Indianapolis Colts’ Kenny Moore II Explains Where His Philanthropic Spirit Comes From

This being your third time. It’s obviously not a mistake. Where did you Where did this like life of service? Where did that start? It started in the home. Started in the home. Uh my grandmother and my mother, they were always uh givers. You know, my home life kind of started with, you know, being a refuge for family members or people that we met in the community. They would stay with us throughout my life. uh at home. We had a guest room downstairs and that kind of you know led me to expand my art of of how to serve uh without you know expecting anything from anybody else. From there they had us in church every Sunday and um you know having seven kids you kind of make up a big portion of some of the things that they asked to do. So we were a part of a youth uh young people’s division um at the St. Paul Methodist uh that I went to uh back in Bela, Georgia. And that led to expanding and having a reminders throughout the church and things that we were able to do over the course of a of a year of um ushering choir. Um we would give out food to the homeless every Sunday before church um at Sunday school. So those things led to you know doing things at school and sports. Uh we were reading to schools uh read across of America. Um from then on from leaving Belosa Georgia I had a lot of great teachers and coaches uh over my years in Bela Georgia that I just wanted to go on a journey of appreciating them and showing them that you know all the work that they p poured into me everything that they instilled wasn’t in vain. So, um I remember going back to my high school and middle school while I was at college at Ala State, just show just telling them, you know, I appreciate it or writing them letters or, uh giving them a pair of gloves whenever I made it here. So, um I think those reminders are always um great for the teacher, for the educators and coaches, just letting them know that like one of their students or one of their players, uh didn’t take that
