I I kind of shot down a caller in yesterday’s show who said this and in advance I’d like to apologize. There is a good chance everybody that the Yankees intent at this point on December 4th is to in fact be under the $300 million threshold. And I’m going to be as honest as I could possibly be here. According to K’s contracts, after all they’ve done and the expected arbitration numbers of people that they have on their roster, they’re at 279. If they intend to stay under 300, they are not getting Bellinger. They are not getting Tucker. they are not going to be able to make any significant move because if you look at the big salaries on the Yankees, who exactly can they move to create that salary space to bring in a 25 or $30 million contract, let’s just say on Bellinger and if it’s Tucker, a $40 million contract. Stanton’s unmovable. You can’t even think about moving Judge. You’re not moving Cole. You’re not moving Freed. I guess Rodon is somebody that you could consider. Are you gonna get top value? I that would clear about $26 million. He’s got three years left. He’s got three years left on his uh on his deal. Most of their money is locked into players that are not moving.

Or is this just public positioning as they negotiate? If this was their intent all along, then why would they have been saying they have an interest in bringing Bellinger back, or signing Imai? Something doesn't add up.
I've been saying this for the last few years. Hal has on a few occasions publicly said that he believes a franchise can win a world series under 300 million. He also said he has a responsibility to the shareholders. Right there he told you the shareholders are first and the fans are last. Hal is not committed to winning the world series. If I was Aaron judge I would ask for a train as long as he stays with the Yankees and Hal stays with this logic Aaron judge will not have a world series ring
If Hal goes cheap then the fans can, and should, respond.
Nobody can force Hal to spend money; he has been very clear about not exceeding 300 million.
The big contracts can't be moved, but McMahon can. That's 16 mil. Jazz can. That's about 10 mil. Long shot, but if Grisham gives permission to be traded before June, that's 22 mil. OR.. Hal can stop being a bish and go over the threshold like a big boy.
