he is now three games this year as Joe Burrow and they’re three and zero with Joe Burrow. Thank you. And what is it? One and eight with with anybody else. Well, yeah, but they had Browning also took a couple of those loss. But um let’s look at the Ravens. Also beautiful explanation, Cody. You really dissect the game so well. I just I I always want to make sure people understand just how high level that is instead of just a play happening. Oh, a great throw to Yos Vos game. Like no, there’s so many games within the game. You give us a quarterback match levels. Yeah. So, I hope I hope it explained right. But yeah, no, I enjoy that. But let Yeah, let’s talk about the other quarterback now because the Ravens, they were coming off

Joe burrow fans back lmao he not him guys
All these people in the comments ainโt real bengals fans probably been talking down all season
Fem Skip sucks…why is he still relevant ๐ฎ
You're silly
Just like last year and just like next years slow start/injury prone Bengals, they'll miss the playoffs by 1 loss… that's why you don't lose to winless teams and rookie QBs… and why you don't give teams like KC the ability to control YOUR destiny by tanking the final week to keep you out of the playoffs
Baltimore, by far, lost that game. What are you saying? Donโt be mad if the Bengals win 1 or 2 more.
Flacco did an outstanding job while starting
I gotta agree about Joe boosting the whole team. The defense definitely came alive ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
So many stupid MFs in the comments with zero football knowledge
So the defense watched Flacco play out of his mind to beat the Steelers and said โnahhh I mean that ainโt 9โ๐ญ
The bootleg version of Gil's Arena๐ญ
To be fair, the D has played very well in the last 3 games. But yeah, Burrow's presence is absolutely nuts! And the OL is ranked 11th in pass protection, which is pretty awesome.
Kensi so cute
Why did he call flacco fluke-o? That's messed up, flacco played great every game.
Lets not pretend this win was because of Joe Burrow. Joe was cheeks in comparison to what he can do. The reality is, the defense made this game – something I'm surprised I'm saying cuz the standard for our defense is cheeks. Happy to see him back but the defense will have to continue playing better in order to have a chance to win the division. Lets not forget that under Joe Flacco, he averaged 27 points per game and still only came out with 1 win.
Coaching! Coaching staff. If your saying the bengals showed up when burrow came back, then I gotta ask, why that is? Where are they every game? That's coaching. Zak. Then, how do you explain a crap defense in the beginning of the season, then they play good but then suck when its not on prime time. Zak Taylor is trash.
Iโm born n raised in Cincinnati, est 1964 n letโs be honest about the Bengals, Until they sell the team n get new ownership that really wants to win a championship n not just fill seats to make money n disappoint our City year after year n we also need a new head coach , weโve got the best Quarterback in the NFL n we are just wasting his talent in this city with this coach n the owners.
Thereโs plenty of people in Cincinnati that can afford to buy the team n bring a Championship to this city Iโm sick n tired of the same bs year after year !
Is she just on here for EYE CANDY โค
5:23 all time analysis from Cody Kessler. Fight on โ๏ธ
Joe 18-4 in his career for dec-jan
Also 8-0 in his last 8 games played (if you wanna count jax) 7-0 if not
Eagles fan here, outside of Hurts, Burrow is my fav QB. He's elite, no doubt about it.
60% DEF 20% SPECIAL TEAMS AND 20% BURROW. 5 TOs BYE DEFENSE… 6 for 6 and they should have kicked it after the gift TO at the 3… Money Mac should have been 7 for 7… Over half of the points came from the kicker…. Defense kept the game close when the offense settled for FGs and eventually they just dominated the Ravens Offense. If this game was a shootout I doubt Burrow wins this game alone especially them settling for FGs so often… Defense was so dominant… Kicker not missing a kick was a big part of the game…
