Mike Tomlin understands fans’ frustrations

What is it like for you personally when they’re calling for you to go? You know, um, in general, I agree with them. Um, from this perspective, um, football is our game. We’re in the sport entertainment business. And so, um, if you root for the Steelers, entertaining them is winning. And so, when you’re not winning, it’s not entertaining. And if you’ve been in this business, you understand that. And so, I respect it. Um, I share frustrations. Um, I understand what makes this thing go.

  10. He laughs because he knows Steelers will go on to have a losing season the next 5+ seasons most likely. Not his fault, fans don't know or value a great coach. If he goes, he will just be a head coach on another NFL team until he decides to retire

    It’s not about entertaining.
    It’s not about entertainment.
    It’s about winning.
    It’s about being able to change the defense, the offense on the go
    The Baltimore Ravens ran all over the Steelers in last year’s playoff games and at halftime they couldn’t do anything about it
    Then this past week with the Buffalo Bills, running all over them broke records against the Steelers against running against the Steelers.
    Couldn’t fix it knew it was coming couldn’t fix it.
    Don’t make it about entertaining.
    I grew up playing football and baseball and I didn’t think about anybody watching me. I wasn’t thinking about impressing anybody.
    I just went out there to play play my best. I loved to play. It didn’t matter if I played Street ball.
    Yeah, I have to pay to watch you play because that’s the market.
    But I ain’t worried about being entertained I wanna win and be competitive

  14. He should have been gone a long time ago the Steelers have become a joke! Haven't won a playoff game in 9 YEARS. HE WAS HIRED BECAUSE HE'S BLACK HE ISNT FIREE BECAUSE HE'S BLACK!

  16. I respect this about Tomlin, he addreses reality. A lot of us Ravens fans are tired of Harbaugh but his fragile ego would never allow him to acknowledge that he has underachieved as Tomlin is able to do here.

  20. It's hard to not like Mike. His leadership and approach is unwavering. You can see why he's kept his job for this long. But change is necessary for both sides. Either stay relevant and compete or stay and tarnish your legacy. Breakups are always messy. Just look at the Patriots and so many others in this business 😅

  23. As a Steelers fan I fucking hate the disgusting ravens but I am rooting for them this week we need those chants to continue going and force the weakling of the Rooney family to make a change

  25. So stop talking laughing etc and fire yourself! I remember seeing him sitting at a convention with Andy Reid .. When he should of been sitting with Eberflus and Mike McDaniel

  26. With the NFL becoming a passing league over time and then making a big stride towards this in 2018 I don't think Tomlin can compete with more offensive passing oriented coaches. He is a defensive coach and he played as linebacker, I don't think he is the right coach for QB's or WR's.
