Yep. Gibbs is electric and a home run threat at any time. But Monty finds a way to make one cut and get you the first down.
I wish we’d start him, so he can beat up the defense early, like the past 2 seasons. Gibbs is arguably the best RB in the league, but I like D-Mo making it that much easier for him.
Monty between the tackles makes people miss and slip and not hit him square, perfect complement to Gibbs insane speed threat outside the tackles. They both had TDs showcasing their skills yesterday
The fact it takes an entire D-Line to take monty down every time he’s carrying the ball is cinema.
Monty has a very low center of gravity. By every metric Gibbs is better but put a ball in his hands and Monty will get you yards. But I get how hard it is to take a guy like Gibbs off the field.
“It’s got wabi sabi”
It kind of feels that we have a starter pack version of Emmit Smith and Barry Sanders. Those two are all time legends for sure, but Barry always got grief for dancing around on short yardage and emmit just got it done. We have a special pair of backs for sure.
Love Gibbs, but DMo needed more carries last night, especially in the 4th. He was gashing them.
DMo is such a dawg. He is definitely my favorite player on the roster. It helps that we are both Eagle Scouts and he’s been such a good advocate for the program, which it needs.
Without a doubt, he is way underutilized this season, and I don’t understand it at all.
Using them as a team is so obviously the move that it makes me think there was some behind the scenes issues that kept Monty out for so long this season.

The return of #5 was such a comfort last night
I get it… but CMC doesn’t split time, Saquon doesn’t split time. Gibbs is on their level. Monty is amazing and this isn’t about him, it’s about how good Gibbs is.
Wow saying Monty is better than Gibbs? That’s a hot take
They are both better because they have each other.
For me it comes down to feeling out who is getting it done against each opponent on the fly. Love that Gibbs got three tds yesterday – but he also had a lot of runs for negative yards. Ended up under 4y/carry. Dmo was clearly breaking through to the second level more easily, and it felt puzzling to see them not exploit that more.
Yeah I really didn’t understand some towards the end why Monty was standing next to coach Dan instead of being in there and pounding down on that defense. Kept waiting for him to switch over.
That’s how I feel about any back we’ve had since Swifty.
Wish he was still a Lion.
It doesn’t have to be either or. This year has really been more Gibbs than Monty, whereas the story last year was Sonic & Knuckles. But just because Gibbs is playing dominant doesn’t mean Monty can’t also be a playmaker as well.
I’m stoked to have them both. I just wish they would run two RB sets. Especially with how well these guys catch the ball. It could really introduce some unpredictability to the play book.
They might as well convert Gibbs to receiver at this point
It really feels like they took control of the game when they went to the big package with Monty. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come. They are better when they balance the two backs

I think they’re both great.
