Nils Höglander & Head Coach Adam Foote Pre-Game Media | Canucks vs. Mammoth (Dec 5, 2025)

How hard has it been to sit and watch, especially after, you know, the the strong start to camp you had and everything like that? Yeah, it always sucks to get injured and especially this long. So, um, yeah, it sucks to sit in Pressbox and watch every game. So, yeah, I’m happy to be back now. How are you feeling? Really good. How far away are you, you figure for game action? See, next week, maybe if I’m ready. Yeah. I mean, you It’s hard for players to miss uh the start of years. We’ve seen that from the best players in the world. What do you have to do to try to get up to speed as quick as possible? What’s the hardest part? Yeah, it is. Um, feels like I’ve been working hard. Like I’ve been skating couple weeks now. So, um, I’m feel pretty ready to go go and play. So, I mean, just bounce back where I left in in camp. So, I think I could do pretty good. you’ve had a up top view I guess if you’re watching games from up there at least during what what have you seen from your team uh that you’ve liked at least or and what do you think you just as a team need to improve on going forward here? I mean has been a little bit tough tough start here everyone knows but I feel like I can come with with a lot of speed in this team now and and for going and be hard on puck so um that’s where I think I I can step into it. How hard has it been as well? Not just sitting out games, but sitting out games with so many other guys that have been hurt, too. It’s been a tough go for this group. Yeah, I mean, we had a lot of injuries, but that’s what it it is what it is. Feels like happens in every team and happens every year. So, uh it is what it is, but now when we get back, we can just getting better. What exactly happened on the injury? It looked like you got hit in the neutral zone. Did your foot get caught up in some way or Yeah, I mean, I just got caught in the ice and and twisted my ankle. So, it was unlucky, but yeah. How much of the guys around you kind of helped you with your recovery? Uh, yeah. I mean, I talk with them every day, so it’s hasn’t been fun, but it’s Yeah, they helped me out. So, has been good. As a team, like, you know, it’s hard to be positive when you’re like literally today, you guys are last in a league. Um, how do you as as as a unit keep the keep the heartbeat up and keep the energy up when you know the natural thing is to be pretty disappointed how it’s gone? Yeah, I mean you just got to stay positive and and trust the process. I mean every team can turn around and I feel we have the chance to do it now and when we get back or Yeah. So just be positive and and trust the process here. What’s it been like the last little bit? You’ve been working a lot with Jason Crog as you kind of wrap up here for speed or what? Yeah, I mean I want to get back to my my quickness and speed and my shot and hard on pucks. So, that’s what I’ve been working a lot on. First time taking on Utah this season. What kind of game are we expecting between the two? They’re a really good rush team. They they play with speed. They hunt pucks. So, we’re going to be good in the neutral zone. Good good uh tracking back. They they’re a good team off the rush. Uh update on Garland. Is he Garland’s going tonight? Yeah. What about uh Pio and Evander after missing practice yesterday? Uh Pio is feeling a little bit better today. He probably won’t go. Kane will be really outside. He’s still feeling it. So I doubt even if he comes good tonight, he’s missed, you know, a couple days under under the weather here. So I doubt it’ll be a Lavan. Langston. Yep. Yep. So can we assume kind of the same lines we saw in practice yesterday? Yeah, I mean we might tweak it a little bit. Well, we’ll once we get to everyone confirmed who’s in, who’s out? I’m sure in training camp you didn’t think on December 5th you’d be 32nd in a league. How do you digest that going going forward knowing that you know Yeah, I mean there’s a lot I can answer that a thousand different ways, but like and I I won’t I I look at it more like we’re six points out of a playoff spot. This is a four-point night. These guys are holding it 29 points. We’re six behind them. so we can focus on this home stand before we go out to, you know, a trip to out east before Christmas. So, this is like no distractions, big game, understand what we’re up against. And, um, you know, with we we’ll look at it a different way where swings happen quickly here, you know, if you focus. Uh, and we got to look at positive. We’re getting some, uh, key players back as well off off a injuryridden start. So, that’s the way to look at that. Did anyone ask about Heedle yesterday or where he’s at? No one asked about Heedle. He had a few days on the ice where he started to feel better on the ice. So, that’s a positive sign for him. But, you know, those types of things um you want to take slow. Music.

  1. 🎯 Consensus Forecast:

73–78 points is the most statistically realistic outcome. For Canucks this season well below 95 that may be needed for playoffs
