While this shows the Flyers are playing well, it needs to be pointed out that the met / east is just crazy close.
Just 3 points separate 1st in the east and the 2nd wild card spot!
This feels like a season where it’s going to come down to who just stays the healthiest team wise gets in with the East so stupidly close.
Win, lose, or draw – we all wanted to see the team show some growth and progress this season and I think we’ve seen it. Playoffs would be nice but even if they hit a hard patch and we fall hard back to earth, I still like the progress I’ve seen and the vision for the future.

Hell should bleed into the playoffs section. Simply making the playoffs is meaningless. I’d rather miss the playoffs and pick 14 than make it, lose in round 2 and pick 22-25. Cinderella runs don’t really happen anymore, it’s time to be realistic about how best to set this franchise up to win what really matters.
I never thought we’d be looking this good so far into the season. That said, the Metro and East as a whole is tight as hell. Finishing anywhere from 3rd to 13th in the East feels somehow realistic.

2013- Nerlens motherfuckin Noel & MCW. Wooho. But supposed to be FOUNDATIONAL PIECES… Could’ve had that Greek dude tho…
2014- We were supposed to get Wiggins. We didn’t. We got that Embiid dude … who has such a beautiful Resume on Wikipedia… but has pretty much NOT PLAYED for us more than he HAS played for us, and never actually won anything other than Accolades… I mean I want to love him but …
2015- We’re in the middle of a Pure Tank-a-thon, and we don’t get #1, we don’t get KAT or even Russell, we get Jersey-tossing Jahlil. Woohoo son! We *gave him away* and his career was so bad, his Wikipedia page is devoted to his HIGH SCHOOL and *COLLEGE* Career. Not, you know, the NBA. Because he never really… But that KAT dude…
2016- Woohoo, we get BENEDICT SIMMONS, who *never wanted to play for us to begin with* , and let’s not even go there, I don’t even want to type out that shit…
2017 Except it gets even worse with whatever his name is , Fultz or some shit? The shooting in the chair, etc. I heard (seriously) that he regularly kisses his Mom on the lips. Like, all the time.
<if anyone is keeping score, we could have had Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum. They’re pretty good…>
Let’s not go there with 2018, 2019 … didn’t work out…
And by the time we got Maxey in 2021, which admittedly, is The Steal Of The Draft, amirite??! – we were supposed to BEEN winning Championships. But no… that’s not how we do things in Philly…
So the people who talk TANK- there is ONE REASON ON PLANET EARTH for the Flyers to Tank – and his name is Gavin McKenna. Other than that, whatever the Big D from UND is named, again would be a case of “Clooooose but no Cigar brosephs & hoesephs…”
we can make the Yoffs. just need to stay consistent, get big games out of vlad, get big games out of the top 9, but for the love god dont start buying at the first sniff of playoffs. let this team ride it out so you know exactly what youre missing. they can live or die on their own accord, their own merit and then its probably an easier bandaid to pull off next year when u trade someone.
all this talk of culture doesnt really reconcile with the idea that someone doesnt fit in as soon as the team sees a modicum of success. but thats not good business talk,
