Baldy’s Breakdowns: Giants Edition | Andrew Thomas | New York Giants
Andrew Thomas made his debut from a Liz Frank injury against the Chiefs. And here with John Ren, he has a backside cut off block on Chris Jones. Chris Jones, one of the best defensive tackles in the league. And he picks off everybody right here. So that Scataboo can bounce this into the end zone for a touchdown. And you can see the skip in Andrew Thomas’ step right there. That foot’s feeling good and he was feeling good. And then his first start the whole game was here against the Chargers. And so you watch this right here and it was just so consistent. Like he had never taken any time off. All right. Like you watch him just be able to hook this defensive end inside allow Singleary to come right off him. The run blocking was crisp. And then when you needed the tough yards, when they needed the tough yards, they ran behind Andrew Thomas right here. Like excellent job. You watch him like step little little power step and then snap. Watch him snap his hips. like when you snap the hips and then you just start climbing just walking your man right off the board and right there Jackson Dart goes right up right behind him for four yards on third and two and then on this play right here against the Eagles right Thursday night football Jackson Dart needed time and he gave him time like look at him reset his hands all right reset reset reset and then drop the anchor and just basically stop right here uh Jix hunt from coming so he can make that throw on the outside to little Jordan Humphrey. Okay, now you watch this right here. This is beautiful, beautiful stuff. Just blasting the whole open. Watch Stern, the the linebacker, just cave it all in like Tyrone Tracy walked into the end zone from 31 yards away right behind Andrew Thomas. That was great. Now on third and seven, watch the technique here against the Eagles. All right, bam. Josh, look at the hands. Look at the extension right here. Now look at that right there. I mean that ability just to literally stop the the the pass rusher from coming like stop his feet cold. All you can’t lock out any better than that. Nice throw on the outside. It’s a single right there. All right. Now you watch Bellinger and Andrew Thomas. Excellent combination right here. All right. That’s the way you do it. Now take your man off the off the ball and tie it all up and create the alley. All right. There it is. A nice runway for Tyrone Tracy to pick up 13 yards. This is fourth and three right here. Here he is going against Rashan Garry. All right, former first round pick, quality pass rusher right here. Fourth and three. You’ve got to be able to hold up. All right, like you see Rashan Gary going for his wrist. He resets his hands right to the chest plate. Now Jameus Winston James has time right here to step up and make this throw on the outside right there to Hodkins for a first down. Now, here they are. All right, four minutes to go. You’re down 2720. Trying to get back in the game. The thing you notice is he’s looking at John Michael Schmidz because you probably can’t hear right now. So, can you pop a run right here? Can you pop a run right behind Andrew Thomas? You pop one right there for 17 yards. Like trying to tie this game up late in the game. That was three and a half minutes ago. And then you watch this right here. You watch him against Hutch like this the set. The set like just don’t over set. Wait for him. All right. He’s going to try two hand swipe. Right. You stay attached to him though. You stay attached the whole way. All right. Run him around the arc and then James can make that throw on the outside to Sllayton. And then Monday Night Football here. Monday Night Football. All right. First down and 10. Again, look at the extension, the punch, right? That’s excellent job right there. Excellent job of controlling the man, being able to make that throw right there to to Sllayton for the 30- yard touchdown. Really get on the board right there. And then even this right here, you watch him and Singleary is going to cut right off right here. This is a big run. Like here he is like he’s stepping down with Renan. Okay. But then he comes up on Christian Ellis right here and he turns him inside. And where does Single Terry go? Right behind Andrew Thomas. Like he’s all the way back from that Liz Frank playing very consistent football right now. Been in there every play since he’s gotten in uh and started. It’s been uh it’s been a good run for both these tackles. Germaine Luminar and Andrew Thomas. Both they both have played at a high level.

ALL PRO AT
FIRE SCHOEN!
The offense is fine, the defense is whack though. Not in skill but maybe in scheme? Idk I'm not payed to know what the issue is.
Jason Garrett convinced the front-office to draft Thomas.
Best decision and draft pick the NYG in the past 10-15 years.
Bring Jason back to finish what he started as the Head Coach of the New York Football Giants.
Great breakdown, Baldy!!! It's a start. NY has a ways to go yet, but they'll get there. Thanks for the commentary. GO BLUE!!!
Schoen is incompetent.
