I don’t like these kind of posts where they compare 3 different stats to 3 different players. But this is pretty crazy to see.
I love gibbs but I do think important context is that Gibbs had the better offensive line play (excluding this year) over sanders.
Sorry for the grammar being all butchered. I had a long week, and I’m high for first time today. Just wanted to share this. Gibbs has been wild with the numbers. I don’t pay attention to them. But this is pretty nuts.
Dude is eligible for an extension for the first time this off-season, it’s expected it will be the highest value contract for an RB in NFL history
And he’s platooning with Knuckles, although, not so much this year

Just another Brad Holmes draft reach. Just imagine where we would be if we had paid attention to positional value and didn’t draft a RB and LB in the 1st round of the 2023 Draft.

I wish Montgomery was still getting a slightly higher percentage of the workload. I feel like that has helped with Gibbs YPC.
Remember people were mad when we had swift and drafted him (Gibbs) on the first round? I member those same people were calling for goffs head at thanksgiving this year. 😒
And they limited his rookie snaps for the first 6 games of his career.
Plus he got lited use his first year or two

Gibbs is a badass no doubt, but it’s always pretty dubious seeing someone compare ypc with Barry Sanders. He played with some absolute trash Lions teams where everyone knew Barry would be a large part of the offense every game & defenses focused on him every play he was on the field. He also played with very weak o lines. He was just so damn good that it didn’t matter. Imo if you put Barry Sanders behind the Oline we had the past two seasons I think he’s ypc would be waaaaaay higher & we’d prob have a Super Bowl. Barry is the GOAT

And think the guy behind him is very good too so Montgomery gets a fair share of the reps. Imagine Gibbs’ stat line if he was the only “real” rb on the team?
