I get the point he was “trying” to make, but the situations are also far more nuanced than he apparently has the cognitive ability to comprehend. He makes Nick Young look smart. Erik Spoelstra and Riley’s Heat culture gets all the credit from national media. They are perceived as the superstars of the franchise, not the players. Only LeBron and Wade were able to override that. Even Jimmy was perceived as a Spo/culture merchant regardless of his masterclass performances in the playoffs.

It has been said before more elegantly by other NBA reporters and insiders ie “ it is hard to evaluate players on the heat because it is hard to know what’s the player and what’s due to Spo and the Heat culture.” That makes some GM’s concerned about trading for players from the Heat especially given how others have been burnt in the pass.
