‘ More Moves INCOMING… Report Reveals HUGE Red Sox Updates
More moves are incoming for the Boston Red Sox as a brand new report reveals major Red Sox updates surrounding their upandcoming offseason plans, including bigname stars like Pete Alonzo and Alex Bregman. I’m here to break down the reports and the likelihood the Red Sox go out and sign, if not one, both of these big names this off seasonason and what that would mean going forward in competition with teams like the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays who continue to get better this off seasonason. We’ll break down all of that on this episode of Red Sox Digest. But first, please do remember, scroll down and smash that subscribe button to stay up to date with everything Boston Red Sox. It is a crazy part of the year and there’s going to be moves happening very, very quickly once the winter meetings begin in just the following week. So again, make sure you’re staying up to date with everything Red Sox by subscribing and helping us hit our new goal of 10,000 subscribers. We do appreciate it. But now, let’s get to it and break down Alonzo and Bregman to Boston. This is something we’ve discussed a lot on this channel up to this point in the offseason, but now we have new reports from the one and only, the most beloved human being on the planet, Jim Bowden. Sarcasm. Uh, and he goes on to break down a lot of things that are going to be activated around the winter meetings, including bigname stars like Pete Alonzo and Alex Bregman. We’re going to start with Bregman. The reason being is because we have already gotten a taste of Bregman. He played his first year outside of the Houston Astros organization this past season with none other than the Boston Red Sox as we all know. And where he was good, he wasn’t great. If you look at the war, it wasn’t his best year at third base. Injuries were a factor, age was a factor, and the inability to find his rhythm and stay in that groove because of the injuries to his hamstring and his quad were a problem and were a factor. You have to acknowledge that. But you can’t really put a band-aid over this the entirety of this season. If we look at the numbers, his OPS has finally dropped below a,000 for his career in Fenway Park because well, this past year it went down a little bit. He had a 781 OPS this past year in Fenway specifically. we all knew or know coming into this past season that it was above a thousand in his lifetime career in Fenway Park for no shocking reason. He is a monster of a hitter and last season it just didn’t all click and I think the injuries had a lot to do with it. But could we see him return to Boston and possibly be paired with someone like Pete Alonzo? Well, based off reports and before we even get to the article, John Haymon, a different name, John Haymon went out there and said that the Red Sox are considering signing up to two of these five big name lineup in enhancements on uber popular Kyle Schwarber, plus Peter Lonzo, Kazuma, Au Aakumoto, and JT Ramuto, as well as last winter’s big pickup, Alex Bregman. That is from John Heymon. That’s the end of the quote. So, all five of these names seem to be in the realm of possibility for the Boston Red Sox. It comes down to who are they going to sign, and that is why we’re focusing on Alex Bregman and Pete Alonzo because based off of Jim Bowden’s comments, it feels like these two are the most likely to land in Boston. Bowden would go on to say Bregman, 31, opted out of his contract with the Red Sox earlier this offseason because he would like a long-term deal to finish his career with one team. He’d love that team to beat Boston, but it remains to be seen whether the Red Sox are willing to offer him the kind of long-term deal he’s seeking. Bregman was important to the Red Sox last season, not just because of what he did on the field, but because of his leadership qualities and willingness to help develop their young players at the major league level. This is spoton. You’ve heard me just screaming on top of the mountain tops over and over and over again. This is far bigger than the overall statistical production of Alex Bregman on the diamond when he is off the diamond in those hotel rooms playing away games against the New York Yankees against whoever it might be and he’s calling meetings with pitchers and catchers at 3:00 in the morning to game plan and to figure things out and to just straighten things out and to make sure these youngsters like Carlos Nvas, Brian Bale, Connley Early, Payton Tolley, the list goes on of all these young guys and obviously The list doesn’t end there. Cample, Anthony, Meyer, the There are so many young pieces on this team that can always continue to learn as everyone can. And Alex Bregman is that guy. Alex Bregman has the ability to go out there and teach from what he has known, what he has learned, and what he continues to be in Boston. He Bregman Beers, Samuel Adams, it worked. The It was great marketing. He fit in. He everyone adored the idea. Everyone adored the the entire just prospect of it. And the idea that he wouldn’t be a part of Boston next season just seems criminal. And I know he’s looking for more years and he wants to ride out into the sunset with one team for the remainder of this career. But it just finds if it’s very hard for me to believe that there’s a world in which Bregman does not return to Boston. As uh Bowman said, it is it it seems like the Red Sox are the clear-cut fit and it seems like they is a match that has already been made. It’s just a matter of time until a contract is presented that Bregman can feel comfortable signing. Now, Bowden would go on to finish that piece with. However, there are several contending teams that Bregman would be a differencemaker for if he signs with any of them, including the Tigers, Phillies, Mariners, Yankees, Mets, and Blue Jays, as well as non-contending teams like the Angels and Pirates. His free agency is going to be a mustwatch during the winter meetings. Again, the winter meetings start in the following what, four days. I believe today’s the fourth. The next four days, the winter meetings will be taking place and all hell is going to break loose. And if you think I’m kidding, I’m not. It feels like the second the winter meetings start, all of these guys are going to get together. They’re going to start having conversations and it it’s going to be like that ticking time bomb and just the just the poke of the with the needle to the balloon. And it’s just it’s an onset everything. And the reason being is because these guys are going to get together and they’re going to have these conversations, these or these guys involved in these organizations, guys that have been a part of these organizations that are in positions to go out there and make moves. Bregman. Again, the underlying metrics were not phenomenal last year. Again, it was the polar opposite of basically every other uh Boston Red Sox baseball player outside of Roman Anthony because everyone on the everyone on the team it felt like in the chase percentage, whiff percentage, K percentage, base on balls percentage were all vastly below league average and then everything above it was decent about league average if not better. Alex Bregman the polar opposite again. great at not striking out, great at working walks, great at not expanding the strike zone, but when it came down to average, how hard he was hitting the ball, how many times he was barreling the baseball, it didn’t really work out. And you look at the spray chart in the top right, absolutely peppering the monster, something we all know and love that he can do. It just can he continue to do it at a high enough level where they want to extend him for a certain amount of years, what could be five, six, even seven years to rally out the end of his career. So we continue our last thing the war 3.5 war which was fourth on the team playing third base in comparison to guys like Son Raphaela the best defensive center fielder in the league Jiren Durant a left fielder and then Garrett Crochce the co-runner up or the runner up in the AL Sai Young race only to Terk Scooel so it was a good year wasn’t a great year for Alex Begman who could they go out there and acquire with him or who could they go out and pivot to if they didn’t want to go out and acquire Bregman well outside of the position ition need in that third base because there is a lot of flexibility with this Red Sox team. First base is another huge topic of conversation and Pete Alonzo is the second biggest name if not the biggest name that has been told or has been told to us that is in very much in connections and basically a perfect fit for the Red Sox. Again, Bowden would go on to say, “After landing a short-term deal in his first uh feray into free agency last winter, Alonzo 30 is looking for a longer uh longerterm contract this time around. And if the Mets don’t step up, he could couldn’t find himself with a new organization for the first time in his professional career. Alonzo has played 152 games or more in every non-pandemic shortened season. He’s been in the big leagues including all 162 last or all 162 games last in each of the last two seasons with the Mets. He had uncharacteristically quiet 2024 season but rebounded with 41 doubles to lead the National League in 2025. There are several teams besides the Mets who are potentially shopping for the first baseman, including the Red Sox, Pirates, Reds, Angels, Rays Nationals, Diamondbacks, Rockies, and Twins. However, his two most likely landing spots remain the Mets and the Red Sox. a lot of teams in on Pete Alonzo and it’s no surprise Pete Alonzo is a freak and I have his underlying metrics somewhere that I’m going to find you in just a second. There they are. Polar opposite of what we just saw with Alex Bregman. Literally like it couldn’t be more appropriately just just opposites. Now he plays first base. His war is usually really really good for a first baseman, which is hard to do. If you look at the spray chart, he hits it everywhere and he hits the ball outlandishly hard every time. It feels like he barrels a baseball and he is sending it a country mile. But again, the and this is more appropriate for the Red Sox based off of last year. The defense was eh last year for Alonzo. It wasn’t great. It was good, but it wasn’t great at first base. That fits in with Boston. Mediocre defensively. And then if you look at the overall offensive production, he hits the crap out of the ball. The average is honestly higher than what we’re accustomed to in Boston. But the barrel percentage, the hard hit percentage are all correlating. But then you look at the chase whiff K percentage and walk percentage, it all makes sense. Guys like Son Raphael and all these youngsters outside of Roman Anthony all mimic this same underlying metrics. The whiff percentage, the K percentage, the strikeout percentage, the lack of walks, all correlating together. He’s a match made in heaven for Boston. Unfortunately, Boston needs to correct those things as well. But if they can add Pete Alonzo, they would definitely be an improvement without a shadow of a doubt. Anyone who argues against that is crazy because of the lack or because of the production Peter Allonzo can bring you, especially in Fenway. Look at this spray chart. He can hit the ball anywhere. As a right-handed hitter, he’s going to have the ability to pull the baseball and hit it off that monster and over that monster at a obscene rate. It could be a really really good match uh really good match made between these two parties if this is something that ends up happening. But in the end, it feels like these are the two most lucrative and two most dominant names that could be in connections to the Red Sox to have the most likelihood of landing in Boston because of the match and the overall just scheme that it’s going to figure work out to. Let me know down below. Do you think the Red Sox should finish out this off seasonason by signing both Pete Alonzo and Alex Bregman and calling it a day? Or is there much more to be done? And or do you think they should go in a different direction with the bats? Do you think they should go sign someone rather than Alex Bregman or rather than Pete Alonzo or rather than both of these guys? Please let me know down below. I would love to see what your overall thoughts and opinions are and I will see you guys on the next episode of Red Sox Digest.

Just finished watching your video from last night. keep killing it!
My prediction:
Red Sox sign just one of Alonso, Bregman or Murakami and fill the second infield position with a trade headlined by Duran.
Casas can crush and play 1B on a cheap contract no need to upgrade at the moment. Bregman is a must sign for 3B. Schwarber at DH would be huge. Find a #2 to bolster the rotation. Breggy, Schwarby & a #2 ….that's all we need.
Sign both
I'd like both Bregman and Alonso. Breslow is working quietly so we have no idea what is happening so we'll have to wait and see but trying to be optimistic
