Id read the article but this poor boy cant afford it. But I cant imagine any team will have interest at this point.
He’s 22 – 23 years young and was a 6th round draft pick. My guess is that someone will take a chance on him.
In the original article he denied doing anything more than just “joking” around with teammates. It sounds like he admitted now that he had mental health issues and may have actually tipped off pitches, etc… to get his team eliminated from the playoffs in 2024 and end their season early.
If I recall correctly, the team needed to win 1 or 2 games out of it’s last 3 to make the playoffs and they lost all 3 – he was the catcher in 2 of the 3 losses.
I doubt this guy ever sees the MLB so the question is does he want to go through the grind that is minor league life? Can’t recall what the salaries are but it’s a tough go nonetheless.
Who would want to be his teammate at this point?
With the emerging betting fraud, I don’t know how any professional team would want to take a risk on this guy.
I think he is a perfect fit for the Twins. He screws over his team like the Pohlad’s and he basically will cost nothing. I say Drop Buxton and throw him in.
